No inputs on best-looking armor for male Charr?
Which gear set, in your opinion, is most valuable for PvE/Dungeons for a 6/6/0/0/2 Grenades/Bombs/xyz Engineer? (asking this due to the recent “nerf” to +% critical damage stat on berserker)
Berserker: is it still the best, despite the concept of Ferocity?
Assassin: will the increased crit chance help? (using Sigil of Strength on my weapons)
Rampager: will the added condi damage assist me (as grenades and bombs both have a fair number of conditions, as does the pistol)?
Thanks.
PS: Bonus question: best looking dungeon gear set for a male Charr?
Thanks for the tips! Tried it out in AC p3, it’s fairly quick and easy.
I have one last question. Would swapping out my Knight’s gear with Rampager gear be useful? Considering that Bombs and Grenades inflict a lot of condition damage as well, as does the Pistol.
Ok, thanks. I’ll max out Firearms then.
Any tips on Might stacking in an average PUG dungeon run?
Hi.
I use a 6/5/0/1/2 Bombs/Grenades/random (Mines during combat, Slick Shoes when running across dungeons, can use whatever) build.
I have Knights gear for the survivability over pure Zerker, though my weapons (Pistol/Shield) and accessories are Zerker.
I returned after a long while. My Knights gear has a medley of runes based on Might stacking as I used Juggernaut FT/EG build earlier.
I was wondering, would a full set of Runes of the Pack be viable? +100 Power, +125 Precision, a rather excellent buff effect, and greater Swiftness duration for running past mobs.
This is obviously for Dungeon runs/general PVE.
So, Runes of the Pack set viable? Also, should I use Incendiary Powder over Explosive Powder?
Any other recommendations/suggestions for my build?
Thanks.
Still looking for a guild..
Well the timing is the key thing. No real point joining a guild if NO ONE is on. I’m okay if there are 5-10 people, that is more than enough. But 1-2 makes me sad
Greetings,
I am a 23 year old engineer (in real life, in game I am a lv 80 Engineer), looking for a nice, friendly, and most importantly mature (18+) guild to join. My interests are-:
PvE/Open world
Dungeons (recently started EXP mode)
Fractals (recently started them)
Guild Missions (never done them)
WvW (rarely)
However, my play timings are odd because I am from India. According to GMT (or UTC), I play a minimum of 2 hours, at any time between 2:00-6:30 p.m. on weekdays, and any/no hours on weekends, depending on RL.
About me: I am a cool and casual guy, no hardcore elitism, no raging. I work 12 hours a day, and I just play to have fun.
So if there’s any guild out there with lots of people on around this time, or even a FEW people on around this time, it’d be great to join you!
Please PM me on:
Darksteel Grim (mostly on this guy)
Wraithsmile
Fist Of The Maker
Zoryk
Thanks for the response!
I considered the Might on Elixir initially, but as I got closer to 80 and once I got the Sigil of Strength, I started noticing how ridiculously easy it got for me to stack Might on myself. The burning on crit is VERY tempting though, considering Flame Jet’s +10% vs burning foes. I’ll have to try to work something out there.
I’m just afraid of the squishiness from pure zerker, though I realize the damage gap is big. I just don’t wanna get insta-gibbed =/
Bump. What, it can’t be perfect =/
Hi.
I just hit 80 on my Engi at last (was 54 six months ago, then took a long break, came back and did Clockwork Chaos + some dungeons for levelling). Now that I’ve finalized my build, I just wanted some feedback on it, to see whether or not it’s really as good as I feel it to be, and if I can make it better-:
Purpose: PvE, Dungeons, Fractals, maybe some WvW
Skills:
- Healing Turret: because it’s just so useful as a fire-and-forget heal, and the water field is good when burst healing is needed
- Flamethrower: just having way too much fun ever since I chose this over Grenades.
- Elixir Gun: really really versatile, and shortest CD blast finisher skill I have.
