You should get a daily reward for every tier i.e. 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc. that you complete a run in.
Again my question is.. did Anet change the reward screen at the end to remove the popup window with the graphic of the chest and the rewards below it or what?
Regarding the daily reward chest are we still getting that pop up window at the end that contains the ascended rewards, similar to the window we get at the end of a normal dungeon run?
I ask as its been months since I ran any fractals, and wondering if the reward screen/window has changed.
I’m was level 33 when before my first run today, I completed a level 49, then completed a level 38. I’m now at level 35. Both runs today I didn’t get that window pop up after the end of the last boss. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get the 1 gold or so reward as well.
I’m wondering this is a bug, am I not getting my daily rewards, or did Anet just remove that old screen?
Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
This has been an issue since beta with no acknowledgement or indication of a fix planed.
I completely agree, immersion breaking to say the least, boourns!
TBH, this is the first bug I saw way back in the day at which point I figured it was an anomaly. Now I file these under been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Good luck tho!
Staff skin among others do not have those trails. I am glad for this as the staff and rifle skins (got 4 rifles in a row actually (lame)) look better than the short-bow I got that does have the trails IMHO.
Just saying
Experiencing the same issue here
Todays patch notes state the Dawn of the Season achievement was fixed. Still broken for me even though I join my BL and killed a few folks etc. Is there some sort of trick to get this to complete?
It’s a let down to find out that even more RNG is lurking about, this time its needed to craft certain Ascended weapon stat combos! :/
But on the other hand, I just salvaged said Rabid insignia from the “Kevin”, the exotic mace first try with a masters salvage kit.
Yeah, no kidding :p, Thanks for the info.
Is this a bug, or intended?
I sincerely hope its a bug as the latter is, well, just bad. A PVE reward for PvP activity!?!
Anet you can do better than that, or at least…. I used to think that.
Disregard the previous report ^^, appears to be fixed now.
Ok I see that its been posted on Soundcloud now, but the URL https://soundcloud.com/arenanet/the-nightmare-within/ that’s linked with the text “Download it for free from Soundcloud” on the page https://www.guildwars2.com/en/community/contests/ returns an error.
The correct URL for the song is https://soundcloud.com/arenanet/the-nightmares-within/ (difference being the “s” at the end of nightmare).

The “The Nightmares Within” song does not appear on https://soundcloud.com/arenanet as detailed on the following URL.

Kindly address as we have a short time time to submit an entry.
Also, I am not 100% sure where to post this, kindly move it if this is not the place.
Adding my name to the list of people slighted by this issue. It appeared clear pre patch that any items soul bound would become account bound based on the wording of the statement.
Perhaps you were actually trying to warning folks, but in an unclear manner!
You should have told us “Hey, valued paying customer, you know that MF gear you’re holding on to.. sell it now cause its gunna be bound to your account after Sept 6th”!
TBH I’m still not clear the above was how it was supposed to work anyhow, but anyway, please fix this so it does work as per the wording of that statement that the majority of us players thought it was going to be implemented!

Tried my hand at the new Skyhammer PVP map, with my Mesmer and realized with all the pitfalls around the map, a Guardian with its ample Stability, Knockbacks and Pulls, it would probably be the better choice.
I would continue to use my Mermer to sPvP and tweak the build a bit, but I just came up with a very effective and fun bunker build, so I would like to get used to it before changing again.
Then a Guardian it is, but I never really use my Guardian in sPvP, so decided to use some of the Paid tourney tickets I had to craft her some armour. I looked up recipes and see that one has about a 1 in 3 chance to craft an Orrian piece (Guild and Inquest are the other two possibilities). I had already gotten a Orrian helmet from the new achievement chests today, so with the 9 Paid tourney tickets I had, I had a pretty good chance to craft the chest and pant pieces.
First crafted the chest piece, bingo, got it on the first try! I attempted to craft the pant piece 9 more times, but kept getting either the Guild or Inquest pieces (got 1 more paid tourney ticket from salvaging one of the Inquest pieces). I thought to myself, hmm crap that sucks! Oh well, I’ll craft the Armageddon set as it would match pretty closely.
With the 6 free tourney tickets I had on hand, I crafted the Armageddon gloves, shoulders, and boots. Last piece… the pants. To my surprised 3 attempts to craft the Armageddon pants only returned the Heavy Plate piece! WTF is this a bug???
I’m now left pi*sed off at the experience and no longer wish to partake in anything related to sPvP until I can cool off, and this crap RNG/buggy crafting experience has been forgotten.
So long story short, this RNG bulls**t and game bugs have got to go. Its just no fun at all to be let down repeatedly, and sucks to be me playing GW2 SPvP!
I posted in a related thread about 3 weeks ago with no change to the situation or acknowledgement from Anet.
I must say I’m getting a little kitten off at all the game breaking bugs in GW2. I feel Anet should spend more time fixing the current content before releasing more.
I just tested again my Winter trinkets and Giver armor sets and appears to be no change to the boon duration’s. Seems like its still broken.
Anet is this being addressed at all?
After speaking to a few players and finding a bug report detailing the Boon duration is bugged on the armor as well leads me to believe that thousands if for 10’s of thousands of players wasted anywhere from 1 to 15 or 20 gold per person on 1 piece to a full set of Exotic Snowflake, (also in my case) Giver armor as well.
Happy Wintersday!

