Before anyone says “Your mad because your server is last”, no, we are first in our bracket for this week, and by and Landslide. After a week of Season 1, I have come to the conclusion that WvW is done for, so long as there are seasons.
I really expected to see the best, show up and play their A-Game. Instead, ALL I have seen is commander keep people at bay waiting for a Flip. Tag, UnTag, Milita, Roamers, Guilds, EVERY single one of them has done the same thing this week. Flip.
I thought WvW was pitting server vs server. Instead it has turned into an Achievefest. 7 weeks of this? Is this going to be 7 weeks of “Lets drain SMC so that we can build walls.” or “Lets not build siege so that they can over run Lords Room”. No one is even trying. All people want to do is get their Achieves, and yet no one is looking at the bigger picture.
It seems that every time ANET adds Achieves, something gets overran with issues. I am sorry to say, but this Season WvW will ALWAYS be like this in the future. People want Titles, Points, Gifts, etc. Putting it into the masses, on the scale of three combined servers, just turns the mechanics of what WvW was, to something else. It seems more PvE then WvW. Zergs walking past another, while map chat keeps saying “Let them cap it, leave it alone!” Really sad to see this go down this way.
The change of Tiered WvW was already bad. ANET said “HEY its GREAT! No more fighting the same people for months at a time!” Now its " If your the top 3 servers, you are guaranteed wins every few weeks, since we will place you with servers that cant even come CLOSE to you in a match up. The logic in that makes no sense. Lets reward the Third place Server a win by placing them against the 4th and 6th place server.
Whats the CLOSEST point spread between the third place server vs the fourth? 100K+ Whats the CLOSEST point spread between the top 3? They have ALL changed rank for all top 3 spots. Has number 4, 5, or 6 even come CLOSE to placing at #3? NO! 5 and 6 cant even take down 4 (Which currently is TC) without losing by a 100-200k. Yet ANETS view is that it makes it fun to TRY and take on a server that beats you by 100s of thousands of points, because its NEW people.
If I may, since this is ANETS view, then why cant #6 play against #13? 13 has no chance to win anyway, but seeing that 6 has played just about every server above them, why not give them something new?
This Event, has just made WvW even worse. First is the illogical match ups. Now is the skill-less Achieve trading. If thats going to be the case…….
Well I am looking for a server that is focused on WvW and not the rush of getting Achieves. Those will come within 7 weeks of playing. If your organized, have people in WvW 24/7 (Not a server that has Peak hours, looking for all around Capping at all hours) then send me a whisper.
Not looking to offend anyone, this is just my opinion. I enjoyed WvW being coordinated prior to the Season. I really dont care for the achievement greed.
With the new Living World event, and the tons of people guesting on servers who have downed Teq, there seems to be an issue.
Disconnects. At first I thought it was me. After reading the Logs I get a memory issue, per the log. Yet Ive got the same issue on 2 2013 model Laptops, one an Alienware built for gaming, and a newly BUILT, not bought, gaming PC, not including the one that I am writing this on. Same error on ALL PCs and Laptops. All drivers updated, all software updated. None of the desktops are integrated vidcards, all cards are middle to expensive vcards. Yet I keep getting this error……..until……..
Ive asked people in the guild, in mapchat, etc, and I am byfar not the only one. Lots of people are complaining of this. I cant go over to someones house to verify their PC specs, but believing half the people that I speak to, there seems to be a running issue. The things I keep getting are basically the same.
-Only happens within the last month, or two
-Never happens in open world PvE, more so when the height of boss farming in certain locations created Overflows
-Never happened during the Scarlet Invasions (Intresting because zones were at capacity at the height of this event)
-Only happens with Cross Servers, ie WvW, and guesting for LARGE events such as the new Teq
Even worse, most of the times it happens at the END of the event. Now why are we punished on this I dont know. If you start the event and see it till the last 1 minute, then get booted, you get no rewards, no achieves, and a big welcome to Overflow.
I really think this needs to be fixed or the bug worked out. People are being punished for staying the entire fight, then getting booted at the last second. People who come in with 2 minutes left still get some sort of reward even for doing the bare MINIMUM of an event.
Sadly this isnt an issolated incident. It can be repeated by those of us getting the error for this over and over. I can run any other PC game at full settings, and never have an issue with crashing. I run GW 2, and since early August, I seem to have this issue over and over on multiple computers. Not just I, but lots of people.
Some sort of reply or fix to the reward systems for players staying in game and actually doing the event for its run, should be implemented, as opposed to rewarding AFKers who come at the end, or hit a few times and stand by to watch and reap the rewards, would be appreciated.
This Thief is flying through walls, its really odd. This plus the invisi forever (Just about) ruins the mechanics of WvW. If the contesting was legit, I would not say a word, but this is out of hand. Past few days and nothing is done. Can really report if you lose target as fast as you get it. Cant get a name unless they accept party invite. Rather old, yet nothing gets done.