- Choice of Elixir B/Elixir C/Goggles/Elixir S/Rocket Boots: this is situation dependent. Elixir C for condition-heavy areas, Goggles if I’m the vuln-stacker, Elixir S for Stability, Rocket Boots if I REALLY need another blast finisher, and Elixir B just cause it’s so kitten good.
Traits: 0/30/0/20/20
-Fireforged Trigger, obviously.
-Juggernaut, again obvious.
-Precise Sights, with FT’s high attack speed, vuln stacking is pretty good.
-Invigorating Speed: with Speedy Kits, I have near perma-Swiftness and Vigor. Extremely helpful, since I’m still learning and not really that good at the game.
-Deadly Mixture
-Speedy Kits
-Kit Refinement: this is open to change, but nothing else REALLY holds my attention much. Maybe Static Discharge or Leg Mods? Unsure
Equipment: I’m still kind of poor, and was wearing a mismatch of equips till 80. I’ve just bought a full set of Knight’s armor (Rare Tier), and equipped it with Superior Runes of Strength. Soon, I will be flipping Rings, Accessories, Amulet, and Back brace to Berserker stats and berserker enchantments. The reasoning is, the additional survivability from Knight’s helps me to survive my mistakes, as compared to the crazy squishiness from Berserker gear. For offensive stats, the rings/acc/bracelet/back should hopefully help me cover it up.
Weapon: Berserker stat Rare tier rifle, with Superior Sigil of Strength.
Boons:
Perma-Swiftness
Perma-Vigor
15-20 stacks of Might are easily maintained.
Fury with Elixir B
Retaliation with Elixir B, or blast combo of Super Elixir’s light field.
Conditions:
Bleed & Vuln are easily applied with Crits. Burns are also prominent.
Poison, with Fumigate, and Weakness with Tranquilizer Dart are also easy to maintain.
This build works for me like a bruiser. Fairly tanky, pretty good damage (which skyrockets to pretty huge damage when vs multiple opponents), and excellent support. I frequently stack Might and Area Retaliation on allies, along with the constant healing from Super Elixir and Healing Turret. When required, burst heal is also available.
So far I’ve been having a lot of fun with this build. I used to use Grenades, but eventually got bored of them, and Bombs are too tedious. Pistol/Shield is a really boring combo as well, personally. I derived this build mostly from Phineas Poe’s guide (big thank you to him), just changed some traits, equips and skills around. Please tell me what you think of it.
Just saw your links, extremely informative. Thanks a lot!
50 views and no reply? Bump, please help.
Hi.
Haven’t been playing GW2 since 6 months, but now I’m back and will be levelling my Engineer again (as soon as GW2 finishes reinstalling -_-). He’s level 52, and I was going for a Rifle-based Flamethrower/Elixir Gun/random support skill build. Just wanted to know, how viable are Flamethrowers and Elixir gun atm? Should I shift to Rifle/Bombs or Rifle/Grenades instead?
Oh and my traits, if I remember rightly were in Firearms and Alchemy.
I plan to be using this guy for PvE, WvW and hopefully lots of dungeon runs. Not anticipating any PVP anytime soon.
Any build advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Windows/drivers/etc up to date? Might something not being recognized.
Post Game advisor logs if it doesn’t work after downlaoding. (See Part 1.2)
Thanks for the reply.
Windows is up to date, yes.
My NVIDIA drivers are not, as the last time I tried to update them a week or two ago, something with the installation went haywire and my PC started crashing at desktop. I had to remove and re-install the NVIDIA drivers, which returned me to the old version that I’m still using.
Hi,
I just bought the digital edition of the game, and it is updating as I type. However, on the client it is displaying a Hardware Issues Detected message, which says that my PC does not meet the minimum requirements, specifically: that I do not have a dual core 2.0 GHz processor.
Now this is not true, as I actually have an E7200 Core2Duo 2.53 GHz. So why am I getting this message, and will this have an impact on the game? Will I be able to run it?
Also, my full specs are-:
2.53 GHz Intel Core2Duo
2 GB RAM
NVIDIA 9500 GT 1 GB VRAM
Broadband connection of 2 MBPS
Would I be able to play the game properly?
Thanks for your time.
