Pretty much all of pve aside from the dungeons and fractals is soloable content and as far as mini games go they are adding polymock at some stage (from guild wars 1, sort of like a pokemon mini game). In the mean time I think we can expect to get a bit more solo content added once a month and possibly new levels to SAB.
Hey man, thanks for that feedback ^.^
When I was talking about ‘solo’ content, I had in mind ‘solo-only’ or, at least, ‘designed-for-solo’ content. Fractals, for instance, can’t be soloed. Not only are they incredibly hard when soloing, levels like the Swamp fractal simply can’t be done alone.
Also, for mini-games, great news! I didn’t know about Polymock, as my knowledge of the original GW is very, very limited.
Hey everyone, I’m grouping three main suggestions in here but I’ll try to make this as concise as possible while being explanatory!
Unlockables
I would very much enjoy a system of obtaining (certain) items by unlocking them rather than by simply purchasing. As of now, the only set of items I can think of are unlocked with Hall of Monuments points, only accessible to players of the original Guild Wars!
A simple yet effective way would be, in my opinion, to use non-repeatable content like completion of the story line or achievement points and place milestones that decide on content to be unlocked.
The main reason why I would enjoy this is because it highly benefits players that play only one or very few characters, disadvantaging the ones that go all the way to even buying extra character slots to appreciate the variety of the classes.
Solo content
I really love exploring the map, I love dungeons, fractals and other team-oriented content. Sometimes, however, I like to be a lone wolf and play with no one around. As of right now, apart from the Super Adventure Box, almost the entirety of the game content is designed to be most enjoyable with groups.
The addition of optional, solo content would be a great plus for the gamers who, like me, like to take time on their own to really get in the game without, say, annoy party members who want to skip every cutscene :P
Mini-games (activities)
More! I am a player that enjoys activities a lot! They distract from the end-game content, dungeon farming or character leveling, but they could be so much more developed! I understand that ArenaNet’s team has a lot on its arms, but I would be very, very pleased to see a greater importance given to activities.
First, the improvement of current activities like the Keg Brawl. As of right now, it is very straight-forward game that can be learned in a few minutes and, frankly, isn’t too enjoyable (in my opinion). Adding to the mini-game, like scattered items, classes and extra content could be, I think, a great improvement.
Additionally, adding rewards (other than ultra-long to obtain achievements) and adding more activities could attract many!
Tell me what you think of those suggestions!
Must… Learn… Better… Punctuation.
On another note, this goes to scale with Group and World events. Although I am against all-white or all-black approaches, (which is why I love, for instance, the principle of stacks of ‘Defiant’), ‘berserk’ goes to prevent stuns, and other crowd control effects from becoming over-powered, as well as adding a pint of challenge.
The next step now would be (in my opinion) a re-evaluation of loot for mobs that are much harder than others. This is, I think, a more relevant issue.
Please go to my thread and read my response, honestly commenting on my thread then making an entire other thread and saying people are not allowed to voice their opinion, which you are clearly doing here is not right.
I don’t see where you spotted in my original post a discouragement to voice opinion… I actually did the opposite, encouraging to post their thoughts but staying on subject. I also posted this before I replied to your thread as I hadn’t seen it. Now if a moderator considers this a duplicate thread he will close it.
Then you didn’t look to hard is all I am saying, it has been on the front page of the forums all day, usually with in the first 10 spots. Glad to see you openly admit to not using the search function like you agreed to do when you signed up for he forums.
What are you trying to do, get me banned? Start a war? I won’t go to jail for not using the search function, which I didn’t, you’re entirely right.
Your ideas concerning the issue are spot on, but in your suggestions you’re missing something, which in my opinion is what I posted here. The issues you have concerning my post are, I find, truly hard to comprehend. As I said before, if this is considered a duplicate by a moderator this will be closed, to no regret since I have exposed my opinion in your own thread already.

So wait you have never done it before it is all just “What you have heard”, there are people that Jump on hours before an event already and stay on the guesting server for all 7 events then go to a different server. They can usually hit all the events in a matter of 7 hours. If they are trying to do all four server jumps. Although most Jumpers will hit at least 2 events before jumping again.
I know and understand how you probably do not like people disagreeing with your plan but it wont work like that [/quote]
Your refutations keep ignoring my replies… I precised that it was a matter of zone changing. People can stay in a server for 7 hours, every time they change zone the timer would re-start based on traffic. If people come for an event in a guest world’s zone half an hour in advance, which they don’t, then they can bypass the timer.
I have to say, I’m confused. I don’t understand why you keep desperately trying to destroy this idea. I also approve your ideas on the subject, I think it will contribute to lessening the importance of the issue.

