true action base combat

Probably not. There were a couple of mods that turned GW2 combat closer to what you see in TERA, for example, but Anet ruled that any such mods would be grounds for account suspension if anyone was found using them.

I would also love to be able to play GW2 with a controller, but as there are no console versions planned, I don’t think it’s coming either.

You can always try a program called Joy to Key. I’ve never used it myself but you can pretty much play any game with a controller even if it’s not supported.

"HoT is our vision for character progression"

From what was presented i have to agree. Game needs more content not more meaningless character progression that you’ll soon forget. How to survive in a jungle, skills you’ll most likely never use or be able to use outside of the jungle.

They showed a map, i doubt it’ll be split up into multiple zones so i’ll just say it’s one zone. So atm with the information we all have i say this update is no different than the Karka zone and the crafting upgrade they did ( crafting to 500 skill ).

And no, i actually don’t want to say: “i told you so”, when patch goes live.

What happened to "my way"?

the lyrics of an older song go like this: “my way or the highway” , so if i apply this to the game it’s either take it or leave it.

What is GW2 missing?

The last time gw2 had any point to me playing was when i bought a sword and shield skin from some living story event, the one where you fought different kind of bosses in an arena. I then set out to decide on which character a shield and sword combo is good. A warr wasn’t so bad so i made a condi war with those two skins aaaaaaand that was it.

Running trains was a pass time, doing world bosses was a hassle and eventually i asked myself “what do i even get by farming champs or world bosses” and the answer for me was some gold, and maybe an exotic that has a different skin. And i don’t really need that. So WvW i don’t like cause i feel it’s a zerg fest and a time waster, the pug arena pvp or w/e it’s called is fun for couple of games and i’m not doing the competitive pvp since i’m no good at it, if there’s such thing as good since i think there’s only button mashing involved (don’t flame if i’m wrong for 1 class or certain build).

I do miss better pve stuff like dungeons or better scaled bosses so a zerg doesn’t necessarily mean free loot. Stale pve content, what’s up with jormag, we only got to kill his claw a zillion times, when will he show up or some other body part of his?
For pvp i miss the random team arena from gw1, you go in get a team and if you win you stick with the same team until you lose, i just think it’s a very good experience.
Didn’t do any gwg in gw1 but i guess that was fun aswell for those that did it

Atleast the default finisher doesn’t lag a players computer. Not every one is playing on a high end machine. Besides i’m pretty sure you don’t want to see shiny stuff all around you when you’re fighting close to a dead player.

It could be just me, but i don’t like pointless clutter.

Would cast time bars solve all SPVP problems?

Yes, isn’t it just strange that they turned away from all the awesomeness they’ve made in GW1 and decided on button mashing playstyle. I mean, the biggest problem people had with gw1 is that they couldn’t jump, then you take a look at problems in gw2 and the list is just ongoing.

PvP was much better in gw1 in my opinion. For instance you were able to actually counter important skills/spells, which put the skill on cooldown or outright doubled the cooldown or something like that.

In gw2 all i see is a spam zergfest when it’s anything over 1v1 or 1v2 situation. I might be wrong, but i’m probably not far off.

What would you like to see in next video?

hey, you can try out THIS build if you have access to gear and upgrade components.

i never tried it in any kind of pvp and only world pve, either solo or zerg and it does the job well.

2 pieces of carrion gear are for extra vitality and some power since i felt i have enough toughness. Anyway if you manage to keep 25stacks of corruption, are near banner of srength AND have somehow achieved 25 might stacks in pvp you’ll have over 3000 condition damage, while using sword/shield. Ofcourse that isn’t achievable 95% of the time, but self buffed you can easily maintain ~2200 condition damage i think.

well if you try it out post some results.

If you’re talking about PvE then i can link the build i’m using which is this build

I’m only focusing on sword/shield so you can use w/e you want in your other weapon slot, i’m using a rifle since it utilises most of power and condition damage and it also has range for annoying fights.

Runes are Undead and add 200 or so condition damage and they’re cheap.

Sigil is a bleed one on the sword, and on shield you can either use crit chance, bleed duration, might on proc, condi or power stack sigil, or w/e you like really.

For rings i went with carrion instead of rabid since i wanted a little bit more vitality and power.

But be it PvE or PvP i somehow can’t make a build that wouldn’t be using Cleansing Ire because without it i just keep dying or have a really hard time even in PvE.

when you get to the middle platform, choose the hearth dialogue which gives you a check point there. The hardest part are the gifts but what you should do is jump on the closest gift that spawns and just jump straight up. Once over be careful of wind so you don’t get knocked off. Balls area easy to avoid but if you can’t you can always dodge. And you have to dodge the red rings that spawn otherwise it will most likely be the end.

I like this PvP and i have the feeling main PvP should be like this as well. This is the closest thing we got to GW1 PvP in my opinion, some of you may or may not like that though.

Isn’t it just amazing what they’ve achieved with only 3 random classes put together, no gear no traits no runes/sigils needed and you can have a blast and be on equal footing.

Granted this map is mostly of the type when you run to the middle and fight it out there but i have succesfully stalled the enemy team from delivering the present and even managed to steal it using the shortcut over the snowflakes.

Duking it 1v1 is also good for every class, especially if you use the terain and boost to your advantage.

If this kind of PvP made it to non living story i’m sure a lot of people would play it, but just remember to remove the silly achievement as it promotes afking. And if you want to shove weapon specific skill then you need to turn to GW1 for advice, we need a lot more skills, traits and runes alone don’t make for a build diversity.

Just 2 quick tips for getting first present as scout or support:
- Scout: run in use stealth when almost there, grab the present do 180° and use #6.
- Support as bait: use #3 to make foes fall, if you’re all alone grab it otherwise use #5 and have fun running people over. While doing this distraction hopefully one of your teammates has picked up the present.

You can search for “Guild wars 2 Blood Fury” or follow this link http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/76862-build-blood-fury/ that’s a build i’ve found couple of weeks ago but just recently gotten most of the gear to use (still missing accesories). I’m using sword/sword as a personal prefference and i went with Type B. I can’t talk for dungeons but general world pve this is a beast despite me not having complete gear.

Just so you know what kind of beatig i took in Orr: 1 spawn of maggots (like 10?) that are part of an event and then continuous spawn of various risen 4-8. Sure i didn’t kill all of them at once but i got out alive and killed them off once i regened my life back.

Stumbled upon this thread after i finally finished my mission (didn’t know there was a reward probblem). Anyway on 5th of January i opened 3 shiny bags (forgot the name) and i received 2 lvl 80 greens and 1 lvl 80 rare with a major rune in it, so i guess the reward got fixed or i was just very lucky.