I will continue posting this until something is done. If i get banned, then others from server will continue the post until this is acknowledged. This has been posted in WvW and ANET has refused to acknowledge this issue.
There is a thief from the PINK guild, that is contesting SMC and Garrison from TC, for 5+ hours at a time. They are constantly using Thiefs arrow and climbing up the walls, then teleporting inside the respective keeps. This has been mentioned a few times in the forums, yet not one thing has been done about it. So, is ANET allowing this bug to go on even though its been reported for days, or is this something that will be fixed? OR is this something that is intended, and we all should be abusing Theifs Arrow to contest and take over every part of the map?
Seeing the lack of reply on this matter is beyond my comprehension. All the post from ANET about banning modders, hackers, exploiters, etc, never seems to matter when it comes down to it. However, someone such as myself who gets tired of seeing this being taken advantage of, reports it in a way to get ANET’s attention, just to get a temp ban. Seriously, where is the common sense in this?
This could be a pistol skill too, however Ive seen it happening on the SW corner of SMC for hours, and its the same person from the same guild on SoS. They wont accept party invites so I cannot log the name, but I do have SS of them and the contested areas. One of the other post has an actual video posted.*
Easily done, eat food. Lets see, lets take away healing from all toons, but if you eat regen food, it heals you full in about 3 ticks. Go up against a team of people using it and the score is 500-40.
Im guessing this was intended since it seems like everyone I run up against is doing it now. Cant kill someone with these buffs on.
Oh well, let’s see what else there is to do and try to enjoy in its intended way. Dragon Ball pretty much failed.
So I have been reading a ton of post on this new, in effect for two weeks, World WvWvW match ups. I have read a bit of posting by DC. It seems that all we are getting is a “Well it’s only 2 weeks old, give it time….” or “Well EU is using it and look at their results…” or “There will be a few blowouts…” but really nothing on “Yeah, the results the team is seeing is beyond what we anticipated. We really need to take a look at this and crunch the numbers.” Now why have we not seen that last comment? Let me point out some numbers, that ANYONE can see, more so the dev. team.
First lets not look at Tiers, lets just crunch numbers and look at rankings? Simple numbers here, without the tier borders. Written at 1pm PST

So far in the top three matches, we have severe blowouts. This is not a few, this is not some sort of randomness, this is pure imbalance. In a few days since WvWvW rest, and new matches were formed, the top ranked teams are blowing out those that are ranked a distance from them. “Oh but not everyone is having this issue….” TRUE! Look at this match up!

Wait a minute………that makes no sense at all. 9, 10, 11 all get to face each other, and look at the scores. A great match up, a balance in rankings, and no severe blow out.
First there were tiers, now there is some other calculation. We keep reading from Devs that the numbers might be tightened up in a few weeks to bring the matches closer to each other. Whats the wait? The numbers have been there since last year. HoD was number 1 for a while with UA on the server. Then they left and other Servers moved up. Kaineng was last, and they moved up, are we not looking at the numbers? How is the new system doing a thing to balance the match ups?
Yes lots of people complained about seeing the same teams in the same “Tiers”. What those people did not see was simple, the teams in the Tiers deserved their place in the Tiers. Tier 1 was the top 3 rated Servers. If you wanted to be in Tier one, and your server was Ranked 4 (Then you were in tier 2), you needed to win, post numbers, and do better then the 3rd ranked team in Tier 1. What was the flaw in this system? It made sense. The best played against the best, and the great had a chance to become the best. Not, the best get to trample over the okay, and the okay just kind of sits back and watches their numbers go stale.
Instead of trying to figure out new numbers for match ups, the focus should be a better job at balancing server match ups. It was not an issue so much before, it is a bigger issue now. You know it’s bad when you have those “Steamroller” servers apologizing to those servers that are not at the same level as they are. Read the threads. I cannot say it enough, do not take my word for it, read the threads, the comments, the “Wow you got a bad roll of the dice…” etc.
I’m all for game enhancement, but I really think this is bad idea the way it is. There should have been much tighter numbers constraints then what we presently have. Many of us do not see a need to wait weeks, months, etc for a fix. This can clearly be seen in the numbers that is provided currently. These are not made up numbers, these are from ANET. There are enough post to go on for days about this, I was just hoping to get something a little more then the above mentioned comments.
The gaming community would just like some updated info, and not generic answers about the state of the match making. Surely there is a need for a fix, surely there is more info about the state of the current situation that can be provided to us.
(Tiers, Rankings, Etc are to be taken in the context provided here. Some may understand them in other meanings, but the way I have presented them here, are a way, many, but not all understand the system.)
