Suggestion: "Gem Store Skin Items to Charges"

Greetings everyone,

Now to open up a discussion regarding the Skin Item Pieces bought in the Gem Store, it has come to my attention, and possibly others as well, that when a player buys a set of appearance skin items from the Gem Store they can “use” this item to have a “Free-Charge” on to skinning it to the chosen piece of item in-game. However, this is not always the case as many of us, myself included, would buy a whole pack of skin sets from the Gem Store simply for two or three pieces of the set, what happens to the rest of it I wonder?

You have a few choices, you can either leave it in your Inventory, Bank or another Character, but it’ll take space, and the latter will conclude in many skins also having the same issue, or you can simply destroy it, but you won’t have that “Free-Charge” for that particular piece of skin, so you’d lose it.

How’bout if you could get a free Transmutation Charge for each skin you bought from the Gem Store and destroyed because you didn’t want to use it at that time or had no use for it at all, that would ensure you get a charge from it at least and, if so wished to skin it in the future, and still have the charge, you can do so. This would help in both Inventory Space and give the item some usefulness in the future to those many players who usually buy sets for two or three pieces. This shouldn’t become an issue with the current Transmutation Charges being sold in the Gem Store, because they’re sold in greater quantities and cheaper than that of a full Skin Set, but it’d be a nice bonus to have if we decided not to use the skin, a charge for future use.

Once the skin item is destroyed, it should permanently vanish from your Inventory, Bank or anywhere you stashed it and will become a Transmutation Charge within your Account. There’s no way to exploit this because once it’s destroyed, it becomes a charge and you cannot get another Item Skin unless you’d bought it from the Gem Store, and you wouldn’t need too as you’d have it unlock in your Wardrobe, you’d just need the Transmutation Charge to use it again.

Hopefully, if Anet ever implements this, they’d have to make sure not to make the Hall of Monument Skin Items, Achievement Points Skin Items and other repeatable Skin Items obtained In-Game to NOT have this function, as it can lead to an exploit, best just be Gem Store bought skins.

What do you all think? I feel my Bank and my many characters would feel lighter and relieved.

Living Story Mastery: Ascended Trinkets

Hello everyone,

I’m very excited with the addition of Ascended Trinkets being available as rewards in the new Living Story Season 2, specially with their neat Attribute combinations and the names.

I noticed however, that both the Episode 1 Forgotten Band and the newest episode, Epidose 5, Caithe’s Blossom have the same artwork and are the same icon. The background on each is colored different, but the image representing the item, sort of a twisted spiny vine forming a band with a crown of golden spines at the center rim with purple energy is the same for both.

The Forgotten Band is viewed from a central normal viewpoint, whereas Caithe’s Blossom is seen facing downwards and in a sort of diagonal pose.

These items both share the same artwork, and my question is, why?

Isn’t the “Forgotten Band” tied to The Forgotten at all? And Caithe’s Blossom should be a blossom in fact? Or is the “Forgotten Band” simply just that, a band that got forgotten and left there, and we got to pick it up, turns out that later we discover it’s Caithe’s Blossom, or are the artwork on both items simply “recycled” and “copy-paste”?

Goemm's Lab Bugs

I like doing jumping puzzles a lot, and also create new Personal Achievements of mine, like the “0 Deaths Achievement” where I must Complete 100% World Completion and be a Lv 80 Character without dying.

So far, I had achieved one important and dire task, to complete WvW on my Engineer Character Asura 100% without ever dying, and my was this an achievement.

I went exploring for a bit, as I always do, to enjoy leveling and other things in the new Re-Vamped Starter Areas, and took some new players to the Goemm’s Lab, among other secret labs like Calx’s, Oola’s, etc.

Goemm’s Lab is a 4 Level Jumping Puzzle, where you need to collect an Energy Attunedment Buff in each level to progress to the next. Falling in this Jumping Puzzle won’t kill you, that is if you don’t fall on a branch or something on the platforms, you’ll simply be teleported back to the entrance and can resume your Jumping Puzzle by choosing the Station you’re saved at, sort of like a Checkpoint, talking to the nearby Assistance Golem.

