I hate to jump into a discussion, but your words made this come to mind: So, what you’re implying is that everyone should build to counter thief burst? Yet, last time I checked, there were other 7 professions one could be facing to take into account.

This is exactly what he and all thief players have been demanding of everyone; to build their builds specifically adn solely for countering thieves, disregarding everyone else. He even mentioned getting Heart of Stone for a glass cannon ele, 30 points into a trait line that gives toughness and condition damage, forsaking any sort offensive traits associated with offensive trait line. It only works in earth, an attunement that has no offensive capabilities all that for the sake of lasting a little longer, while the thief sacrifices literally absolutely nothing on their trait lines or skills.

They are so self absorbed in their class that they forget they are not the only ones out there and there are traits that you simply cant afford, like Stone Heart (which is really deep, 30 points, like I said, and very situational) or skills that have an insane CD (such as arcane shielding which has 75 seconds CD, wont block a single backstab, as opposed to a backstab that can ignore all forms of defense and has virtually no CD).

They will hang from any sliver of a thread they can find to justify their class. They demand you trait accordingly, they demand you use specific runes only for them, they demand you equip 2/3 utilities towards them only. Sure there are classes that can afford it such as bunkers or engi, and notice how most of the people when confronted with a glass cannon thief will say “play condi engi” or some other bunker, when it is specifically stated that this is about GC vs GC.

Somehow they have conviced a lot of people that thieves are the only ones allowed to be berserker, that they are an automatic win vs other berserker builds and that it is ok

And if anyone believe I’m exaggerating on any of my points please someone prove me wrong on how to play a truly offensive berserker ele attuned only on earth.

Let me get this straight; you want to nerf the only thing eles do in any PvP enviroment?!

Whats next, reducing their health pool to minimun, give them light armor, nerf their healing in every patch and make all their skills have 40+ secs CD with highly telegraphed and long casting animations?!

Liadri Vs Teq & Wurm

Dont get me wrong, I love the concept of Teq and Wurm (although the ads for this one is a little over the top), but you should design some content that didnt rely so much on group effort, random people who wont even join a voicechat for organization that you dont even support ingame (TS or vent or what-have-you).

The reason why I loved Liadri, tried it over 150 times, on lowest of lowest settings, with zergs below me driving my already normal 13 FPS down to 3-4FPS or frozen for a second or two was simply the fact that;

The challenge was limited to me. Only I could decided the outcome of the fight. I didnt need to depend on anyone, or rely on outside resources such as voice chat with a bunch of guester, randoms or people who simply wont join TS or tag down so that our commanders can correctly direct

Please design more Liadris, less Wurms. I love challenge, but dont tie its fun to unjust timers and random people which will screw your chance.

Stealth Should be the Reward

This isnt about any specific class, just stealth in general and those few classes that have it.

Plain and simple. Having stealth should be the “reward”. What do I mean by this?

Well, usually, in most balanced games, having stealth is in and for itself pretty darn good. But here not only do you not put handicaps and ways to counter it, but encourage the unlimited use of it, and if you think that wasnt enough, give certain class for free one of the highest damage spell that has absolutely no risk and cant be countered not even with blocks (which doesnt reveal said class) but also give them boons while in stealth.

In most games having stealth is already awesome, to countrest this you have handicaps like :

  1. Slow movement speed
  2. Means to reveal them
  3. CC reveals them (roots do not count as CC)
  4. Damage Reveals them
  5. Certain damage threshold reveals them
  6. Chance to see them
  7. Damage penalty
  8. Cant heal or put boons for a bit
  9. Cant reset fights at will every 4 seconds, usually have to burn a PRETTY LENGHTY cooldown to get out of combat when things go awry.
  10. Take 100% more or even more damage while stealthed.

But here? Spam it, make it annoying, uncounterable, give them boons, free uncounterable damage spells, all that while having all the benefices that come from stealth.

I believe Stealth should be good enough, no need to give it so many good things on top of that while not having ANY way of dealing with it other than swinging your sword in the air (if you have a ranged weapon you are screwed) and wasting all CDs in the hope that something, just something will connect, and even if it does, you wont know, and it will for sure not be 8k damage, which would only be fair considering certain classes free access to it every 4 seconds.
