This was advertised as a PvP oriented game. Yet it seems like there is more catering to the PvE crowd. Why?

I do not care about pve content or pve items. I do however care if the items step into my area of the game and are better and easier to access than the items I can get.

So with that, here is my list of the biggest problems for GW2

1. Cost of exotic armor using karma, is extremely high. PvP should not be about the gear. SPvP has this right.

2. Know your enemy. Half the fun in other mmos is developing adversaries or enemies. Instead we have nameless pvp. Not as fun. Turn on player names in WvW. Or at least make it default on with an option to turn off.

3. The best weapons should always be available to buy with karma and for reasonable amounts. I dont care if you give the same stats and make the skin look plain. I do not want to participate in grinds

4. WvW is EXPENSIVE. Please increase the money that drops in WvW. Or better yet, turn off the need for armor repair in WvW. Pvpers do not want to have to worry about money. If I run around all day doing nothing but WvW i am losing money to repairs, upgrades and schematics.

5. Add in some short term incentives for WvW. Give people a reason to want to join wvw at least once a day. Maybe something like ‘cap 3 towers and 5 camps and 5 killing blows’ and get a daily chest

6. Faster booting of AFK people. Have a clickable inactivity pop up for people who have not moved for 90 seconds

7. Nerf the range of arrow carts by a 100 yards if the AOE nerf is not effective enough. but right now range aoe is hell on melee especially.

8. Add in some WvW only rewards. Things like trinkets, backs etc also as well custom wvw skins, pets etc.

9. Increase Experience rate for wvw. I leveled my lone 80 mostly thru wvw. It takes worlds longer than doing pve and map exploration. I have alot of entire zones that I have never even stepped foot in and never will. I have not done nor will I do a single dungeon. Why? I have ZERO interest in those areas of the game. I play the game to do WvW

10. Outmanned buff needs to be changed. It should affect damage and health as well as wall/door strength and NPCs.

Also it should also come into effect earlier. I can tell you from experience that other servers have had alot more on than one server yet there is no buff. It seems like the buff only appears when the numbers are REALLY screwed up bad. Imo if there are more than 10 people for one server than that is enough to cause imbalance issues really.

11. An announcement that players reported for doing things like wasting resources building rams inside the main keep can be banned. Why should multi account people be allowed to harrass and cheat their way to victory? That needs to stop and the only way it will is if you give them something to fear. Simply make an announcement that any players caught intentionally working against their server will be banned and that there will be zero tolerance of it. That should put an end to it.

12. Better load balancing of population. Lets say a wvw border can only hold 300 players. Now lets say server 1 has 140 people on, server 2 has 100 and 3 has 60. If there is a queue then people from server 1 should have no chance to get in until the queue is gone or the numbers close to equal. But tbh Imo, the server populations should never be allowed to exceed 10 over another.

So the solution? Overflow WvW. Just like overflow LA, just throw people around to WvW servers where there are no queues. This would probably actually help some of the lower tiers or poorly represented to make matches better balanced and closer.

If someone does overflow wvw, give them a bonus to experience and magic find to encourage participation.

I was doing fine versus 2 people, just keeping the point contested when I got jumped from full life…

Everyone keeps saying L2P, frankly, I only have problems with Thieves and Mesmers.

and this guy has the nerve to complain about other classes when in his own words he dominates 75% of the playerbase easily, even 2 on 1.

Too much to bear? balancing and classes.

My thief has a big didge bar that has traits that help me migrate my incective. In the summer there is a lot of incectives around coz of the heat.

I need to learn how to migrate my damage. Perhaps Inspector Clouseau could hep us

Make it:

1. Free every 30 days

2. Block you from entering WvW if facing prior server or same Tier. This alone will end any hopping to spy

Permanent Semi-stealth needs to be an option

1. Make it only available for 30 Shadow points
2. Only usable when not in combat
3. Makes character hazy like a ghost and turns off name from showing
4. Breaking from it puts restealth prevention debuff of 3 seconds.
5. 1st attack from breaking the semi-stealth state is at a penalty of -10% damage

6. This gives people the chance to play a traditional thief/rogue who can scout and have fun while not being op.
7. At same time it actually is detrimental to damage
8. Its 30 points deep in a completely non dps tree.

