Im wondering do the arenanet members even play the game ? to do such stupid changes , man i was hyped about this patch , thought its gonna be good, but this is kitten.
You’re just thinking in extreme values here. Firstly, we do not know the magnitude of the new condition and its duration. Secondly, there is no guarantee that every mesmer, necro or thief will make much use of Torment. Thirdly, many existing traits and skills will be merged or rebalanced to maybe counter the effects of Torment. It could be that mesmer suddenly isn’t the “OP class” it once was.
I hope this will one day get a fix, since dragons aren’t supposed to be objects/buildings, but living creatures like any other standard mob.
Human Necromancer, Ashladan. I tried something new for armor and dyes. Quite satisfied with the result!
-Named Headpiece
-Deathly Mantle Skin
-The rest is from Honor of the Waves
If you want to try playing as a Condition Necromancer, I highly recommend Lopez’ guides. He has one for PvE, WvW and Fractals.

Its focus lies mainly with Epidemic and Bleeds. If you equip the recommended gear, sigils, runes, traits and skills, you can easily get around 15-16 stacks of Bleeding and then spread it all around with Epidemic for great AoE damage.
But the objects are not affected by condition damage , so marks can only land a direct damage.
That is true, but the direct damage from marks is still reasonable enough to use, especially the Staff #4 skill. Keep in mind that meta bosses such as the Dragon Lieutenants can receive conditions such as bleeding and poison. Plus, I would prefer to use marks on objects because they are fast and cover a lot of ground with Greater Marks. Necrotic grasp moves very slow and in a straight line.
Hello, fellow Necromancers.
Most of you will already know what issue I’m talking about by reading the topic title.
This has been bugging me for a while. Mark skills from the Staff are unable to hit destructible objects or even special bosses such as the dragon lieutenants, because they can’t trigger them. The only way to hit them with marks is to let a nearby hostile creature trigger it, which is not always possible.
Let’s take the Claw of Jormag meta event for example. After the ice wall has been breached, I can only damage the dragon with the Staff #1 skill or switch to my Scepter/Dagger set (which also does poor damage in this case). I had to resort to Lich Form or Wells to do more direct damage. Then comes the stage where we have to protect the bomb golems from ice pillars. Again, my Marks have little use here.
I’d like to ask a question now to every Necromancer:
Would you want your Staff Marks changed, so that they can be triggered by destructible objects and meta event bosses? Would this change be unbalanced in some cases? (e.g. siege weapons in WvW)
Thank you for reading.
I like the Ghastly weapons. They have a ghostly theme at night and still look okay at daytime on my human necro. Currently, I have the Dagger, Scepter and Warhorn.
Deathwish for staff.
I also have the Godskull Axe with transmogrified stats, but I’m looking for a more intimidating one.
As for focus, I’m currently using the Chalice of the Gods. It matches well with the Ghastly weapons.
Assuming you’re playing as a condition necromancer, I’d suggest Rabid over Carrion.
I personally use Rabid armor for the precision and condition damage stats, coupled with a scepter of Earth to inflict as many bleeds as possible.
The extra precision is vital if you want to play as a condition necromancer, as it gives more critical chance and thus more chance to inflict the extra bleeds from the Barbed Precision trait and the Sigil of Earth on your scepter.
I strongly recommend Lopez’ Condition Necromancer guide to PvE. It’s a great guide if you want to play our necromancer effectively.

Thanks. I’ll give it a try soon.
First of all, I love the Bell Choir activity. Kudos to Arenanet for that.
I’d like to know if any talented players have the notes for several Christmas / Guild Wars songs. I like to experiment a bit in the free play round after the other songs are finished.
So far I wrote down the numbers for Jingle Bells and the main Guild Wars theme. They’re a bit flawed though.
Jingle Bells : 777 777 79467 888 88 88 777766 769
Main Guild Wars theme: 6 7 8 9 8 7 6 6 7 4 4 6 2
I’m also trying to write down Fear Not this Night to play it solo.
So far, I have: 1 3 6 1 322 4 321