simple solution is to add a chest lock that you only get it once per day regardless of server you are on. Such a thing already exists. You can only farm orichalcum once per 24 hours, guest to another server and its not there.
This works (a bit…), but it’s far from 100% of the solution. Picture this scenario: you have 30 minutes to play and want to do as many loot-heavy events as possible. You learn that a certain server has under 10 minutes left of Tequatl the Sunless’ spawn window. You check the timer for your home world: 59 minutes until window opens. Which one will you choose? The easy jump to your guest-able server for your daily chest, or not having it at all? Every single person would choose the first option. The people who have your guest-able server as home won’t be able to join and tears will ensue. Do you truly want to make people cry?
For people on this thread to see it, I’ll re-post what I think is the best solution to the problem: A guesting timer. The timer would consist of a delay before entering a foreign server that would vary according to player traffic in the destination server. For example, if people from a certain server are gathering for a World Event, say, Frostgorge Sound to kill the Claw Of Jormag, the incoming traffic increases. Going with that increase in traffic, the delay to join a server would increase proportionally or exponentially. This would guarantee guests no consequences when no world events are happening but would protect ‘native’ from guests overflowing their server.
This sounds great on paper it really does, when I read it I was like yeah this could work, then I re-read it.
Her are the problems with it, unless you plan on kick people off every 45 minutes to every 3 hours then this idea wont work. Sure if one of the dragon events are going then accepting no guest could be put into a que, although once they get in they are there for 24 hours. It wont stop the problem in all honesty it will just make people log on before the event window hits or just after and get the next event. ERGO still the same problem. The easiest solution is just to not allow guest on another server to loot dragon chest, and make it so you can only loot it on your home server. This would cut back on a lot of the issues, although it will not solve the problem entirely it will help it tremendously
I have to say that I disagree with that statement. What has to be stopped is ‘event jumpers’. If there’s a delay that makes queued guests miss the fight against the Claw of Jormag, Tequatl the Sunless or the Shatterer, they may decide to simply not come. I doubt that people would log in an hour in advance for something that’s available in their home server in maybe 90 minutes. The reason why people event jump is because it’s an event that they can do right now or very soon. Besides, people don’t get into a world for 24 hours when they guest, they become able to be guests in that server for 24 hours. What happens in most cases from what I’ve heard is that people are in their home world, hear that their guest world has a World Event soon, log in that world, and boom. No more space for the ‘natives’.
The timer would be for guests that want to get in any zone in their guest-able server based on traffic, meaning very low to no waiting time to zones with low population, not hingering their capacity to play with their friends, but preventing guests to ‘World Event Jump’ and ‘steal’ spots from people that live in that server.
I am aware that this isn’t the only required update and that guesting isn’t the only responsible factor for ultra lag, crash and overflowing issues at dragon events.

I don’t want to be pretentious, but this is perhaps the first real solution to the ‘dragon loot/guesting’ issue we’re seeing everywhere and no one’s discussing it?
I’ll also reserve this spot for suggestions made by other player that I find to be interesting.
add them to more places sure, but not to fractals, fractals got to corner the market on ascended gear for way too long.
Lol @ ‘corner the market’. I don’t agree with everything the OP says, but using ‘corner the market’ when there’s no market (every single ascended piece is AB) is… well…. stupid? Yeah it used to be the only way to get ascended rings & back pieces (still is for backs) but hey, are we going to add dungeon armor obtainable by laurels or karma?
That can’t work, you can’t ‘pull’ someone in your server, from an overflow or anywhere else, simply because:
1. There’s limitation for home servers that you don’t have in overflows (i.e.: can’t access them from an overflow by any system other than the queue system rather than right clicking ‘join in ______ zone’ on someone, can’t join a foreign server without being from it or guesting);
2. If you ‘pull’ people in, unless you break the maximum player in server slot system (which is ridiculous and can’t happen, obviously), that means you’re kicking people. Kicking isn’t like preventing people to get in. It’s just wrong to get someone to do an event with his friends and then boot him;
3. Kicked when the ‘puller’ logs out? Again, for reason two, that’s just ridiculous, as well as being annoying to code for people that have the ‘right’ to be there since it’s their home servers.
TL;DR: Can’t work.
Could be a good idea, but I’m guessing it’d be hard to apply the same graphic effects to different shapes & different ‘weapons’. Footsteps would be easy enough but I wonder how, for instance the bullet effect from The Predator be applied to a flamethrower that… well… throws fire.
Another idea concerning legendaries… why not Legendary Sigils? I know, sounds crazy, but I’d be so incredibly motivated if there was such a thing as ‘Sigil of the Dreamer’ that had a very special effect!

Quickly before I begin:
1. This thread isn’t for complaining/giving examples of the negative impacts of guesting on World Events.
2. I do like the guesting system, this is only addressing a particular issue, so please keep it to that
Alright. So guesting brings a lot of ‘World Event Jumpers’, who log in, check timers, become guests of a certain servers and do certain events (most often Claw of Jormag, Tequatl the Sunless, the Shatterer & the Shadow Behemoth). This creates issues for players who want to get to a certain event in their home server’s zone, called in by their friends/guildies, and get sent to a boring overflow.
How to fix it?
A guesting timer.
I know this is only a possible suggestion concerning the problem. I haven’t seen it written anywhere else on the internet but if I am wrong, I would love to see a link to the source being posted here.
TL;DR: Solution: introducing a guesting timer to delay guests depending on player traffic.
