The only reason I posted that one was because he said he as confused by other guides. That direct is very direct and simple. It tells you exactly what to have in your inventory for 75 crafting levels and what specifically to make. If he was looking for the cheapest, then there’s others but they’re less direct because they expect you to know what mats are used for the lesser inscriptions and what’s cheapest on the TP.
Here’s one that let’s you choose different mats but it’s a bit more confusing: http://www.errantquest.com/guild-wars-2/
These ones are pretty straight forward: http://www.guildwars2-crafting.com/
The trinity is and always will be a bad idea. There are only 2 skilled roles (tank and healer) and 3 people getting carried along with them. Every game that tries to implement a fourth support role just ends up never using it, since the Trinity is always superior to it.
It gets old only playing tank and healer if you actually want some semblance of a challenge (not that either role particularly provides one in most Trinity games, except maybe TERA). It’s nice finally having EVERY player in a party be challenged. It’s also fun to watch the people who are used to being carried in other MMOs and considered themselves “skilled” get steamrolled and then QQ about how “bad” the current system is.
I disagree. Playing a healer or support is one of my favourite things to do in any game; it was actually a let down to find out that healing was not being carried over from GW1 to GW2. I feel that every aspect of a team is important: without a good tank, your party will take fatal damage; without a good healer, your party won’t be able to sustain the incoming damage; without good DPS, you won’t kill anything (and it puts a lot more pressure on the healer and tank when the target is alive too long). All three aspects are equally important. There is a major difference between a mediocre DPS (which most people are) and a good DPS, of which most people fall in the former. A good DPS requires skill but it’s easier to be passed off as mediocre than it is for a healer or tank.
As far as having a fourth support role goes, GW1 did a very good job with that. They had the Paragon which was a full support profession in terms of PvE content. For example, at one point in the Realm of Torment when Ursan was nerfed, you’d have 2 Monks to heal, 1 Paragon for support and then 5 people to deal damage. To say that games don’t ever achieve a functional support role outside of the established trinity is another false assumption.
Even though the current setup in GW2 is perfectly fine and it works, I would still prefer to have a healing profession.

It kind of sucks that theres hundreds of cooking guides and a few artificing, and almost none for any of the other crafting professions.
There are tons, you just need to know where to look for them. Here’s one site with guides for all of the 8 crafting professions and another with 6:
Are you saying that, if I had started crafting earlier, by the time I got where I am now I be able to make things that are better than the loot that drops?
Anyway, since I have lots of iron ore but not copper ore, and soft wood instead of green wood, why can’t I use the better stuff for refining? It makes no sense that I have to buy the inferior stuff to craft.
You need to build up to the stronger stuff. It’s just like leveling; in order to wear higher end gear, you need to gain levels and become stronger. In order to craft higher end gear, you need to gain levels in that crafting profession and become more experienced. You have to use the inferior crafting supplies to craft your way to the appropriate level to use iron ore and soft wood.
ps ; Don’t other games show things as this in said skills tooltip?
WoW perhaps?
Yes but it would appear as though Anet would prefer to take the simplistic approach that negates players worrying too much about marginal data. I don’t think Anet wants their players to worry about min and maxing as games such as WoW do.
think you missed the point of my reply, is that the supply is small, and guess who will be able to afford them? wont be regular players and the price is getting higher. your trying to hard to play devil advocate its sad. i dont need to sit here and convince anyone how hard it is to get lodestones or how expensive they are. plenty of players already know.
Again, you’re trying to make me into something I’m not. I’m not playing devil’s advocate; I’m advocating that lodestones remain hard to farm. Certain items should take a long time to farm and not just be handed to people who want to farm it in a week. If someone wants to pay a ridiculous amount of real money to obtain it, then so be it; Anet needs to make money somewhere. But as far as farming mats for legendaries and select items such as Volcanus and Mjolnir go, I’m happy with it because it’s not something everyone should have within a month of playing, including me.
IMHO, it makes the items that much rarer and cooler when you see people with them.

people like you fail to see the near impossibilty of getting items that require charged lodestones legitimately. the two people i knew that had items of similar value cheated and got banned. it promotes unhealthy game play and an unhealthy economy. the price will only go up as gold buyers will be the only ones to afford it and buy up the very small supply with ill-gotten money. no one is asking us to hand it to us, we are just asking anet to let us farm for the kitten item.
This is the equivalent of saying: guns kill people. Guns don’t kill people; people kill people. Cheaters are not going to stop cheating simply because there’s an easier farming method than before.

I don’t understand this sense of entitlement that people have nowadays. It doesn’t matter that Mjolnir costs more than Volcanus. If you want it, put the time and effort in that’s needed to farm it; don’t expect to have it handed to you. The same thing goes for legendaries. If you want a legendary that’s apparently harder to farm, then farm harder. Don’t complain about it on the forums because it doesn’t seem fair to you.
Cooking is by far the easiest. I went from 0-400 in about 20 minutes (including purchasing the majority of the mats). I used this guide for it: http://qorthos.wordpress.com/guild-wars-2/chef-guide/
I found Leatherworking, Armoursmithing and Tailoring to be about the same difficulty. Tailoring is only more difficult due to not having nodes to farm. I also used this site for the rest of the crafting professions: http://www.guildwars2-crafting.com/. This guide can get you to 400 without using ectos or orichalcum IIRC, so you’ll save a lot of money in terms of that. If you follow the guides on either of those sites, you’ll have no problems.

I like both Mjolnir and Freya though I prefer Freyja. Not a fan of the last name.
My Norn Guardian is named Askr Yggdrasil. The meaning behind it is kind of confusing to explain and it’s probably best to read it on Wikipedia for the full explanation.
It’s as if no one has ever or ever will create alts.
Stop being so whiny. People will be running all different difficulty levels at all times.
