Your “soft trinity” isn’t based on gear, it’s based around builds. Damage, control, support all comes from what you bring to the fights with weapon sets, traits, and utilities.
1) Damage – DPS
2) Control – cc, chill, freeze, immobilize
3) Support – might, fury, aegis, reflects, blinds, vuln
What gear you wear has no effect on 2 and 3. Damage is the only one affected by what gear you have, and to do a lot of it berserker gear is the way to go.
Just to make a comment on your healing power for support; healing power only allows YOU to heal better. Healing power does not help you heal those in your party.
Was doing CoE a few days ago and we ended up having to find a pug for the 5th man. A warrior joined so we asked if they could take both banners and EA. He replied “I use a might stacking build.” I then said “So If you are using PS you should also have EA.” We then pulled both groups and I immediately noticed he dropped Str and Tactics banner and no EA buff appeared. The pug was then promptly kicked from the group.
I’m always baffled by how stupid some people are.
I’d like to join, will be interesting to do P4 w/o skipping straight to lupi.
No need to double dodge, just dodge into him or into a wall if you pushed him to one.
So the instanced is destroyed if I dc? Great, it’s already a pain to have to do skips/boss fights over again, can’t wait start from the beginning. Guess it’s duos from now on.
I’d say farmers are more hostile to those that inadvertently mess with their farming spot.
This just sounds to me like you are joining groups that have requirements you don’t fit. If making your own lfg is too much trouble, then don’t complain about being kicked from groups you don’t belong in.
uhhh r u saying the person who MADE the group, joined a group they were not qualified for?
Uhhh, you edited your post after I replied to say you were the one opening the group. Which if people are joining your groups and changing the description from what it was originally, thats not right. But you only changed it after people got on you about joining groups you don’t belong in. Seems, fishy to me…

So you got banned because brie just stands there? Nice…
I thought this was a good thing at first, then I thought a little bit more…
Now there’s no point in selling paths when griefers can come in and steal your instance, then just kill the last boss themselves. Guess we don’t have to hear about people complaining about only seeing sellers on lfg.
I’ve been seeing this a lot lately, in fact, I saw a mesmer the other day in Arah path 2 skip the entire sections of the dungeon and port people. They weren’t selling the dungeon and it was my group, but it was odd to see them able to do that.
I really wish selling dungeon paths was bannable, because trying to get a legitimate group together only to see “Selling Path X for X gold! Boss at 1%!” in the lfg tab is getting irritating.
You mentioning that you saw a mesmer skip sections of Arah p2 is insinuating that people who sell glitched/exploited the dungeon, which is very untrue. There are ways to tell if someone did skip sections of Arah.
If your reason to ban dungeon selling is because you can’t find a group, make your own. I’ve waited for over an hour many times with my lfg open trying to sell spots and see many other groups get filled in the mean time. You only see the ones selling because they can be up for a long time.
@Ravion, You’re a funny guy.
You can have your back piece without needing to do fractals when I can have dragonite ore and karma for doing dungeons.
Having AP requirements in your LFG is the same as putting “experienced only”, meaning you’ll get the exact opposite of what you’re looking for. I only do dungeons and very regularly see players with 2-3x more AP then me that don’t have a clue, especially in Arah. Saying that having a lot of AP means a person is experienced doesn’t mean they know what they are doing.
The best indicator is what gear they are using and the build they have on.
People stack because they don’t have to deal with the bosses mechanics and can just mash buttons.
Isn’t mashing buttons all we do anyways?
yep that tiny nerf did nothing. People are still charging the largest for zerker gear enchants, they still run pure zerker builds, nothing’s changed.
Until they restore the three other roles to their former glory this will continue to happen. I speak of course of CC, Support, Condition Builds.
CC and support are used all the time in meta groups. Condition not so much just because of how they currently work.
People being offended when I ask them questions about what they are doing.
Just did Alphard twice without even dodging. =/
Enemies have more health, hit harder, and make it so you can’t stack. So range each mob for 5 mins while safe-spotting? Sounds like a winner.
Actually, if you knew how to play without stacking, you’d realize that this statement only applies to a selected few bosses. Heck you can even do it without the PVT armour.
Basically all you’re doing is prove the OP’s point.
Just by being in melee range you are stacked. So playing without stacking would mean ranging.
The only ones really able to get away with full berserker gear and standing in the corner and not getting downed every other special are warriors. I don’t like running full berserker gear in dungeons and I suppose its a blessing for all the other people doing it since after they get downed I am there to bail them out and get them back on their feet. I’ve seen more runs fail from people unable to take the hits then from people being too tanky. Not a single class has infinite dodges available at every moment or no CD heals.
Not saying people need to be rolling wvw tank builds into dungeons, but it really wouldn’t hurt if you put on a few pieces of knights gear, your slightly lower dps would hardly be noticeable in the overall speed of the run. In fact it might speed it up because you weren’t downed by random trash or the occasional boss hit causing your personal dps to drop and at least one other persons to stop completely while they get you back up.
Just a few quick points.
1) I use a full berserker Guardian, which means I can get insta-downed very easily. When it is time to stack I don’t just stand in the corner and hope to not get downed. That’s what blinds, aegis, and dodges are for.
2) If I do get downed I don’t expect people to just stop and res me, that’s what the rally system is for.
3) Of course no class has infinite dodges and there are CDs. The whole point is to manage those so that you aren’t sol when the time comes you need them.
4) Knight’s gear does hurt because I like to see big numbers and that prevents me from seeing them. :S
Also, it is noticeable when people aren’t in full berserker gear.
Karma, Badges, and Dungeon armor NEVER, EVER could be salvaged.
Has nothing to do with wardrobe, is the way those particular sets works to don’t make ppl farm and transform those currencys into gold.
Dungeon armor can’t be salvaged… Lol what? Salvaging dungeon armor is how I get all my ectos.
I can see that you have no idea how berserker works and those groups that kick people for not being a war/guard also don’t know how it works.
The reason you don’t see certain paths done is because they take too long. Just make your own groups and wait. Don’t get mad just because people don’t want to do things the way you want them to.
Yes, with dual sigils and the new Arms trait, my dps has suffered greatly.