Our party had to wipe, I jumped into a lava pit that caused no damage to me, and couldn’t jump out due to high walls surrounding it. Did a /stuck and was placed behind the front gate. Again unable to do anything to wipe at this spot, and couldn’t progress forward causing our team to have to return to the fractal lobby.
Would be nice if /stuck would place the character on the other side of the front gate or no locked front gate at all.
After today’s update I checked the boon duration’s of my shouts with my Snowflake trinket set equipped and no change from what was originally reported.
Attached is a screen shot showing the objectives bugged. In this case the objective we were on was not listed and there were two instances of kill Toxx well before that was the objective at hand.
Yes, I am experiencing the issue as well.
I attached a series of screen shots. The first pane is to compare my trinkets with and without the boon duration stat. The second shows me wearing the snowflake orichalcum trinkets, and the third shows a mix of ascended and non boon duration stat trinkets, along with the tool tip for a guardian shout in both.
In both of the 2nd and 3rd screenies my boon duration is the same.
I’m not sure if its the skill tool tip doesn’t reflect the change in boon duration, or I’m not getting the increase to boons at all, there should be a 10% difference between them.
I also have a full set of the new Giver armor with the boon duration stat (+ 6% in all), are they bugged(?) too? I’m using superior monk, superior water, and major sanctuary runes on them. I am just getting the bonus from the runes or the runes plus native stats? I cant really tell, and I cant really do the same comparison (without spending another 3 or so gold) as I would need two of the same piece with different runes.
Race: Human
Sex: Female
Class: Guardian
Regarding the names of every piece of armor/clothing/weapon etc., I hope the screenies are clear enough to provide that as well.

After loading into the instance, then choosing my role (I always choose Scout) before the start of the match, then once the match starts, my role is automatically changed to either Support or DPS.
This occurs whether I choose my role from the #9 skill slot or by talking to the Snowman NPC.
Out of the 30 or so matches, its happened about 6 times now, seems to be more frequent within the last hour.
It only happens at the start. Once I’ve choosen the Scout role again its fine for the rest of the match. Its like the game forgets I made a selection and choose one for me.
(edited by Grene Jello.4651)
Twice in a row I was half way into a match when all of a sudden I was placed in a new team, a new match without getting any rewards for the match I was booted from. There was no waiting period for the the new match, no time to choose my role.
Do you do make good point, yeah I blew up a bit there, which doesn’t really create a comply environment for new players. I should be less harsh with my criticisms, I think I should avoid obvious flaming threads all together, its not worth the stress. Which is why I’ll let some of your more choice words slide.
I guess it just really burns me to hear the arrogance of some players knowing that Anet houses some of the highest regarded pioneers of gaming and brightest/creative minds in the MMO space today. I sometimes feel like firing back with the same fervor and bad taste that is heaped on Anet by seemingly mediocre minds.
You’re right. You should just avoid them. In fact, please do the general community a favor and get the kitten out of the forums completely. Take your ridiculous over 9000 level fanboi’ism with you too. The only minds around here being mediocre are yours and Arena Net’s. If you truly think this Fractal difficulty level thing was a good idea then you’re a clown, plain and simple. People having to use a third-party website to get Fractal parties means the game’s kittening broken. If you can’t see this and still think whoever made this system is a “pioneer” of gaming then there is no hope for you.
Now please eject yourself from the forums, saving yourself stress and saving me from having to make an irritable post.
You’re mad, I can tell.
You’re also ignorant, but I’ll help you rather than flame you.
Mike O’Brien was featured as one of the most influential people in the computer and video game industry on PC Gamer’s September 1999 cover story “Game Gods”.
Before co-founding ArenaNet, he worked as a company director and a lead programmer at Blizzard Entertainment where he developed the 3D rendering engine of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and led the development of Battle.net.

