What alternatives to Sinister trinkets and the Aristocracy runes would you recommend? I’m currently using Sinister armor with Krait runes and have Rabid trinkets slotted with Exquisite Ambrite jewels. Should I be opting for something else, or is what I have good in the interim until I get enough charged quartz for to craft the Sinister trinkets?

So, after installing Windows 8, I wanted a nice looking tile for Guild Wars 2 on my start screen since the default one was just the default icon smacked in the middle of a standard tile. I did up a simple custom tile design real quick and figured I’d share it. You can see the tile implemented on my start screen here.

For those of you running Windows 8, in order to use/create the custom tile, install OblyTile from XDA Developers, and create an entry for where your gw2.exe file is located, using the PNG image I’ve attached as the ‘tile image’. Now you have a nice and simple tile on your start screen for Guild Wars 2

Note: You can use OblyTile to create custom tiles for pretty much anything.

So… what’s the difference between traditional gear grind and “item progression initiative”? Because they’re pretty much the kitten same, except the latter sounds fancier.

Also, I’m pretty sure the only people who approve of this update are the ones who complained about there supposedly being no end-game content and begged for Anet to add it in. Also guessing those are the same players who have logged 1000+ hours.

I’m a causal player, and my main doesn’t even have a full set of exotic trinkets yet. The introduction of yet another item tier is extremely off-putting.

In my opinion, ArenaNet is pretty much throwing out the whole gear grind philosophy they so adamantly pontificated in their manifesto video by making ascended gear/weapons have higher tier stats than the current legendaries.

You can reproduce the bug by going into the Mad King dungeon in Lion’s arch, completing it, and then exit the instance. The boss FOV should stay active until the next time you relog.

While I agree that this would be nice if it was permanent, zooming out still has nothing to do with wide-angle. (this in response to the thread title). What it does is place your viewpoint a bit further behind/above your character, the angle you see is exactly the same.

Yeah, I honestly didn’t know what else to call it. I was basically referencing wide-angle lenses though – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wide-angle_lens

So, this is probably a bug, but after completing the Mad King’s dungeon in Lion’s Arch, the boss FOV stays active. Basically, it shows a lot more of the environment when you fully zoom out the camera distance.

With the recent addition of the beta FOV command line to the shortcut, would it be possible to maybe make this particular camera view another setting? I was thinking just another tick box in the settings somewhere to enable this kind of wide viewing angle.

I’ve linked some quick snapshots I took below with the boss FOV in random areas to give a sense of scale and what not. The reason I’d want this is it allows me to take in the landscapes of where I’m at, and not simply just focus on my character. Considering how amazing this game looks (even on my meager medium settings), having the choice to zoom out like this and play this way just makes sense to me personally.

Color me disappointed, but I’m over this. I only lost 2 gold due to this bug, and am now sitting on about 10 gold in the bank right now, and that’s after purchasing a full set of LEGIT level 80 exotic draconic armor for about 12 gold, and dropping 4 gold on max stat exotic weapons for my build.

Still though, not sure why Anet hasn’t taken the item off the TP. Do they not have the ability to even do that? I wonder how many people got screwed over up until now.

Put up my garbage bugged items for sale in the TP. No one’s buying them at a decent price; best you can probably make off these crap items is 1-2gold at best.

I’m seeing from some posters that the ANet team can actually Mail items to players.. Is this true? Or is this possible only from the gem store?

Either way, any kind of compensation would be nice. It’s still off-putting to me that GMs/Admins are quick to respond to lesser, more trivial issues on these forums.

It’s not hard to believe that the people who crafted the “exotic” draconic box of armor knew that the materials going into it are actually for rare/yellow items. They’re pricing what looks like an exotic/orange box of armor at exotic armor prices when they more than likely know it just contains rare/yellow armor and the cost for them to craft the box reflects that.

Well my point is, that does not matter.
They can price it at any way they want. If they named it the way it is called then they would scam you imo, but Name, Function and Look are completely by ANet.

It would be scamming if they went in /map and selling it and especially (falsely) stating that it gives you the Armor

Yeah, that makes sense too. I suppose it can go both ways though. Very situational/variable I guess, like perhaps one seller actually opened the box of exotic berserker draconic armor and saw that it actually spat out yellow armor, then decided to craft more of those boxes and sell them at exotic level prices, despite knowing the contents. Hard to prove, but its not like its impossible.

I don’t think anyone has said that. On here anyways. At any rate, I’m disappointed that this thread hasn’t been given some sort of response from a mod/gm/whatever.

A thread pertaining to a graphical/texture error (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/graphical-errors/first#post80628) gets a GM response relatively quickly but this one doesn’t even after a few days? Alright.

Same issue happened to me, as mentioned in the other thread. I actually sent in my support tickets (both in-game and via web) hours ago and haven’t gotten an email response at all.

Yeah, not sure how the above response email can say they can’t restore items when I know of someone who had their rytlock mini restored to their account after they deleted it.

I just hit Lv80 today and had farmed for the past 3 days because I loved the looks of the Draconic Armor and was looking forward to some cool looking gear once I hit 80. So I buy the box for 7g 50s and bam! out comes some rare gladiator’s gear, that’s only SLIGHTLY better then my Lv70 Exotic Armor.

Very very annoyed. Makes me lose interest in the game to be honest. That’s the most gold I’ve had ever.

Yeah, it’s weird… I really have no interest to play at the moment because of this mishap and the woeful lack of support I’ve read. I feel sorry for those of you who spent 7-10 gold for this. I managed to get the box from the TP at a little over 4 gold, but still, for a casual player like me, 4 gold is A LOT of in-game money at this point.

I mean, it’s very much possible that some (if not all) sellers crafting this item are taking advantage of the orange/exotic color, the ‘draconic’ name, and slapping on higher prices onto it because of that.

Welp, count me as another of the fallen to this scam/bug. Wish I had known about this earlier, I was just too excited to get my box of exotic/orange berserker draconic armor pieces to eventually transmute onto a tier 2 charr cultural set only to get owned after opening the box with a crappy set of rare/yellow berserker gladiator armor. I didn’t drop over 4 gold for the rare/yellow rated armor stats, ANet :/
