Yeah was a good game, Godspeed has only lead for 2 days and we still managed to take the win, was a lot of fun.

I like how the warrior in the vid switches to his warhorn like once during the entire vid. Vigor? Weakness? Blasting waterfields? Curing cripple/root from allies? Swiftness? Sword mobility? Nope, not in this vid. He also blows stability on roots and at the end dies with almost full endurance.

Most the fights also looked either 1:1 or like you were outnumbering the enemy.

I’m not sure why you’d even want to upload a movie like that.

I’m slightly disappointed by Red Guard tbh. My server plays against them right now and while they’re able to handle most blobs they seem to struggle against other guilds. Yes, they still win a lot of fights but I remember them being more dominant. Maybe they still need to recover from the break.

Wut. RG has only played 2 GvG’s since returning and won them both convincingly, what guilds have we struggled against?

When I came back to the server people were happily bragging about how they were losing on purpose in wvw to drop ranks or some equal garbage.

What’s there to be loyal to there?

… crazy WvW buffs? Please enlighten us unworthy readers what wvw buffs there are that give your abilities an additional +250% damage? You do realize that even owning 3 orbs of power only gives your realm 150 stat points and foods cap out at 100 of an individual stat?

That’s utterly false by the way, you can min/max far better in wvw, attaining much higher crit damage which translates to much higher damage in general for crit heavy classes (read; thief).

Seriously tho, what is it with some posters and the inability of admitting they were wrong. Don’t get me wrong, this is rather entertaining but doesn’t being so fervently in denial get kind of frustrating at some point? Or are you actually convinced you still have a sliver of a point hidden somewhere behind your desperate denials?

Appreciate the backup but this bwillb guy is already so set in his point of view he wont accept any other arguments so I kinda wrote him off as a kitten and carried on.

In fact if you read his posts you’ll find that his initial argument was that he was in full exotics and only did 2k, now he’s talking about tPvP all of a sudden. It’s a classic case of backpedaling desperately, trying to salvage some form of superiority in the discussion even when clearly in the wrong.

Oh so a… karmabanner.. a minor orb and some food buffs made clusterbombs hit for 7k+ instead of 2k? Well, that’s cleared up then, carry on.

Why would I need to do that, I play a thief myself and I know what I hit for.

Man if you specifically look at, for example, 0:35 you can see me target a lvl 80 elementalist just before hitting him for a 7.6k crit.

As I said, either you stack wrong stats or your spec is awful. Most likely both.

You people hitting for 2k w/ clusterbomb with full exotics must either have awful specs or you stack kitten stats, just saying.

6-9k sounds about accurate on clothies.

@Nick – Ehh what? I don’t understand how you could so completely misunderstand the clip. The whole point of the vid was to show that doing big crits isn’t the only thing important in WvW, as I made the vid in response to multiple complaints about warriors not reaching the damage output my thief was reaching. (point being my thief could never reach the tankiness my warrior can).

I thought this point was obvious based on the description, intro and actual gameplay but I guess not.

Eh what? The “top rated” servers are usually the most active servers, shocking coincidence I’m sure. Implying zergs on one server are better than zergs on another is pretty hilarious to me, pubs will always be terrible and stomped by organized guilds.

The only thing that makes one server ranked above another isn’t that their mindless zerg is more talented, it’s that they have more people in wvw all the time. If you’re looking for pvp where individual skill matters go structured.

@above mars – ty. Axe works fine, I just prefer mace for defensive & debuff (spammable aoe weakness on 1, block on 2 and daze on 3).

Horn / sword aren’t that important, you should mostly be using it for mobility and horn skills, not actual fighting (besides snaring someone and switching back to mainhand).

As for rune of the soldier, the 6 piece that makes your shouts clean conditions also applies to your allies, meaning when you spec healing shouts you are both cleansing and healing your allies at the same time. Shake it off for example removes 2 conditions after you get the full 6 piece rune-set, which is why I find it to be the strongest runeset for a support shout build.

is my build, the 30th point in defense I tend to switch around depending on the mood (missile deflection / last stand / defy pain) but defy pain is the safe choice.

I also use 6 piece soldier rune, must have for any shout build imho and the sigil that has a 60% chance to remove conditions on crit in my shield.

The gear you got correctly, pwr/tough/vit (karma armor, badge jewelry&weaponry).

Yes I really dont know how teams are matched up but some sort of rankings are desperately needed, can go from awesome games to complete facerolls within the same tournament.

Not sure about the extra range to be fair, we deal a lot of damage from both range and melee. Possibly a major master trait, just a flat out buff in range would be too strong.