I dont have a real big issue with pve stuff being in wvw. But there should be a way to buy it with karma.

If you are going to allow PvE gear into WvW then you have to allow wvw to enable the ability to purchase it with karma

I have np with pvp items having the same stats but different skins.

You’re mistaken at least in Tier 1. SBI is green and is not the best server then again it was also a very weak presenced weekend. That isn’t a word I know but I made it a word.

SBI managed to hold their territory overall for most of the weekend, all while not even participating in EB fighting. I think they are afraid of SoS

I agree. WvW should be just like SPvP in relation to gear. The differences in gear are greatly apparent a few months after release. Go in with a level 40 and you get 2 shotted sometimes.

I already hate leveling with a passion. Now i have to do it and gear grind for multiple characters? UGH

Will the level cap rise / Will our gear become out-dated?

I hope not. I dont even like to level at all.
Imo the ideal game would be a starting zone of like 1 to 10 that can be completed in about 12-24 hours of game play just to learn basic mechanics. After that everything else would be end game content. Or at least give the players the option to level or be instant 80.
I still cannot understand why gaming companies cannot figure that out.

SPvP-Heart of Mists is how the game SHOULD be. At least in regards to PvP. My biggest complaint with pvp in other games has always been that Skill is overshadowed by gear. If everyone is in the same gear then skill becomes the determining factor

So this game went from something that that anyone could level up in, to Wow where you have to play 24.7 and gear checks to know if you are allowed into a group..

Amazing..

Sure Anet will have someway for people to buy gems to gain fotm levels in a month (right before x-mas) to boost sales

I dont mind the PvE stuff personally but only because I do not PvE.
But if this stuff has an impact on PvP I am going to be highly upset.
I didnt buy this game to gear grind PvP.

What they could do is base Downed State upon the number of enemy and allies in a target area around the player. Like a Supply Camp capping circle.

So lets say player is downed. A circle around the player then counts both allies and enemy players and scales either direction. Depending on totals the following occurs

1. More enemy than allies, downed state as is to buffed. If numbers close to even, as is. If alot of enemy, healing is buffed

2. More Allies then enemy. Downed state is harder to heal. If close, as is. If alot then you can be killed in a couple of hits

This accomplishes two things.
1. It allows a smarter or more skilled small group to overcome larger forces as they should be able to. By scaling the health bar or healing factor you allow fights to adjust to population

2. It still allows larger forces to still be able to win by sheer numbers if they use some smarts.

I have NEVER seen a server alliance with another server. There’s always the rumors and gossip but it has always proven false.

Maybe not a spoken alliance but i have seen far too many instances of servers not attacking each other but both attacking a thirds towers

Id like to know the math behind outmanned buff. Because sometimes i see a server with a ton of people in a border but no outmanned buff. How many more does a server have to have to trigger the buff?

Whats total player count in a borderland? Is there a cap per server or per borderland period?

Meaningful outmanned buff that scales. Damage, stats, upgrade speed increase, stronger walls/doors are some things.

Siege weapons do too much damage in large fights. It renders melee useless

Cc needs to share a cd and give some immunity. Perhaps dodge should make one cc immune for 1.5 seconds. But in large fights its arrow carts and rangers etc then add in other cc and the main meeting point turns into an aoe cc fest where you die almost instantly. Again melee is at a major disadvantage

Too easy for a large zerg with money to cap a map quickly. Perhaps make it so anytime a node is capped, other nodes get a small increase in defense. Ie stronger walls, npcs. Make buff on a short timer of say 5-8 minutes

Or make your node defenses scale to how many you possess on a map. If you only have say a tower and a supply camp, you get a significant buff. This would help prevent a complete map overrun

Something needs to be done about server participation. Sometimes a server quits or makes alliances with other servers. There needs to be motivation for a server to fight two fronts, not just one. Some sort of reward for fighting both servers at same time.

Gaming companies think that we still want to play against the computer. There’s several hundred thousand of us who keep game hopping hoping for the next good place to get large scale PVP. So far this is ok to good, but it could be a lot better with some focus by Anet.

No queues usually inspite of what people say. Eternal bg can really use a pvp guild to run things. We have pvp guild coverage on most borders. Just can really use another good sized for eternal and occasional opposition borderland sweeps
