elite skills and what they lack

As a Mesmer I do feel like our skills kinda lack being ‘elite’ but they’re also very situational.

Moa Morph…. No, just no. I don’t really see the use or idea behind this skill.
Mass Invis is really only good in WvW if you’re in a small zerg.
TimeWarp is great in groups and dungeons but solo play it’s fairly useless and hard to get full use.

As a Sylvari I usually end up using the race elite ‘Take Root’, few seconds of invulnerability, turrets draw agro and they deal okay damage.

Completely agree. In fact I’d go as far to say that for a Mes most of the racial elites are more useful in situations outside of dungeon or small zero wvw. Its at the point where Im considering rerolling my human because I don’t like any of the racials. It wasn’t supposed to be like that.

Crafting to 80 is out of hand.

Poor hello-kitty online.

I wonder if they have a welcoming party set up for all these casual refugees from super hardcore games?

Help! I am addicted to GW2.

Points of Interest and Vistas - Remove them from the minimap

TLDR version in bold below.

There’s a ton of complaints flying around right now about the game not having enough content. I’ll admit I’m a “casual” player (I take the pursuit of excellence seriously, but I don’t have that much time to play) and I am no where near full map completion, but it seems to me that the game does make map completion too easy.

The world is fantastically beautiful (seriously this is probably the most well crafted world I’ve ever seen in an MMO), but I find too often I’m just ticking off markers on my map. I can understand that approach for things like hearts, skillpoints and waypoints. They’re the meat and bones of progression, and when I’m looking to advance in levels it’s great having them easily accessible because at that point in my playtime I’m not looking to screw around.

Points of Interest and Vistas are different though. They’re interesting and/or beautiful spots that really show off the level of detail that has gone into this world. The problem I have is that we as players look for them on a minimap. This doesn’t do them justice because too often players are treating them like another form of progression. Just another box to tick, grind map after map to tick 100% map completion. It makes something that should be about the joy of exploration into a set of tasks.

It might be too late for this, but I propose Vistas and Points of Interest be removed from the minimap. It would encourage people to make use of one of this game’s undeniable strengths, make map completion more challenging and engaging and encourage people to explore the world itself rather than the minimap.

Those looking to shoot to 80 would still have more than enough ways to do so, but would have “boxes to tick” all over the world once they had done so.

Not proposing map completion changes in any other way. Points of Interest and Vistas still give the same amount of reward etc. Perhaps a way of identifying a Point of Interest in the world (similar to Vistas) might be an idea.