MPQ (Mo’PaQ, short for Mike O’Brien Pack, named after its creator[citation needed]), is an archiving file format used in several of Blizzard Entertainment’s games.
MPQs used in Blizzard’s games generally contain a game’s data files, including graphics, sounds, and level data. The format’s capabilities include compression, encryption, file segmentation, extensible file metadata, cryptographic signature and the ability to store multiple versions of the same file for internationalization and platform-specific differences. MPQ archives can use a variety of compression algorithms which may also be combined.
Usage in gaming
Blizzard has utilized the MPQ file format for archiving game files in a number of their games, including:
Diablo
Diablo: Hellfire developed by Synergistic Software
Lords of Magic developed by Sierra Entertainment
Diablo II
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
StarCraft
StarCraft: Brood War
WarCraft II: Battle.net Edition
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
World of Warcraft and all its expansions
StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty
Diablo III
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPQ
tldr
So Mike O’Brien (president of ArenaNet) created an archiving file format called MPQ that’s been used in video games as far back as Diablo I and most recently Diablo III, not to mention World of Warcraft and all its expansions along with every other game Blizzard has released.
If that’s not a pioneer, tell me who/what is.
Tag you’re it.

OP, pull up your diapers, start your own group instead of waiting for someone to pick you up in theirs.
Doesn’t do much if your starting a group but others aren’t on YOUR fractal number is it? To ignore a VERY easy to notice problem is either ignorance or stupidity. I am guessing one, which do you think I am guessing? The problem will get worse.
Or have you just never noticed story mode problems that even DEVS have stated is a problem? Probably not, you seem to have a blindfold on
But just wait till people leave and newblood isn’t welcomed, bet you will be happy with the 0 playerbase then.
Btw I pugged to 22 – so don’t even start.
To help with the problem of finding folks at any given tier of FoTM I composed the following thread on a process to quickly search multiple overflow servers (posted both here and Guru).
So I am trying to help the community, one which I’ve happily spent the last 7 or so years. Moreover, I genuinely believe each one of has the responsibility foster a the growth & health of our community on various sites and forums, and good times in game.

It makes me sick to read the OP (and all the other QQ’ers) threads and comments like they know wtf they’re talking about in terms of game development.
I have the urge to beat you and the rest if the children similar to you like the red headed stepchild, then throw a bottle of milk in your mouth and ground you to your room until adult hood with no more video games.
OP, pull up your diapers, start your own group instead of waiting for someone to pick you up in theirs.
And no I’m not a parent and from what I get, neither were the OP’s.
The question “How do I server hop” a.k.a move between the overflow servers in Lions Arch was asked on the Guildwars 2 Guru forums in relation to forming groups for FoTM.
I thought Id re-post my reply in case it helps folks who only frequent these forms.
Guru thread http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/76091-overflow-server-hopping/#entry2097299
Please Note: The STOP ‘lf1m’ posts, use lfg site! sticky relieves the need for this. This humble post is intended for the folks who choose to not use that service.
The Process
…of overflow server hopping (I refer to it as bouncing) is to continually log out to the character select screen then back into the game over and over. In doing so your character is placed into a new/different overflow server for the map that you’re located in each time.
This is typically done in maps like Lions Arch when searching players to join for dungeon runs like FoTM. Each time you log out and back in, you’re placed in a different overflow server, you advertise for what you’re looking for, rinse & repeat. Once the group has all its five players (or whatever it is you’re looking for), 4 of the 5 party members will “join in Lions Arch” to the 5th to be placed in the same overflow server as the 5th before entering the instance.
This is possible because overflow servers house players from across all servers, thus one has the ability to quickly search through hundreds (if not thousands) of more players than if you were stay put to advertise in one/your current (overflow or home) server.
Extra Stuff
In GW1 we didn’t have to do this exact process because
1) there was a proper group finder in each city/hub (added to the game sometime after launch)
2) more accurately, cities with high population were divided into “districts” that one could choose from a drop down list.
In GW1, once you joined a group from the group finder you were automatically pulled from your current district into the district the rest of the party was in without having to do a “join” in x.
Personal Theory
In all honesty GW2 is like GW1 in the sense that once could feasibly play with any player from anywhere in the world due to the district drop down menu. In GW2 they call it overflow servers, but really they are “GW1 like districts” in a layman’s technical sense.
Regarding home servers, I think perhaps Anet did this to create the sense of home servers (in part for WvW) and create an environment for a player population who is used to the idea of the separate (home) server(s) topology.

On 08/28/12 I purchased 2 dye packs which I did not received. I opened a ticket on 08/28/12 and received an apologetic reply two days later with no indication it would be investigate or resolved any time soon.
On 09/02/12 I I updated my ticket to say the issue is persisting, no reply from ANET.
Last night 09/04/12 I purchased 2 Salvaging Kits and did not received them, I updated the same ticket for the Dye packs to note that as well, still no reply from ANET.
Very well written
