I’ve had a ticket in about this for a few days.. Only response I got was “We’ll contact you when we know what’s going on.”

With some googling I saw that this was an old issue, and it was resolved for some people by Anet just manually deleting the character.

[Forum Specialist] Specialization Update

I’d like to add in on another issue. After the traits update, we lost a few Turret traits without them being made baseline.

-Rifled Turret barrels- 15% damage and 50% range increase

-Auto-tool Installation: Self repairing turrets

-(forget the name) ground targeted turrets

That together with the massive buffs to conditions, and heck even just baseline power, running any kind of turrets outside of SD for the toolbelt skill is foolish. It wasn’t something I ran often, but it was still enjoyable when I did.

I mainly run SD right now, as I dont enjoy using Nades / bomb / EG at all. I find all of them only make the class tedious to play, but that’s my personal opinion. As for your questions:

1: Mortar was nice, though I feel the 28% nerf was a bit overboard. However, I enjoy using it much more than any other kit.

2: Mortar > All, sometimes X if I want to goof off.

3: No, as stated I find them tedious to use and avoid them. Tool kit is something I find enjoyable, using it purely as a source of utility to supplement myself. having a main PvE rotation that takes 20 steps to get through one cycle is ridiculous even by other MMO standards, and in PvP I find it becomes much too hectic.

4: SD, and i’ve been toying around with a P/P HGH build.

5: Agreed, clunky and low numbers make it not worth using.

6: No, unless running HGH.

7: I feel like the recharge should be made baseline, and / or the effects more pronounced for some gadgets. ( Throw mine, Ram, and Utility goggles come to mind)

I’d love to not be forced into kits if I want to seriously play any aspect of the game. Here’s hoping the Elite spec can do that.

Pistol 1 was also supposed to be counted as an explosion.

So no 1200 range on Rifle?

Pistol doesn’t have increased range either, and pistol 1 doesn’t count as an explosion like they said it would. Kinda kills my build I had planned.

Treasure maps

Due to Guild Wars 2’s emphasis on exploration, I think that something like a lootable treasure map would be a great addition to gw2.

The idea for this is very much ala Runescape’s Clue Scrolls. For those you who don’t know what they are : 1 http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Clue_scroll

For those of you that want a tl;dr: the idea of a clue scroll is this. There are 4 levels of scrolls. 1 drop from low level monsters, 4 from high level monsters, and 2 and 3 are the median mobs. Each scroll will give an objective (ex, go to lions arch and find the highest point), but in riddle form. There, you would be given another scroll with another objective. Eventually, you are given a reward depending on the level of the scroll.

For a Guild Wars 2 example, Let’s say that you are doing the Dynamic Event in Queensdale where you defend the water from the bandit poison. Upon killing one of the bandits, they drop a scroll. Because you are in Queensdale, it is only a level 1 scroll. The scroll reads:
“The city of intellect houses what you seek, his knowledge is great, but, his stature is meek, head to this place for something unique.” Because this only a level 1 map, this is easy. This is telling you to go to the College of Dynamics in Rata Sum and talk to the Dean of the College. From there, a number of things could happen. That could be the end of the map, or he could give you a new one, or a task to complete.

The end result of the map would be a guaranteed gold and heavy Karma reward (would help take off the karma grind from Orr and the like, and incentivise those to do them and not chuck them)
with a chance at some cosmetics / mini pets / ect. And obviously, higher level maps= better rewards, but more challenging. Furthermore, this is just an example, can can be modified to better fit GW2.

Also, if we had multiple levels of maps, unique cosmetic rewards from the maps could be used to keep low level areas relevant and populated, while encouraging going back to all the different zones to complete these maps.

Thoughts?
