Not one single red reply? That is so disrespectful. You know of any other company that just flat out ignores playing customers legitimate complaints? People bought this game because of those spell effects and the way it looked and you full up just don’t even answer this thread? When I subscribe or buy and invest in a game as I have with this one I don’t expect to be told or pointed to anything other than the official site to air my grievances. Reddit? Really? No. Why should any playing customer have to go to a 3rd party site for any information. That’s bad manners.
HoT was so far from the original realised idea of Guild Wars 2 it pushed me the girlfriend and playing friends back to Warcraft, and yeah I was a pre order beta guy here. The visual nerfs and the fact you actually merged them without officially replying was the final kick in the teeth.
Least I can pop back in the future I guess but in the mean time my moneys being spent elsewhere which is a shame as we enjoyed our time here.

Yes im probably a terrible player blah blah blah but HoT is just not the Guild Wars 2 i have been playing for the last 3yrs. I don’t solo play all the time in fact i spend the majority playing with my gf but even as a pair the games just too frustrating and difficult. Im still on the first map and have only half the WPs open as it takes forever to get anywhere with everything aggroing every few seconds and getting 1shot by champions or snipers/poison. The games still just made for zergs,sure occasaionally we bump into a large group doing stuff which we’ll follow and join in but its the same events that don’t lead to other places all the time . Bought the game for the new Elite skills which it looks like i simply wont be able to open with the huge grind for masteries and insane amount of HP needed that no one is about to do in the areas. I leveled 1 char to 80 questing got map completion in the original and that gave me half the points. The other i lvlled crafting or tomes/Eotm so they have no points. Why wasn’t this made clear when they created the expac so people could try running HP in the old world before it launched? My gear i swapped from zerker to rabid for a bit more toughness and went MM build to help which it does to an extent but running around on your own or 2 of you to find around every corner 5 -6mobs and 2 vets has got old fast. The old world you could play as you wanted enjoy it at your own pace. It was a casual game no hardcore stuff which is we i came here in the first place,where you could explore huge landscapes . This new place is claustrophobic on rails stupidly overpacked with mobs and frustrating to navigate and even have a clue where to go. Want to go that way? Oh you cant because you haven’t opened up mushrooms or gliding or whatever grrr.I feel genuinely like they have kicked their old players in the teeth ripped up the so called manifesto and just said we dont care about the original GW2 anymore. Frustrated and disapointed with the direction the game is moving in,and sadly im looking at other games to play. Bottom line is i’m not hardcore and play to have fun casually which is what GW2 advertised themselves as,not to be frustrated and peed off. I have the horrible feeling that from the direction the games headed and the map chat which seems to have taken a real nosedive the Warcraft “leet” “Git gud skrub” crowd has moved over here in large number since the F2P . Sad times.

Scalable dungeons would be great ,one of the things i love about Rift is the 2 player dungeon type things they do so just me and the girlfriend can play how we want without being hassled for not running the “accepted” cookie cutter builds and just having fun.

Can log into GW2 fine no problems been playing the pw just doesnt work for GW1 . Only linked for the HoM rewards regret doing so now lol.

Hi – i linked my GW1 + 2 accounts and havent played 1 in a very long time., well seems i can no longer access account it says invalid pw. I have checked here and they are deff linked. I ve tried the old original GW1 @ncsoft + pw nothing and also the new GW2 pw + email as that is supposed to be the one i now use. My GF is in exactly the same boat we came back for the new GW2 patch and nostalgia led us back to the original . Posting here as she has sent numerous emails and no reply ,seems GW1 is not supported or is being ignored by GMs. Any GMs here can help us out please?

Ok first up like the idea of the new dailys,Orr mobs look better ,lots of other nice little tweaks but you know what im gonna say right… yeh combo what?!
Thats all we’ve seen all night and peeps are not happy. After sussing what was supposed to happen it well didnt…
Example- on my Guardian i dropped wall of relection-leap of faith through 1 shotting the low lv queensdale mobs. I clearly have the firey orb combo buff on me have killed the mob with the buff on yet not counting. So i get a mesmer friend to drop fields im whirling through,leaping,hammering getting the buff but no kill credit.
You’ve turned the daily into the weekly for me and others. Peeps logging off very angry that they’ve lost a daily achi. I know your looking into the problems but perhaps make it clearer for people how they go about the combo kills? I mean some like to quest alone and not team up – fair enough ,but can they make their own combos and get credit for it or must they group up?
Just join the zerg in Orr a few said. Ok… 35mins on guardian lots of action and after all that time10%. I finally logged off another grumpy guildie with 30%. /sadface

Been much better this week on Aurora Glade EU. No gold in letters for 4days in a row . I always report every spammer/letter i get and encourage others to do the same. We can erradicate this problem peeps lets drive them outta here!

