No one with the Surface Book?

A year ago there was a thread about how GW2 was playable on the Surface Pro 3.

I’m wondering if anyone has tried on the newer versions, the Surface Pro 4 or Surface Book with discrete graphics. Some reviews and benchmarks have given the Surface Book especially good ratings on LoL/Dota type games, so I’m wondering how it would fare on GW2 and other MMOs.

So is this new crafting process going to be any shorter than the existing gathering process? Because at the rate I play and given all that is required to collect for the legendary I want, I will literally never have it.

It would be nice if there were a method that doesn’t require sacrificing your entire life to get a nice weapon skin.

Will it work for updates or just new downloads?

If I haven’t updated my client on a secondary computer in a while, can I use this option to jump in and play while it updates data in the background?

When purchasing expansion packs in other games, they often come with additional character slots, especially if new classes are created in that expansion. I know I’m not the only one with at least 5 characters already created who would hate to have to part with an existing character or fork over more cash to not have to do so. Since we’re buying a new profession in the xpac, it would be nice if we would get an additional character slot to go along with it.

Any plans for that?

Thanks for the post! I was actually just asking about this. I’ll be in the market for a new tablet soon, but if I can get something that is portable and plays GW2 reasonably well, even better!

I tried installing the client on the demo models at Best Buy to check it out earlier, but they’re locked down with Administrator passwords. :-D

Has anyone run GW2 on the new Surface Pro 3?

So far I’ve only seen accounts of people running the game on an original Surface or Surface Pro 2. With an i7 CPU, 8GB RAM, and the newer Intel 5000 GPU on the 3, I’d imagine it would have decent performance, but the generic benchmarks of that GPU aren’t very impressive.

Hullo!

I’ve been playing GW2 since beta with my own guild of friends, but none of them ever play anymore, so I’m looking for a new place to hang out on Jade Quarry. I started playing MMOs with LotRO (Elendilmir, ~5 years from alpha to last year) and have played just about everything else since, from betas to free trials to a couple paid games too.

I have a wife and young daughter, so I only play GW2 a couple hours a night, a couple nights a week, so I’m not looking to get into any rigorously scheduled guild with hardcore requirements. I just want a group of nice, fun, helpful people I can chat with; share adventures, stories, and spoils with; and pass the time more enjoyably than I do now on my own.

I also have an eventual (VERY) long term goal of getting a legendary (Twilight) for my main character, so anyone with experience in that avenue would be bonus for sure.

My main is Gyan, an Asura Mesmer, with almost all exotics, 93% map completion (my primary near term goal), and a good amount of WvW experience (though not much since the new systems/skills were added). I can use voice chat when necessary, but don’t have a mic setup, so it’d be listening only.