It is easy to say “Your DPS wasn’t as good as you think it was”, yet you avoided the comment entirely. The DPS is good, the players all know their builds. The boss cannot be done with just any party makeup. That is the point they were trying to make. If you can show that you did it with a mixed party, POST patching (Not when she was vulnerable when stealthed) then please post a dated screenshot of her downed, with your party composition, from that moment. If not, then anyone, including I, can make a smart remark about their DPS too.
Support your claim with proof, and don’t troll.
Before, anyone says “Hey, they are raging” no, this is not a rage post. I am asking that anyone who wishes to comment and make claims, do so with Dated Photo Screen Capture Proof. If you have a Screenshot with no dated proof, then do not post a comment in saying “I cleared this and you guys are just bad.” Anyone can make up claims, I am saying, please back it up to prevent a rage war.
I have ran every dungeon and every path, SM and Exp, with the exception of Arah 1,3, and 4. We had a guild group, not a pug, of experienced players. Our team build was:
Mesmer – High DPS
Ele – High DPS
Ranger – High DPS
Ranger – High DPS
Warrior – High DPS
All geared, and all very experienced in their class. All change traits, swap weapons for others, used buffs, etc, basically change during the course of a run for whatever the situation was presented. We all use TS3 and are very coordinated in our attacks. However…….
Dwayna in P4, can’t be done. It is that simple. Not with OUR setup. We had no issues with any bosses, once we got down their patterns. But Dwayna? She cannot be completed without having a basic setup. I thought the game was playable by all, and the need to play as a group was important for Dungeons. After all, isn’t that why ANET nerfed WP Speed Rezing? They wanted us to play as a team?
So why are we punished when we play as a team? Why can’t we pass a certain boss in a path, just because we dont have the party make up to pass her, but we have the make up for every other boss we have EVER come across. Why is that we HAVE to HAVE multiple 80’s classes so that we can run a dungeon and swap midway, just because the game mechanics FORBID you to play the way ANET wanted us to play? As a team?
If getting a class to 80, and playing as a team, is what ANET envisioned, then why are there no achievements for having multiple 80’s? If I make a Mesmer, and get to Arah P4, in a group OTHER THEN Zerk Warriors, and Guardians, why am I not able to complete it? Why must I play a class that I did not level, just in order to run a dungeon in a game? Why force people to play the game the way it was intended, and nerfed too, if not all classes are capable of running into a dungeon and completing it?
What does this have to do with P4? Simple, a few players in the group have multi 80’s if not 1 of every class. Others do not. Why should those that leveled a class, not be able to run a path if it was intended for certain class make up only. Every other dungeon doesn’t seem to have this problem, but P4 really shows it. Your either forced to conform to the few party builds on the net, or you just simply dont pass it, because you invested your time and money into a class that cant run with a specific party for P4. Seriously, the nerf to WP rez was un needed. The refusal of a DR for mob Knockdown implementation, seems unjustified (Ever have a bad day in AC and spend 30 minutes just trying to get to the last boss? Sure they want you to clear the mobs, but if your going to make that a tedious task for your fellow gamers, by adding a ton of KD mobs that give loot as good as normal mobs outside of the dungeon, what do you expect people to do?) The requirement of forcing players into the 3/2 Zerk Guardian Party (Or any other of the most COMMON P4 party recommendations) just seems unfair to fellow gamers who dont have those toons at 80, or see no need to level one, simply because those classes are not their play style.
If you have a Screenshot of our team makeup, and Dwayna dead, then please feel free to post, so long as it is POST Patch, IE recently. I don’t wish to see your post of your completion prior to any patches, simply because LOTS of players did it when she was vulnerable during stealth. Not all, and I respect those that did it with a party made up of all classes, post nerf.
Yes, we have run and failed dungeons MANY times. We have spent hours in dungeons that should probably take less time. I enjoy playing the game, and learning, as opposed to reading and getting a heads up on what to expect, I enjoy the game for the way it was meant to be played. I just feel this forcing a party build to run any dungeon path, is unfair to those that have a different class.
I am writing this as a concern for fellow guild members, and not myself. I can run any class and any build. I understand not every person is capable of such, however, why should they be punished if they are fully geared, but just playing the wrong class? Since when did being the wrong class exist in GW2?
Same issue here, and CS isn’t even mentioning it, on twitter or here, that it is an issue with some players after the update. Still waiting for a reply. Just added 2k gems and cant even play the game. Wtg………….
GW2 Login Error after New Content Update

As of the new patch for the date of 5/14/2013, I have yet to login to the game server. Every attempt has been met an Login Server Error. Nothing has been changed, firewalls have been both on and off, content is downloaded but the Login server won’t let me in. The name and pw are correct, and everything else has been checked on my end, There is nothing wrong over here. I am wondering why CS has yet to respond to anyone else with this problem, as of this new update, on other outdated post, with posting dates of today.
This clearly is not a random issue if many people are posting about it.
