Killeen and my Necro both take issue with your insinuation. Sylvari tend to be bubbly regardless of their profession. Well, most of us anyway.
All fall damage traits removed. Falling damage reduction moved to a Mastery Line (PvE) and a WvW Mastery Line (WvW). It allows incremental improvements in damage reduction, ending in a removal of self-knockdown time and a special effect when you take falling damage.
This frees up slots for more compelling choices.
The problem with this is the fact that people that don’t buy HoT will not have access to Masteries.
I’m pretty sure this is only true of the Heart of Maguuma mastery lines. I think the core PvE masteries will be given to everyone, much like the core specializations, whether they buy HoT or not. I could have misunderstood that though.
I dunno, I find them quite stem-ulating. I hate to leave you in a larch here, but I’m afraid I must branch off in a new direction. We should cultivate some new puns to add in to the game. There’s plenty of fertile ground for it. And I’m going to just stop right there before I dig myself any deeper.
But on a serious note, I do think there’s quite a lot of that kind of humor in the game, but that’s just part of Tyria’s charm. Would I complain if all the puns were removed and replaced with more serious content? Not necessarily, but I wouldn’t really want to advocate that either. I feel like the game has a nice balance of humor such that it reinforces the dramatic elements without taking too much away from them. That said, the sylvari do tend to be the worst offenders in the puns department. Though the norn can be quite unbearable as well. [/shot]
This would actually be really cool, I would love to see them implement something like this. The problem is that because it would be introducing a whole new mechanic to the class, I don’t see them doing it any time soon. Then again, enough people seem to support the idea of a defensive, offhand F2 skill for warriors, ArenaNet might just end up listening if we keep asking for it.
My sylvari main, Rosaera, in her tier 1 cultural armor. I still haven’t decided if I like this armor or the regular chainmail armor look better. They’re both really cool looking to me.
It’s pretty much a built in problem with the warriors in the game right now. You have your choice of either speccing your warrior out to be very defensive with less damage, or just say screw it and go full DPS and pray that your enemy dies before you do. In PvE or WvW, that can work, but in sPvP not so much.
I’m actually currently running sword/axe and rifle myself, and I find it’s working quite well, although I should mention I’m still fairly low level. The traits I have planned out are 0/25/0/20/25. I like the combination of leg specialist and opportunist, especially with the extra cripple added to the sword lately.
I’m not really a fan of sylvari with two names, given they’re all part of the same family, but it is a really cool name nonetheless. I’d say an 8/10.
My sylvari main’s name is Rosaera. I know, naming her after a rose is super original, but I liked the symbolism of a beautiful flower that is admired by many, but has thorns hidden to catch those who underestimate it unawares. I made her quite small and thin, and generally more cute than dangerous looking. But she’s a warrior who is quite capable of taking an opponent apart in a few seconds, and actually pretty durable too, despite her appearance. Her “thorns”, if you will.
