People are missing out so much by farming at JP
And before you say “pfff, we are pve players, not like you, pvp-nerd”, I should say that I’m almost 99% pve ~
BUT, I’m not willing to create alts just to get more badges at jumping puzzle. So I have to actually run around the battlefield with my crappy pve and zero pvp skills and try to get some badges for me~
And I’m here to tell you – I think it’s a totally different experience if you can NOT play pvp at all, and yet you have to run there and attempt to get some badges~ That’s an awesome palette of emotions, that available only to noobs like me From horrible uncontrollable rage and face-punching the keyboard to an ecstasy when you finally slaughter someone and get your badge XD If not for the lags (I’m playing on an old laptop so every zerg turns into a slideshow for me) – I’d enjoy it even more :P
After all, you should be legendary enough yourself to get your legendary weapon, so… Make a legendary face, scream something threatening in a legendary voice and start running around in legendary way and murdering those invaders~ I’m not sure if it’s legendary to panic and mash all buttons in a random order, but I think there is something legendary in it as well xD

As I said there – I don’t have anything against the looks of both sunrise or twilight, but I prefer sunrise to have a little bit more of a color variation in it, just like you. I know sunrise is orange in rl and stuff (someone made such comment there), but you CAN see blue skies and clouds in it… If you rotate your camera a bit, and of course it will be nice to see those color shifts during attack (I judge only by looking at dudes with sunrise I happened to see in dungeons).
Keep in mind though, that twilight is mostly black too (just like sunrise is an orange blob, twilight is a black blob) – but it has slightly more visible red-variation in it during attacks.

I will happily have any of those – I’m getting general mats now, and it all depends on what kind of precursor I will get first or which lodestones I will prefer to farm/buy (depending on prices). Sunrise is a bit bright for me, but if I get dawn I will go for it anyway, they’re both pretty :P

I see lodestones and precursors aren’t an issue anymore, since we came down to something as simple as badges XD

God kitten I just spend all my money on T3 sylvari armor, and could’ve joined this guild instead =_=
Funny thing is I did search for a market guild just a few days before but couldn’t find any active one

I’m just passing by, but… Imagine if A-Net removes WvW from monthly, and removes Badges of Honor as a requirement for legendary Oh, and the jumping puzzle gives you only useful stuff for WvW xD
I know it’s not relevant, i’m just wondering how much players will stop visiting WvW o.o

This game should give a feel of working towards something. It is currently about how fast you can farm gold (ignore all the instances and just run around cursed shore, also ignore crafting), because everything else is a complete waste of time.

I agree 100%~ 100% map discovery was fun, getting badges on www is challenging for me (I don’t go through jumping puzzle with 10 alts every day), but still very entertaining and fun. I even got 40 mystic clovers already and that wasn’t so bad~

But in the end, all those achievements and challenges do not really mean much, because if you want to get the final piece of the puzzle – precursor, you must grind gold and grind A LOT of it.

Precursors are really the only poorly thought part of getting the legendary, simply because they require almost no skill but luck and mindless grind. Actually they require SO much luck that it’s beyond sanity
I mean, mystic clovers require luck and gambling too. But in case of mystic clovers – it’s actually fun and rewarding. You gather experience for skill points and run events/dungeons/www for karma or fractal badges… But most importantly – when you gather enough of those, your efforts are rewarded by a relatively good chances in MF or a decent T6 mats compensation. It’s still RNG, but it’s not a hopeless waste of resources~

In case of a precursors – it’s just sinking gold into nowhere, while chewing your nails and praying to all possible gods

I think all sylvari cultural armors look WAY more awful on male characters. Not to mention that T2 heavy has different amount of color options on different genders: on females it’s 2 dye slots on coat and leggings, while males have 3 dye options on those. And those 3 look much more horrible, rather than female 2 xD They just add more mess to the armor Actually T2 for female is more like a medium pretty armor :P T2 on a male is a dirty ugly breastplate of a poor warrior, who made it himself from some junk scraps and leaves.

Now to those who critique the color choice of the OP I will say that it’s really hard to come up with a good scheme. There are two main reasons – first is skin tone colors, that spread all over your armor. And second is – there are no “strict” borders, each dye affects it’s neighbor dye in a very profound way. After using “usual armors” made of cloth, metal, leather – it’s very hard to adapt to that leaf-blending mayhem. You can’t just make it red and white in most cases – you will have some mess between reddish-whitish-grayish+your skin tone bloops all over the place.

And once again, to compare it – take female T2 and male T2: on a female you at least can make a nice distinctive line on leggings, different from the main color of your choice, on a male it’s all a messy mess. They just blend all over, making it look horrible. Now it’s not totally impossible to make it look nice, it’s just very limiting in a way.

