Condition Necros have always been strong and power is better now. The class would be fine if Anet would just buff minions.

Wow, as a Necro I am just incredibly jealous. We get stuck with a generic AoE and a short fear. Barely any damage whatsoever.
It is known that Logan’s whole right skill bar, including healing and elite, are slotted with “Retreat!”.
Legend has it never have all 5 copies been off cooldown at the same time.
Wow it keeps getting better… I just found out that because I couldn’t log in 7 hours ago for the final event, I missed out on a free, one-time uber accessory which will cost 1000 shells or about 20 gold (based on current trading post prices) otherwise.
So now, you not only have to be a “dedicated player” running FotM 24×7, you need to log in at specific times too? Seriously… what the hell happened.
Wow. Just wow, I have no words anymore for the amount of fail I’m seeing from this company.
The over-reaction to this gear is hilarious. The stat difference between Exotics and Ascended is pretty darn small and will make next to no difference in regards to WvW or content already released.
The big thing here is the Infusion Slots, which are not so much gear progression as they are an additional mechanic being implemented into PvE. While these can act as a gear gate, it seems that Anet realizes that Ascended gear need to come from all types of gameplay in order to avoid the “gear-treadmill”.

The fact that you have to have above average skill with a Necro to be on par with average skilled players of any other class proves that the Necro does indeed suck.
Suck to the point that they are broken? No
Suck to the point that they are subpar in most PvP situations? Yes
Kinda hard to care about something thats 100% useless.
I can tell you are not using minions right.
They are not like in GW1 where they were a MMs main source of damage. In GW2 minions are a source of utility and survivability with a small amount of sustained damage-over-time.
Having a full force of minions will not allow you to snowplough through zones like it did in GW1, but between meat-shielding, interrupting, snaring and blinding they will sure as heck make you much tougher to kill and adaptable.
Go do the same grinding somewhere else. Kill variety is pretty important in this game.

Yeah Underwater DS is straight up bunk. Plague Blast is worthless unless you are self-stacking conditions and #4 should have a damage component to it as well.
However, Land DS is awesome. I think it is almost where it needs to be, depending on what direction they want to balance the class.
If they want to make the Necro more supporty/tanky then they need to increase lifeforce pool size as well as it’s degeneration rate. This would allow DS to soak up more damage without lasting any longer while not being attacked, therefore enabling the Necro to have a more sustained durability.
If they want to make the Necro more damage-capable then they need to decrease the cool down on DS and decrease lifepool size, allowing the Necro to build and activate high-powered Life Blasts but not last as long in DS or soak up as much damage.
At this point it is better to support with skills such as Well of Power or Plague Signet+Deathly Swarm.
