I can’t find any groups for it. At all.

Even went to Tarnished Coast and the overflow has 3 people (that includes me). Can’t leave overflow as I just get a connection error whenever the game offers to switch me over.

Guest to Tarnished Coast. TC is almost always has a zerg going, plus you’ll be put into overflow, which is ironically more crowded than many of the main servers.

(1) This isn’t a buff, but rather a revert to what already existed.

(2) Overall, it’s a nerf, since other Thief abilities and mechanics are being hit.

(3) I’ve fought MANY thieves, and I honestly don’t see what the problem is. The vast majority of them cause no issue. For one to deal significant damage, they have to be in your face and be built Beserker’s … hit them once or twice and they die. Ranged Thief? Nearly useless. Stealth Thief? Just as useless … you shouldn’t die to one unless you suck at the game.

Harsh, but true.

Let’s reflect on what a Stealth Thief is, alright? They rely on a mechanic that they can only use once every 4 seconds due to Revealed to get a hit that only dose 50% more damage than their regular damage … do the math, and the damage LOST due to this is hilarious. Any time they are in stealth or trying to get in stealth or trying to properly maneuver is damage wasted.

Oh, and don’t forget the fact they can get damaged REGARDLESS of their visible status. Do you know the kind of people that don’t get killed by thieves? The kind of people that understand what an AOE is … and if you’re character is low on those, spamming your 1 skill is fantastic. Thieves (specifically Stealth builds) are really easy to predict … they all do the same thing because they HAVE to do the same thing. Use that to your advantage.

There are only THREE instances where a thief can kill me:
(1) They were part of a zerg … unless you’re a Guardian, you’ll die in nearly any zerg.
(2) I got caught off guard or already low on HP from a just finished fight.
(3) They are simply just better than me. There ARE players out there better than yourself … you have to accept that.

Moral of the story:
Stop kittening about every class and how everyone is OP … learn to counter the enemy and accept the fact that you WILL die eventually and that there ARE players better than you. Get over yourselves.

What if culling is unfixable?

It’s been 7 months, and culling remains badly broken. worse yet, one class can leverage it to remain stealthed during entire fights without speccing for high stealth and get the highest burst dps of any class. further, said class get 50% run speed.

The apologists defend stealth as it is, blaming the problems on culling, even though in spvp, thief dps has been significantly nerfed for balance. So my question is, what’s the plan for stealth once it’s clear that culling cannot be fixed. I personally think culling wont be fixed, so i am anxious to see a backup plan.

Thieves have kitten defenses, with their mobility and stealth being their ONLY real line of defense. Nerfing stealth harder than it already has been is stupid and nearsighted for anyone to suggest.

In fact, we should remove Stability and Retaliation from any heavy plate class, because you what, how dare they be able to live. To hell with it, let’s also remove their Vitality and Toughness stacking. And rangers should have their pets removed, how dare they have a pet for them to help stay alive. Mesmers? kitten their illusions, obviously the whole cause of server lag. They should just take a beating to the face like a man.

Spawn Camping: A valid tactic?

Today I logged into Eternal Battlegrounds, excited for some good fights when I saw two commander tags at the Blue spawn point. I rolled my eyes and immediately knew what was happening. I ran down there to take a little peek and I was shocked. My server had set up SIEGE to spawn camp the other server…

Is this a valid tactic? Or does it just show the low morality of my server? I for one am ashamed and feel terrible. Essentially, I feel that the Blue team’s overall experience was being ruined by these members. I won’t mention names of either server, but I’m sure they know who they are.

There are three exits to the main spawn. It’s really hard to truly spawn camp.

Now to drain the lake in the middle of the BL’s, make it full of terrain, and the little quaggan nodes (ponds now) worth points…

Keep the water and make the nodes worth points anyway. Significant water battles is what WvW is missing.

I’m from SF and I seriously doubt T7 will be at all easy for us. Our strategy isn’t refined anywhere close to the level it needs to be, and communication / organization isn’t that great.

What’s funny is that a good 85% of the fights I’m a part of in WvW (SF player) generally involves the following:

— Enemies totaling x2-x5 the size of my force
— Both ET and FC attacking just SF locations at all times (because apparently they need two servers to take back 20% of a map for an hour before we take it all back)
— The ET or FC zerg wiping (90% chance)

I mean kitten guys, when 4 SF can kill an entire ET zerg (35+) after the wall goes down (with no siege to help), that’s sad. Very sad. And this is not an isolated event, myself and a few others do similar battles (and win) on a daily basis.

And seriously guys, failing 70% of all SM raids when there is an entire server knocking at the northern AND another server at the South-eastern gates … wow.

I’m not saying SF is good (we’re in bottom Tier, so obviously not), we’re just not as bad. Please train your people. Thank you.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I’m impressed with the current change in power in ET, you guys are providing at least some resistance lately. Which cannot be said for FC, sadly.

Obviously, the increased rewards will be deemed “too high” and then cut back. How do I know this? Any time people like they are actually earning rewards in the game means it gets nerfed / scaled back fairly fast.

That warm, fuzzy feeling you had inside about actually earning some loot in WvW? Yeah, it was an oversight and will be corrected shortly.

Fortunately (lol?) being the best of the worst in WvW Tiers means my server has control of JP 99% of the time, so I need not worry about such things.

Cripple, Immobilize, and any AOE in existence has a good chance of screwing the Thief. Their high mobility is the trade-off they get of non-existent defensive stats.

I’ve yet to ever have a problem fighting any Thief in WvW. I AOE spam and they either leave or die.

I fail to see how this change is positive in any way.

Now it’s easier than ever to ninja-steal any location without the threat of Combat Swords unless the enemy has decided to keep constant, 100% watch of every location.

Come on AreaNet, why?

I’m a very active player in all faucets of Guild Wars 2 (PvE, PvP, WvW, etc) and I span various time zones, depending when and how long I decide to play.

My main is an 80 Thief with several different gear sets of Exotic (working on Ascended and Legendary).

Entirely willing to try out new and fun things (almost literally anything – I even made a Support thief gear set, ha!).

Looking for a very well populated / active guild that has interests in many GUILD-related activities. AKA, a very active guild that promotes guild runs of various content.
