Guild Wars 2

So in my account security screen on the gw2 website it says my authenticator is linked and gives me the option to unlink it. However I have logged into gw2 half a dozen times since I set it up, and it hasn’t ever asked me to give an authentication code.

Anyone else have this issued?

The have a system which automatically locks peoples accounts to protect them from account fraud, however, if you read this forum you will see that most of the people are posting about similar incidents where the system has incorrectly locked their account.

Monday I was booted off my account after trying to send gold to a friend multiple times. Since it wouldn’t let me send a large amount I sent it in increments of 10g over the course of an hour. There were several attempts where it gave me the error message that I could not send the gold.

My account was locked all of that evening and unlocked at 2am Tuesday.
Tuesday morning I checked to see if I could log in, I was able to, then tried to actually play the game an hour later and my account was locked again. The same message that my account was suspected to have been stolen.
I submitted yet another ticket yesterday which was not answered until today. They gave me a new password stating that I could log into my account, however, *never admitted any fault of their own or even mentioned the actual problem*. Now that I am home from work, I try to log in and guess what? My account has been locked due to suspected theft. So I won’t be able to play for a third night in a row. I cannot believe I purchased this game and get this sort of service from this company.

Unless we can get enough people on these forums complaining that their automated locking system is working improperly, then they will never fix it.

PS: The moderators of this forum have deleted two post of mine which extolled the problems I’ve had with my account. For the reason that they were “nonconstructive”.

PS: I also added a cell phone authentication so that they could be sure I was the one accessing my account.

ArenaNet, you certainly duped me!

You are trying to run the game with a $60 processor which is massively bottle-necking your gaming experience. A decade ago you could scoot by with a really nice GFX card and a less than desirable CPU. These days they both need to be decent.

I’ve been playing the game for a few weeks now and 2 of my RL friends and I have lvl 80 characters. We are good at teamwork and have all done extensive raiding in the big mmo. When getting into the game I thought about the lack of the LFG system but assumed that with a little work it would be decently easy to form groups for lvl 80 explore mode dungeons.

This has not been my experience. This game is so beautiful and I enjoy the dungeons and have been successful in all the ones I’ve been able to find/form groups for. But it takes more work to form a group than any video game I’ve played. I use the LFG site, I use map chat in Lion’s arch, my friends and I even transferred to SoS in hopes that a higher population would aid us. We spent time talking with different guilds who all claimed that they did lots of PvE. I just can’t understand how even tapping all these resources it is still this hard to get grouped up for something. If after literally 30 minutes of asking in guild chats, asking in map chats, and trying to contact randoms from gw2lfg and I still don’t have a group together I start to give up. Tonight I tried to find people for 45 minutes for ANY explorable dungeon and still couldn’t find any takers. I just don’t understand how an in game automated lfg system isn’t in place, or how there aren’t more people that want to do dungeons. It just seems ridiculous to me.

GW2 is the best looking, most fun combat mmo I’ve played. But if I can’t find people to play with then what good is it?

I just got the game for 41.99 (holy cow). I played the beta weekends but decided to return the game before release because I wasn’t in the mood for an MMO. Now I am.

I know all the classes are fun. My question is this:

What class would you recommend for someone who wants the most options as far as viable damage focused builds as far as different play styles go. Which profession has the most options for viable heavily offensive pvp builds?