Currently, Goemm’s Lab has certain Bug Issues concerning Lv 1 and Lv 3’s Gate. Once you obtain the Energy Attunedment Buff, if you cross the End Gate to proceed to the next level, it won’t let you, you will instead be teleported back to the beginning of that level and will tell you an error has occurred, but despite using the buff many times, you cannot advance, the only way is by falling and being sent back to the entrance can the assistant golem then give you the next option, which is the next level, for some odd reason. This is not working as intended, I’m sure of it.

On another note, I just lost my 0 deaths Personal Achievement when I tried to cross the Windy Vines in the first level. Naturally if you’re blown away, you fall and teleport back, but I didn’t, and neither did my group. I fell and never teleported back, and kept falling until I finally reached the bottom of the map, the ground, and I died, loosing that 0 deaths, after finally completing WvW 100%, I feel a bit furious, but nothing I can’t do, after all it’s not a real achievement, but a personal one, however, I can notify that these issues are definitely not suppose to be there. If you fall, you’re suppose to be teleported back.

I, alongside some of my friends, tested that level 1, 2 and 3 has many areas that if you fall, you won’t be teleported back, you will keep falling and die because of it.

- Level 1 End-Gate won’t take you to Level 2, even with the Buff.

- Level 3 End-Gate won’t take you to Level 4, even with the Buff.

Hope these issues can be fixed, as it’s one of the best Jumping Puzzles due to the length and dynamic of it.

Now, to go and Delete my Engineer, I guess, and retry again the arduous task of completing WvW without ever dying…

I’ve noticed the never-ending complain and issues encasing the town clothes and their tonic forms.

I’m aware that due to many issues such as class weight, clipping issues and even the whole usage of those items if say a “mix-and-match” will bring forth many other problems that will definitely break certain aspects of the game. As of now, we have discovered that town clothes as tonics have no use. While doing surveys around the game and asking people what they thought about this issue, we’ve found that more than 85% of the players who own a piece of town clothes as tonics has no use for them and has either deleted them(which is a bad option) or placed them in the Trading Post for someone to buy them.

We’re aware that the new wardrobe is a much more grand and advantageous solution, I agree, but the tonics are really, in our most honest opinions, rendered useless.

We can see the tonics now have a sort-of full clothing attire to it, but cannot be dyed and that brings some problems, as well as the fact that you cannot fight with them, which leaves them only with the choice of standing in any main city and showing them to other players, the same one as the next guy without any individuality, which is what GW2 is all about.

I, and many others would like to see these Town Clothing Tonics be changed for outfits instead. They can keep their current selection of full attire, like the khaki tonic now has the Gw2 T-shirt and the common clothes shoes. This selection is not a problem, however if they were outfits, they would have a much larger usage and role, as they could be dyed and offer some individuality as well as fighting with them, which will integrate these into the game, instead of leaving them aside with no use.

Items like the cook’s outfit is a unique one offering different appearance variations according to the race equipping it. The common Town Clothes offered this same uniqueness, and to why it was converted to a tonic and not an outfit, I’m unsure.

The common town clothes can be changed to an outfit while also adding gloves or any other pieces ANET feels it may need as an outfit to be completed, and the same goes for the other tonics who only have 3 pieces. This will open a wider variety of choices for players throughout GW2 when it comes to Outfits.

If you look at the common town clothes you’ll notice they’re colored with abyss and scarlet red, and cannot be modified, this meaning to coloring the parts. If there were a possibility to turn these tonics into an outfit in the future, it will be most beneficial for players who collect outfits and will become an addition to the new wardrobe system, offering more options. Remember, tonics take inventory and/or bank space, and will have no use other than transforming you for a small duration and perhaps showing your friends in main cities or around the land your clothes which the guy next to you also has in the exact same way.

I know many who have already asked for refunds and the numbers are rising, so I ask this question to the GW2 community:

Do you find a use to clothing tonics or would you rather see them convert to outfits allowing dyeable options to the current existing appearance of each of those tonics but as outfits?
