Arenanet wants you to play all aspects of their game and they make one very special and very hard to get weapon require things from both PvE and WvW. I could see valid complaints if the 2 were balanced now, but they are not. The balance of whats required in WvW VS PvE is downright stupid as it is now. Its 95% PvE and 5% WvW. And you can buy the rank needed with laurels. People are seriously going emo and ragequitting over this?
There should be lots more added yet from WvW for a Legendary weapon as the balance is way off. This is a path towards balancing the game aspects more and I hope they take more steps in this direction.

If those were the requirements right from the start, I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but you have to be able see peoples frustration when they are so so so close and then to have the goal posts moved, I think at the very least some people have the right to feel disheartened.

I was just 20 shards away from making my first legendary weapon. I don;t want and never wanted to play www. I play gw since the begining, 8 and a half years ago. Today i quit. Forever. Thanks arenanet, you’re the best. I’ll make sure every one on every single forum in this internet knows what you just did to us.

I feel your pain bro, I’m only 3 wvw vistas away from making my first one, was definitely going to happen this weekend, have been in such a good mood cause it was finally going to happen after over 500 days of playing, I grinded everything. I read this, this morning and my heart sunk. I could rage, say I’m going to quit but would achieve nothing, I am at the lowest point in this game I have ever been. Really sad right now, donno what to do, map completing in wvw was painful enough.

TLDR: Play smart, save up enough, to prevent feeling burnt up, avoid raging and disappointment and maybe your goal can be achieved. Have GW2 been a sub-to-play game, and P2W, I would have spent more than $100 for the year that I played this game.

Just want to share my “achievement” of getting my Legendary. I know some of you have made more than one, I have seen them myself, and that’s awesome. Well, I finally made mine. Some of info I’d like to share:

• I don’t farm AP
• I do Daily religiously, just 5 of PvE daily, I don’t do PvP daily. If I have accidentally done more than the minimum required, that’s a bonus
• I do Monthly religiously, just the minimum. If I have accidentally done more than the minimum required, that’s a bonus
• I don’t buy Gems with real money, I only bought two Bank Expansion tabs
• I did convert my gold to Gems when I needed the Bank Expansion
• I don’t stay in Frostgorge and farm all day, nor do I stay in Queensdale to do the same
• I do jump from World Bosses to World Bosses, but only when Guildies are on. If not, I just do what I want to do, which is anything under the Tyrian sun.
• I don’t grind dungeons, nor WvWvW. I join some if an opportunity present itself.
• I don’t grind L.S., though I do some of them if I like the content, but totally ignore them if I don’t like it.
• I have never felt forced using the Gem store to make me accomplish some tasks, whether PvE, PvP, or WvW.
• The RNG god has never been kind to me, I bought my Precursor
• I have tried my luck at the forge a lot of times too, and called Orr my home way back release till Anet released Lost Shore patch and nerfed Orr. I got robbed of my home, and become a wanderer. I stay either at Hoelbrak but mostly at Rata Sum.

That is awesome man, I play very similarly, been striving for twilight, been playing since BWE and I’m so close, map completion the only bit left (it is so boring) got dusk from AC P3 last week, first pre and the one I need, what are the chances.

WoW … other than Sai no-one even mentioned it. I’m not saying it’s races-applicable, I have no idea how you would practically do it … but:

MOUNTS.

Nothing beats riding around on something, especially if it’s a gigantic mythical beast (or for Charr, maybe a Tank).

That too & mods so I can customise the kitten outta my UI and have things the way i want them like i did in WoW. Hell lets just take WoW with the GW2 philosophy of rewarding people for helping each other instead of rewarding for kitten each other over and that’s my dream game.

I’m pretty sure I will give up on this, been trying since the start of the jubilee, I think my latency is playing a big part in the difficulty. If they could take the dome off so the camera angles were not so terrible would make a big difference. Tried all day Saturday and I mean all day, I can get to phase to about 50% of the time, but by that time I’m pretty much dead anyway and just get slaughtered, I got about 3/10th of her health off one time, it is just too much to deal with at the same time, if the camera angles were better would maybe be doable for me. I seriously got depressed after trying all day and getting nowhere really. And the announcer, I am seriously over that guy, please shutup!! But on the brighter side I found the champ farm zerg in FGS, that is hella fun.