I was thinking that they may sell for a good money, and that will kinda compensate the money sink :P

I am always thinking of starting saving stuffs for legendary~ Gathering materials, crafting gifts! Oh, it’s so exciting! And i’m not that bad with basic flipping on TP, so I do make some basic moneys too~
But… But… But… The reason that I’ve never actually started doing it – is that Karma requirement. HOW do people grind karma… That is beyond my understanding~ That must be SO tedious and hard~ SUCH a monotony, that I give up before even trying xD

The idea is awesome xD
And yes, I see a lot of problems when you start to think about actually putting it to life~ And yes I have no idea, how to work around those issues, for example those which have been mentioned here in this thread…
But the idea is great xD It will be fun, it might be not for everyone, but it does has it’s spark

I mean there are at least two reasons why that someone should fail in theory:
1. The TP is anonymous, depersonalized system, where no-one knows it’s him o.O
2. The orders for Legendary Weapons, Sunrise in particular, are higher than his 570 gold anyway xD 570 gold… Pfff! Poor homeless country boy xDDD

The last thing I’m willing to see is the trade channel and all that degradation that comes with “people WTS-ing in chat non-stop”.
Considering that the 99% of those who will WTS are simply lazy trolls/kids, who just want to sell their stuff for more money with zero efforts to deal with challenges and competition of a real TP market – that’s the shortest way to a social degradation in GW2 and turning LA into a disgusting junk city.

And, btw~ Why there? I mean why SO much in the waist area~ It’s like they secrete their skin tone in uncontrollable amounts right there xD Just sweat that stinky color all days long xD

I am all up for this too~ This is ridiculous, why should one of the most expensive armor set in the game be limited in dyes possibilities by your character’s skin color. And same goes for TA armor set. Just think about it: while other races can easily change their armor color anytime (for example to fit wintersday theme), we have to struggle with this disgusting skin tone invasion on our armors. I’m not saying that it’s impossible to make it look good. I’m saying that changing color themes of our armors without changing skin tone is VERY hard and VERY limited due to one persistent tone that we don’t have control of. In an end our skin tone defines our armor tone. Want a cardinal change in armor? – buy a total makeover kit. Don’t want to spend so much money? – stick to your skin palette.

That’s just mean, I think~ And it makes you envy a lot all those other races who can change their look in a minute, and still look awesome, while if I change it in a cardinal way i have those ugly splotches everywhere.

So please, ether remove this horrible skin-tone blending feature on armor, or let us control it!

This is not as much a whining-complaining post, as it is a request for your help~ Primarily a request for help from artistically talented people xD

I have a serious issue with Sylvari cultural armors~ I can’t work around the skin-tone blending into my armor -.-
Point is – I got used to changing colors a lot on my draconic armor set… From dark colors to light, from black&white schemes to colorful stuff~ That’s just something I do for fun (even though my stylistic talents lie far below average human being) Now, I was thinking that when I get my SHINY GLOWING supa-dupa cultural armor, I still will be able to switch tones and colors randomly From black with white shine to colorful mayhem~ And that was true for a while, when I first got my T3 helmet, T3 gloves and boots. Probably because skin color wasn’t so obvious on those pieces of armor.

But then I bought T2 chest and leggings (I have no money for T3 chest/legs yet T_T), and that was the ultimate fail xD Cuz you see, what I considered as a “randomly light skin tone” during creation of my character, now turned out to be a horrible gooey puke color O_O It wasn’t so obvious back then… But now that color creeps into my armor all over the place _ I make it all gray – horrible goo stays on my legging and chest (and as I can see now, on other parts as well)… I make it ALL black – pukey goo is still there, and quite a lot of it! >_< I switched to red scheme: goo strikes back with even MORE ugly color blend, obviously goo has a special form of hate for red color

Now… I know it’s a “feature” and I also know that if used properly it makes our sylvari look awesome~ I understand that my “goo” color was a serious mistake, now when I know how much I love to change armor colors~ I also checked your amazing screenshots in other topics, so I have no doubts about artistic possibilities of it~

My question is: which skin tone is the most neutral for BOTH dark and light versions of armor. Because, as I said before, I love to change tone of armor from time to time, and changing skin tone every time I want to do it – is quite expensive. What I need is a color that will look at least moderately nice with both dark and light schemes.

For a second I thought that I will see in this topic a “guide on how to find a gf in Toypocalipse”… Or a story of a love at first sight during the toy-slaughtering mayhem… xD

It really is a bit boring, in my opinion.
What kinda ruins it I think is the fact that 2 waves repeat over and over with no difference at all for 5 times xD Well… Maybe they scale up a bit in difficulty, but not really much. Though maybe it’s just my expectations for a prize were a bit higher I think that for the time spent there we should get something special at least on the first run, just like we did in Tixx dungeons these days~
But anyway, I’ve got into really good team and we completed it on the first run :P
And of course I enjoyed slaughtering these little screaming innocent lady-doll pests with my super duper poooper toy sniper rifle. Pop! Headshot! Pop! Headshot! Bring your dauhg…toy to the slaughter!