Personally i think if this was my 1st ever mmo i would be severely dissapointed in any other game! . Played loads of f2p and p2p and this is to me by far the best . Seriously i tried the free wow 1-20 trial recently and it was just so lame in comparison to GW2 its shocking. Keep up the good work Anet you guys are making a lot of people very happy

Common Anet wheres the GW2 T-shirts? We all saw the examples and the the one missing was ofc the white red GW2 logo so bring that out, but where is the black lifestyle T-shirts you promised us? Dont make us go to a cheap dodgy chinese site for some shoddy merchandise with wonky stitching! :P

Yes you can, i have the dodge button on the side button. Though for some reason it wouldnt let me use the middle mouse scroll wheel, though that could be my mouse playing up possibly…

Sadly AMD love em or hate the processors just dont cut the mustard compared to the i5’s even the i3 though i hope AMD get some love in the patches/fixes which is a shame cos im upgrading soon and was tempted by the FX4170 or the Fx8000series for the price but every review ive found comparing to the i5’s is showing at least a 20+ FPS jump on GW2. AMD are bringing their new stuff out nxt month i hear so lets hope they really roll the boat out and bring something decent for gamers that ll compete at reasonable prices. Im all for the underdog but if that underdog is 20+ fps below than gotta be sensible about it

Back on track – I also have the E8500 @3.25Ghz (old mob will not allow OC lol)
Hd6970 2gb – FPS 15-35 in town / outside pve alone 40-120 massive diff after changing my GPU from an old 9600GT 512mb . Is it CPU bound? Yes & No imo- all mmo;s are cpu bound to an extent as GW2 is a brand new game with 100’s running around so its gonna have a lot of stress on it but no doubt about it changing GPU has made the game 100x better while questing . My gf has upgraded from GTX280 to a HD6870 and the diff is massive like night /day . Personally im getting a new i5 cpu next month prob i5 3450 3.1Ghz maybe 3570k if money allows. I know from talking to guidlies this will make a big diff though the E8500 is still a v good processor more than capable. Check Toms Hardware they did a recent review of GW2 and the type of processors they used. They also do a cpu/gpu hierarchy chart just google it to show how good yours is. The Q8200 is an older cpu and way down the list now-GTS250 is also an older card check the listing. The FPS you ve posted look about right tbh and for a rig such as yours i really dont see the problem

Yup suffered some pretty bad lag last night 7-12pm on Aurora Glade last night,v noticable on guardian . Though have to say its the 1st bit of serious lag ive had myself since playing so fingers crossed Anet get it fixed asap

As said above, it might be a bit more hassle but find a small local PC shop and ask how much they would charge to assemble parts. PC world really are crap mate.
My build suggestion.
I5 3570k (k means it’s unlocked and can be overclocked faster)
Z77 motherboard, any of those are great and allow overclocking
7850 gpu
8-16gb RAM, 8 is all you need for gaming
DECENT power supply. Make sure its Bronze rated standard or higher. OCZ,XFX, are two good makes, though there are a few more. But really DO NOT skimp on the PSU mate. Shops and poor built PCs always put cheap budget ones in unless told otherwise to save money. This means in the future if you decided to add another gpu your PC wouldn’t handle it lol, and its needed for overclocking. PS id ask for a small OC to 4.2ghz.
That machine will be a beast for GW2 imo. Good luck

E8500 3.16Ghz user here with Hd 6970 2Gb- Have to say the game runs really well imo,sure cities crowded areas your gonna get frame drops but i av 15-25 in cities and pve fights, whilst questing normally getting av 60-70fps once hit 120 in the slyvari area lol. WvW is another matter i have to play on lowest settings and big fights are almost unplayable but if you keep away from the zergs its fine. Getting a quad core next week hopefully which will make a huge difference but the old E8500 imo is bloody good and still makes playing this game fun

Hi kinda in the same boat myself building a new rig for GW2, personally i think you d be better off with an i5 3570k if you decide your going to overclock,the board is ideal for that ofc very nice. GPU should max easily at 1080p dunno how many monitors your going for though. After much thought i decided against the overclocking route,so will choose the i5 3450 with Asus P8B75-V motherboard ,8Gb crucial ballistix ram with my HD6970 2Gb. Currently playing on E8500 3.16ghz with that card and its playing 15-25 crowded areas,cities etc but out questing PVE i;ve hit 120 fps with that card so very impressed though its norm 60-70 . So your card with that system will blast the game. Hope thats helped,btw i had that card and its not bad at all but replaced with the 6970 week before GW2 came out so never got to use it ingame. Ok today i get my very 1st green drop on my lv14 guardian in the human lowbie area, a nice 2h sword. WOW nice i think… 30secs later server crash everyone is kicked off on Aurora glade 9pm ish . Log back 10mins later sword is gone nothing. A green amulet drops from a mob though instantly which is ok though not my sword lol. Is this their way of reimbursing me or have i just got lucky and lost 1 of them? Is there a GM that can get the sword back for me maybe? Thanks anyways ;D
