I would say that LS3 is better quality as they wanted it. It’s sad to see how small the update was for PvE outside of QoL improvements and Fractals. Bloodstone Fen and the story has about 3hrs content and a week or two of grind to get the trinkets and back piece. Very meh update content wise. None the less this update had a lot of work put into it. Don’t expect anything longer to be coming in the future.
I do agree with one dev comment made in the AMA on reddit. “Give it a few releases and wait until we get further away from the content drought.” Paraphrased and can’t remember the op of it, but it does hold value.
Wish we could have gotten more
Agreed… I was looking forward to the update and finished the regular content in about 3 hours. I am not a dungeon player so this means that it’s about it until the next update. Now I plan of bringing all of my toons into this area BUT I don’t like to have to run each one though the story line. With Maguna, I brought them in via our Guild’s Guilded Hall. For here, I need to buy an account bound item than will let me teleport them into the area. Uses up a shared slot and it costs “1000 unbound magic” from the ship’s vendor.
Interesting… just 4-5 hours? Really? How can you judge the content after 4-5 hours???
I have spent hundreds of hours in HoT and “enjoyed it”. That’s the key, I had lots of fun exploring, playing the challenges, etc. I am now back in the old GW2 world using my new powers. All my toons are at 80 and I still have lots of fun. Now on the flip side of the coin, I would like to see new content in HoT and GW2 but calling HoT a flop is pushing it. Did they deceive us with the pre-HoT adverts? Yep… and that irritates me, but it did not remove the enjoyment I have playing GW2 and HoT :-)
It was a scam from the first hype and this game will never recover, quit kidding yourselves.
I spent nearly 4k hours in this game, truly entertained. I don’t know what you are talking about.
How many hours in HoT ? Personally i spent 7000 hours in game, but only 4-5 hours
in HoT … so thats why HoT was a scam .. and in the end it was only ok because i
played the game for free so long .. so paying 100€ for HoT was more or less a
present to ANet for the good days in GW2 before HoT.
Licensed HoT Ultimate but no HoT glider wings

As noted in the title, I pre-purchased HoT Ultimate and have been using it since day one. I tried to get the special HoT Glider wings but it says that it’s only available for those who have the DELUXE edition.
As the ULTIMATE edition is one notch up, how can I get those wings?
Just curious but with the appearance of VR gear, is there any plan to offer a version of GW2 for use with VR Goggles?
This might have been shared before but I could not find any references, hence my questions:
1. To be able to effectively play in the HoT expansion, must the toon be level 80?
2. If I create a new toon, do I have to go through the same “routine” to level it to 80?
IMHO, it would have been a nice perk for long-time players who have multiple level 80 toons to be able to fast track new ones to level 80 upon creation, or at least to level 50.
Seems like most will “power-level” a new toon to be able to get to HoT quickly, thus not being very helpful in the “old world”.
As the new content really seems to be aimed towards level 80+ players, perhaps the GW2 team and AN should consider a fast-track leveling option for new toons created by users who already have say 3-4 level 80 characters.
I have 7 toons at level 80 and when I create new ones I need to go through the same “stale” content from 1-80. I say “stale” as it’s the same content, the same story lines, etc. It might have been fun for the first 3-4 toons but with this 7th one it’s just a tedious and time consuming task as I want to be able to to bring these into the new content.
Food for thought :-)
I have been in a zone and received a message on the bottom/right part of the screen warning me that unless I accept to switch to a more populated virtual server (check the box), the zone I was in will close in 50 minutes. I clicked on the button and reappeared at the same place but on a different virtual server with many players.
Trying to get one of my toons to 100% so I wanted to see what zones I have not yet completed. Up to now, the only way I found to do this is to teleport to each zone and check. Is there an easier way to find out what is left for a specific toon in each zone? A centralized page?
The auto-play was NOT fixed. I need to enter my password every time I start the game even though the boxes are checked.
Same here… I need to enter the password every time even though the “save user” and “Save password” boxes are checked. The problem started after the last update and NO, I will not create a new user account in Windows as a work around. It’s a GW2 problem so fix it :-)
Updated my Win 8.1 Pro u1 x64 w/nVIDIA EVGA 670 FTW and it starts but stops at the log-in screen. TaskInfo says that GW2 is running. Disabled FW/AV (current AVG IS), rebooted several times, same result. So I am another user who has encountered this problem Game was working fine yesterday and before. This problem started after the current update.
MY PROBLEM IS SOLVED —> Seems like the update cleared the password field which is why the launcher wasn’t doing anything. First time an update does this :-)

Frequent DCD, EXTREME lag, random TPs to other areas on the map… this game is totally unplayable for the past couple of days.
Ah… so it’s a DDOS attack. Been wondering what’s been happening the past couple of days. DCDs, extreme lag, random TPs. Game is unplayable.
