I didn’t see this subject addressed yet so I apologize if I missed the thread on it.
It’s quite obvious that putting NPC’s next to the bank in LA means they are going to be heard A LOT! You guys know this so their location was obviously planned… Now I have no problem with gay NPC’s in this game….. However I do have a problem with you using “children” to push your politics as though it is just an innocent game the children are playing. If you want to use adults to have this type of conversation then so be it but using children is just tasteless. I’m sure plenty of people will disagree with me… not everyone believes in God and that’s fine but many people do, so how about let’s play neutral and leave stuff like this out of the game completely… thank you for caring. Respect is a two-way street.
Dailies: Due to the new way dailies are done you are now limiting lower leveled (and new) players. You are basically forcing lower level characters to either finish their dailies in PvP or in WvW. For people who are serious about WvW, especially in the upper tiers, you have made it so now people who don’t care for WvW are taking a place of someone who cares about WvW, so they can go finish their dailies. Not to mention how potentially ineffective lower level characters are in WvW compared to someone at least level 31 or higher…. and now there are even more of them due to the new dailies system. In WvW your skills/traits are limited to whatever level you truly are. Forcing people to go to WvW or even PvP to complete their dailies isn’t the answer. Please reconsider and make dailies more compatible for lower level characters while remaining in PvE…. just doubling the number of things you can do in the PvE aspect would be a big help.
Bank voice overs: “I’m selling, you buying?” – “All prices non negotiable” – etc… are not things the banker should be saying…. using the voice overs from the vendors is just being lazy… seriously. I’ve had new people asking if the bank sells the stuff they put into it, so I had to reassure them they don’t and that it was just the same sayings from the vendors.
Way points: It use to be that we could see if a WP (Way Point) was contested in another zone (anywhere in Tyria). So when you pick a WP that is contested, you automatically get moved to an uncontested WP… the problem is, we have to pay to use the WP’s and if you decide to move us to a WP we wouldn’t have picked had we known the one we wanted was contested, then we have to pay to go to the WP we would have picked (or run a lot farther). So instead of deciding what WP for us, have a menu pop up asking us to pick another WP, so “we” can decide what WP we want to go to. This issue has made me (as I’m sure many others) waste a lot of silver having to go to the WP I would have picked had I known the one I originally picked was contested. Yes I know sometimes WP’s become contested when you’re in transit… so take me back to my original WP and let me select another one.

Good points….. and nice thought there Chris, I like that idea
Yeah I forgot they nerfed the Quaggans… poor things!
Even if the story was good it is sad they got canned :P
But they didn’t change the landscape drastically enough to make it feel fresh… IMO
I’ve been a gaming admin for a number of games/leagues since 1990. After a period of time, guilds/clans/teams start calling out for freshness, like new maps. It has been this way since I’ve been an admin. If you don’t give the guilds/clans/teams what they want, you will lose them!
Making one third of a map and cloning it isn’t that difficult, true, provided the map editor allows this process. However it isn’t just a matter of cloning the map how ever many times you need to. There are also entities (as one example) that are tied into each zone/area that must be added or edited accordingly.
Using EoTM as a test area for potential BL maps is a great idea!
To the DEVS – You change the landscape in the PvE aspect of the game with your living story…. don’t you think in WvWvW where a WAR is going on, would change the landscape, too??
I think a scouting system would be a good idea. I think donations would also be a good idea. As for a reward, I’m not too worried about being rewarded other than the thank you’s from the commander/s. Maybe some karma awarded at each “tick” so long as you never go “out of range” of the structure you’re scouting or it gets taken over by an opponent, obviously. Good idea though, worthy of continued discussion.
I only read a few posts here so I apologize if I am repeating something here….
Anet, if you’re going to keep the servers split up into specific locations (NA UK or where ever), then only allow people in that area to join their server group. Because by splitting up the server groups you have created “off hours”. Which means the more people that are on a server that isn’t in their area the more of an advantage that server has during off hours. Which is a big reason why competition can be so lopsided when playing a server in a higher/lower tier. Every single persons location is easily determined by their IP, so it isn’t hard to make sure people in the area for the UK servers can only join the UK servers… and likewise for any of the other server group locations.
Otherwise make WvW play time during certain hours of the day…. like from 6AM til 12AM server time… this way there aren’t any off hours. But then that would really suck… so obviously that isn’t the solution… so what is the solution? Unfortunately the only fair option I see is to restrict players from joining a server outside of their location, or, if you do allow them to join a server outside of their location then don’t allow them to play WvW. Which, by the way, would really suck as well! You created this fiasco, ANET not us. It’s already sad that the outcome of nearly every match up can be dictated if 2 servers ally against 1. Remember this is a game you built, people expect fairness by the developers, not who can get as many people on their server as possible so they have the best chance of winning….
Zulika, that is a world boss (dragon) it is only in PvE, not in WvWvW.
The deck didn’t get stacked against SoR, although it may have felt that way due to the numerous guilds that left SoR for another server…. It’s a shame, but it is what it is.
I’m not sure of this, but isn’t there a cap on the number of players in WvWvW? For instance, a maximum of 450 players between the three servers (as an example), can be playing at one time. However, that maximum of 450 players is not divided equally between the servers. So one server could have 200 people, while server 2 has 150 people… leaving 100 for the remaining server. If this is in fact true, then that is a huge issue right there… Someone please tell me this is not the case. I would love to be wrong on this.
Ever since January 23, it seems that Fort Aspenwood (FA) has lost a number of peeps. And since we don’t have much of a SEA presence, I’m guessing we lost mostly NA peeps. So I think we are going to drop a tier or even two unless we get some SEA presence. We still have a decent NA presence but we can REALLY use some SEA love!! We still have a few decent commanders and the “elitist” attitude isn’t too bad.
