Never got one, but I saw someone find one (Zip? Zen? Something short and beginning with Z anyway) from Balthazer the other day. they were… pretty jubilant about it
“This bakery is nothing more than a cash grab!” Of course it is, that’s how… well, it’s how the very concept of money works, really.
Arenanet are providing a service, they sort of would like to be reimbursed for the time and effort they spent and continue to spend on it. While I probably wouldn’t play the game if it had a monthly subscription, I don’t mind throwing a few sheckels into the pot on a more voluntary basis every so often. Otherwise they stop producing all this lovely new content, the game stagnates and everyone loses interest.
I think it’d become a problem and more of a shameless money mill if it were more geared towards a more pay to win style system in which the very best gear could only be bought with gems for which you’d exchanged hard cash. As it is it seems more like “pay to look cool”, which I’m completely fine with. But given that there are ways for individual players to buy whatever they want without spending a real world cent, you could hardly accuse Arenanet of rucking people, could you?
If arguments be the food of trolls, shout on,
Give them excess of it; that surfeiting,
Their appetite may sicken, and so die.
…or something
Well, darn. Obviously it takes stacks more work to basically rework large chunks of mission(s) than to just reshuffle them, but while I don’t mind a reshuffle if Anet thinks it works better that way, they should really put the effort in to make sure it all still makes sense. And then release the update as a bundle. Particularly for people like me who get easily confused
I’m a new player and having an absolute whale of a time trundling through the Personal Story, but my arrival in Orr has been met with stuff not being… entirely right.
Forgive me, I can’t remember the names of the missions right now, but the one in which the Eye of Zhaitan is killed, is revealed to be King Reza, and and we cleanse Orr with Caledbolg seems misplaced. I rocked up to the start of the mission and met a bunch of new (to me) characters I had no idea who they were, but greeted them like old friends and comrades, discussed events I have no memory of and was generally pretty confused.
Now, subsequent to that mission, I’m meeting all these people for the first time (again) and catching up on what was discussed in that earlier mission. I feel like I’m in Doctor Who.
It seems fairly clear that I’ve managed to do some content way ahead of when I was supposed to. I don’t mind so much but it’s probably worth looking into to see how it happened and if anything can be done about it. Probably it spoiled some of what’s about to happen in the story for me; it’d be nice to make sure it doesn’t affect anyone else
Ticket # 989627
Please can you take a look at my brother’s ticket. It’s been three days and the only response he’s received was the automatic reply. It’s been three days of pretty much constant moaning about it – please, give me some respite!
Seriously though, he’d love to be able to play the game and I’d love to play it with him, so it’d be great if you could help him out.
Many thanks.
