Why would ISP’s throttle connections to Arena Net but not Steam and Battle Net? I’m getting a slow download speed right now, but I can get fast download speeds from more popular services. It doesn’t really make sense.
It’s insanely overpowered. The cooldown on it is irrelevant. Any small skirmish is immediately ruined when someone uses this. Lately it seems like any time I go off to catch something off the radar a mesmer will show up with moa and all anyone can do is zzzzzzz. Supreme anti fun.
My guild transferred recently and I can’t transfer to the server because it’s full. I understand that WvW is unbalanced but this particular server isn’t even winning, or even close to it. This is pretty lame.
Yes, this is something I strongly feel is missing from the experience. A true motive for victory gives more purpose and makes everything much more exciting.
Let me clarify the change a bit since not everyone understands it.
If you run the exact same chain twice in a row you will have your rewards cut. This means you can bounce back and forth between 2 different chains, even in the same dungeon without ever hitting this change. This change is made to encourage people to try different chains.
If you speed clear dungeons at a rate of more than 2/ hour, and continue to do that for some time your rewards will slowly begin to degrade. It doesn’t kick in after running a single dungeon and it doesn’t immediately zero out rewards.
Finally we reduced the value of repeating the story mode, because they are built to be easier and we want to encourage those repeating dungeons to run explore mode.
Imo you guys should really shy away from transparent mechanics. Games should be easy to understand, and people shouldn’t be worrying about mechanics going on ‘behind the scenes’.
I was a ‘hardcore’ raider in WoW, in a guild that was top 50 in the world when I played. I took one look at how long it would take to get a dungeon set and still haven’t set foot in one besides finishing personal story. I’m currently a little confused as to how I’m going to upgrade my gear. I can craft, but I can’t get fine materials. I’m perpetually poor because farming is impossible and I like to port to my friends often. My other option is to ‘farm’ Karma, which is essentially the same as the dungeon grind if you maximize your route.
Another big problem is that ET has people transferring to other servers for information. Proof:
Fights like the shatterer and the megadestroyer are really fun, but how am I supposed to know when they’re happening? Can we perhaps get some kind of status of these kinds of events on the map?
I believe that’s just pretty typical in sPvP in general, at least in hotjoin matches where constant battle due to zerging is common. Thieves appear much more balanced in the tournament setting.
That’s a pretty interesting paradox, though. It’s interesting that they decided to change the number of players in tPvP and sPvP, because thieves are obviously too strong in pick up pvp and probably balanced in tournaments. The question is, will they attempt balance both or only balance tournament pvp and leave sPvP a mess?
Man, thieves are trying really, really hard not to get nerfed it seems. I know you’re having fun, but stop trying to justify it. In sPvP, players are in combat quite a lot, and it’s usually not 1v1. Therefore, players usually have to use their CC breakers and dodges a lot. What does that mean? Well, it means thieves get to run around and get free and easy kills on most people because they can’t do anything about it.
It’s getting frustrating to sPvP because of this. So far I’ve played necro, engineer, and elementalist and it simply isn’t fun. As those classes, you’re targeted by heavy burst classes and there’s nothing you can do about it.
CC breakers are usually always down in sPvP. And regardless, the damage thieves do is too high. You just can’t justify insane damage for any class by saying you should break stun.
You are -exactly- the person this post is referencing. You don’t bring any empirical evidence, just vague notions and complaints. No examples, no explanations, just “Waah, thieves hit too hard.”
If a thief is hitting you that hard, he’s glass cannon, or you are – there are ways to counter; Learn them, or get used to the feeling that every spec/class that beats you is OP.
No, you’re just being difficult in trying to justify blatantly OP class. It’s sPvP, you’re in combat all of the time and forced to use CC breakers all the time. You thieves know you’ll be getting nerfed because it’s obvious.
Like everybody says, they can roll a thief and immediately start destroying everyone without even knowing what they’re doing. That in itself is flawed design, and it will be addressed.
And it’s not like it’s difficult to point out people who’ve already used their CC breakers as a thief to get easy free kills.

I agree with 1-6. Another off the top of my head is the rifle #2 net never lands on moving targets. It’s really annoying to land this in PvP.
From what I’ve seen it has to be ranger. I play an engineer, and we have to press three buttons to equal the same burst from a ranger pressing one button. Our best burst is rifle with the static charge from tool belt.
I haven’t done it yet, and that’s because all of a sudden I need a group for it. Why isn’t there solo option for this? I find it extremely strange that the personal story was solo for 80 levels and then all of a sudden I have to group. Why? I mean, the battle for claw island was pretty epic solo. I don’t see why you guys did this, because I really don’t want to do this with random people and it’s going to take a while for my friends to reach this point.
I normally don’t complain but come on, this trend of not testing end game in beta testing is getting ridiculous. I just want to complete the story but every other quest I do is bugged.
The boss Sovereign Eye of Zhaitan goes invulnerable and it’s impossible to progress here.
Man, every other story quest I do is bugged beyond completion and it’s getting extremely annoying. This is why I hate betas that don’t test high level content, it happens in every single game. I don’t know why companies don’t learn from one another.
Sorry to do this, but I’m bumping this just to make sure it gets seen by anet.
I just got to this quest. Previously, too many undead would spawn at the defend the dock stage. But now after killing the undead at defend the docks the quest doesn’t progress. I literally ran around the entire map in and out of the water to look for something to kill but there were only risen knights at the front door.
I’m hoping someone at arena net sees this because they say they fixed it with the software update but all they did was break it in a different way.
