I run a full set of MF gear. I don’t have any trouble in dungeons, even in pug groups. I don’t even have too much trouble in WvW when I forget to change my gear out.

Is it easy? No, I wouldn’t call it easy. I’m not soloing the entire dungeon like I do most of the PvE area’s, but I’m also not dying every 2 minutes either.

I think some of you are over-exaggerating the stat differences in the gear, or blaming gear sets based on your experience with bad players.

I can tell you this, a bad player is a bad player no matter what they wear.

From my experience, it’s only real effectiveness is an increase in the chance to get higher tier crafting materials.

I’ve noticed a pretty significant increase in that aspect, and generally make 30-40% more money overall than without it.

That being said, adding 2% here or there is pointless unless your eventual end-goal is a full MF set.

Not everyone got a precursor. I got rares/exotics worth 2-5g total. Not that big a deal man. Grow up.

The event was buggy, sloppy, and very unimpressive AT FIRST.

I didn’t mind the grind leading up the final event, though I do kinda hate healthpoint battles.

Then this chest came – I didn’t get anything epic like a precursor or anything, but i still like that I got some rares/exotics. Feels good to see those pop up. I can count on one hand how many times an exotic has dropped, and I play almost every day since the 3 day headstart.

Not to mention the 20 slot, and the trinket – I would say the chest made up and then some for the poor start the event had.

Agree with unspecified. The bag alone was worth it, not to mention the karka trinket. I’m happy with those two alone.

Add some random exotics for gold fodder (and I too only made 2-5 gold at 80) is just icing on the cake.

I noticed that the mad rush is where I was getting lost in view, but if you hold back half a second or so, you can still make the run behind everyone without a problem.

Nope. Soulbound on use.

Finally got to go through it and got the Epic Mad King britches.

Now I have to decide if I want to keep or sell.

I would totally sell em. Nothing unique about em at all.

I’m glad it’s hard, and I’m glad they did it in groups. I liked having my guildmates with me as we did it, kinda motivated us like it was a race. Once I got the hang of it the mass group of people really wasn’t a problem.

I’m also glad it’s not something for someone to just run and do in 5 minutes, and actually takes a few tries. I don’t want spoiled brats who think they should have what they want when they want it the way they want it getting my hard earned achievements (not implying the op is that, just saying in general).

Did about a dozen runs, got the Halloween staff (The Crossing), 5 Fine Transmutation Stones, and about 3 random exotic weapons amidst the usual greens and blues..

Yeah some people say its not a lot of people tying up the queue, but when I went into the jumping puzzle I could probably count at least 20 for each side – so that’s 40 players not participating in WvW.

I can only estimate, but if there are that many for the puzzle, there may just as well be that many additionally running around the map. That’s almost 100 people that really don’t need (or probably want) to be there.

sorry, i had posted that after i just got the exploration “achievement” after about 2 weeks of work and was a bit annoyed.

I would say my favorite thing about it at the moment is WvW when the server organizes. It’s really awesome to see constructive chat in game, and have 50+ players run to you when requesting aid.

Gear rewards suck. Beat the game for level 40 gear. Clear the entire world for..nothing. 2 gifts of exploration. Sure, thats nice, but come on man. Map clears give garbage loot, and I absolutely despise all thekittenuseless tonics taking up space in my inventory.

yeah, I can just delete them, but inventory space is not the problem. Useless rewards are. At least let me sell them to an npc or something. Utter junk.

Map clear loot should scale to the level of the map at the very least, and the game completion reward is a complete joke. Cost me 1 gold to finish the last mission, they gave me 20 silver and a “present” full of blue and green junk items.

I’m level 80 by this point most likely, so give me level 80 gear.

Bumping this for truth. There are too many negatives and not enough positives to warrant these points in WvW as part of the achievement.

Negative:
PvE players take up PvP player spots in line.
PvE players in WvW don’t contribute to the purpose of WvW.
Players on low-pop server will have an extremely difficult time completing this – to the point that they may NEVER be able to complete it without moving to another server – which only exasperates the problem further.

Positive
You might convert PvE players into PvP players (who will have to stand inline behind other PvE players to PvP as noted above.
