hmm? It’s not really an award if you can have it for free already. The gears do not look ‘basic’. They are exotic and most of them have attached upgrades. I’m yet not in PvP and don’t want to do something which I regret later.
That’s the poor thing about the wiki: it does not go into the details and leaves the user alone. The forum is unusable without the search function working. badbadbad

oh, one thing: the search is not working. ‘PvP’ gives no results
e.g. the ‘PvP Helm of Divinity’ has no slot in my locker as have all 14 gears from my last achievement reward chest. My character’s bags or my bank tabs are not the right place and too expensive since I have payed for them :-( I hope this is a bug and the gear slots will be available soon since I’d need a full bank tab expansion when I reach 5000 xp’s which means I’d have to pay 800 gems to be able to use this ‘rewards’.

I monitored the network traffic while typing the search phrase. The server gives 404 errors (page not found).
The request is done with a anonymized URL which may be different for each user.
The request contains a authenticity token (some kind of temporary user id?).
Only some users seem to have this problem and in this cases the search functionality is constantly not working.
This looks like an intentional ‘denial of service’!
The search is not working, because it is directed to a non-existent URL. This is not related to cookies or browsers. It’s definitely happening on the server and it’s definitely related to user accounts.
When I began playing GW2 I was very annoyed of the Wiki (it’s much better now) and I expressed that in rude forum posts which have been abandoned. Is this the reason why the search has been disabled? I can’t follow my own posts now. Is this some kind of punishment? This would be a very bad policy.
Here’s the HTTP-Request:

I wanted to make the discovery Superior Rune of Exuberance (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/SuperiorRune_of_Exuberance_).
This recipe needs one Glob of Ectoplasm and 250 Watchwork Sprocket. Both do not appear in the crafting materials view.
I spent lots of gold to build a set of armor and now I’m not able to do it, even thoug I got all materials I Need!
This seems to be a .com issue only! At least the search on .de and .es are working.
Ryan Alyea.5418 of the support forum announced this bug as being fixed 29 days ago. If I want to be kind I believe him that he got a ‘fixed report’. But it looks like he neither tested if this fix worked nor followed this topic.
I’m sorry, but I reported him as being unreliable.
no find, very much topics about the same thing
support team not responding. is on holiday? is singing songs?
if want keep nice job then keep do nuthin’. I envy you
have nice days and let google do your work.
I bad in english – sorry if I offend you.
a very good example is ‘guild’ → Found 0 results ;-) Am I the only one having this issue?
I get a ‘no results’ on merely any search phrase (e.g. ‘issue’) even when the phrase is definitely contained in the title of one of the first Topic entries.
If an item allready is in your locker you may not be able to store it and make it ‘soulbound on acquire’.
The hell yeah! I didn’t recognize it. But if you’re lucky as I am, you’ll recognise they will become ‘soulbound on acquire’ in your PvP locker.
This is a bit confusing if not annoying. But it’s not as bad as it looks like at the first glance.
huhu!? anybody home? goin’ fishin’?
It started yesterday: After gaming a view minutes the game shut down and I got messages like ‘A serious error occured…’ (in german ist ‘Es ist ein schwerwiegender Fehler aufgetreten…’). I found several users with the same problem and it looks like all of them are on the ‘Whiteside Ridge’ server. The messages look like an ‘unexpected exception handling’. The exceptions are talking mainly ‘sizeof blabla’ which is a common problem with streamed data objects. Either the server uses outdated SW-components or it has been updated with components which are not ‘ready for rollout’.
Beat it up! I know you can do it!
I can still check/uncheck the achivements for the ‘Living Story’. I would appreciate them in a ‘disabled’ or ‘ghosted’ state since it makes no sense to check expired achivements.
Hi!
I got this error too. There seems no reason to blame the local IP configuration or my ISP. Lags began to happen about two days ago and my skill buttons kept blinking up two seconds without action! Now the lag lasts infinitely.
Something on the servers is not ok! For me as a developer it looks like some kind of deadlock which causes an action being completed and blocking any further incoming actions. The buffer for those actions may be limited and the error message should be ‘input buffer overflow’ which may be an exception which is discriminated to ‘connection lost’ (missing “catch (BufferOverflow Exception) { … }” ?) – Please check this out – I know such problems mainly from time-critical high performance software components which are not using the high level exception handling and may fall through several subroutines into the main action receiving/processing loop without reliable information for what reason (unmanaged/managed code). Of course the connection termination is the best and only way to handle this situation since it may be a security hole and a candidate to be hacked but it’s highly recommended to identify the real problem and handle it correct.
May be a deadlock is caused by a problem with the action serialization? IP packets are guaranteed to be received in correct order, requests are not. Due to traffic ballancing the ip action requests take different routes and are received in reverse order. The result would be similar to a classic ‘syntax error’ which would be detected if Guild Wars 2 only were an interpreter or a compiler.
One effect which may be related to this issue is the ‘use water bucket to wake up drunken npc’ action which does currently not succeed in about 90%. The action is taken but it has no target. The npc just keeps sleeping. But: The connection does not get lost. This may bee a serialization problem too and the ‘use water bucket’ may be received just before the ‘select target’. This issue appeared at the same time as the lags.
Another point may be the yellow/red npc. It appears to me that the connection gets lost with mixed red/red yellow/red npc’s in the combat area and a yellow/red one starts combatting.
I’ve had some changes on the autoattacking during the last days – it had been off and now is on. This may trigger some ‘select target’ which interfere my user actions.
hulahula – on vacation in hawaii?
if you can’t fix it within minutes then please give a honest message and not this firewall blahblah! It’s allways been an issue with your servers!
Your timestamps are just one hour too late. It’s March 05, 2013 15:XX and not 14:XX.
PLEASE check your Timezone logic. It looks like the last comment about this problem was one hour ago but it’s just now! That’s really a must-be for international operating organisations and even in the US you have four or five timezones.
yep: 2158
since this is happening frequently, why not have a status page online:
server (world) – status (online/offline) – (if offline: estemated time to fix)
now I see. ‘basic’ means, this are the gears my characters has by refault and are replace the PvE gears. I had put them off and they remained im my bags when I travelled to Lions Arch. Not really a bug – just a Little bit nasty.
