Can someone from the devs crew tell me what should I do when I see someone who should be reported because he’s violating EULA and I can’t use the report option?
I have had such situation because the player was untargetable and instead of ID there was “uknown”.
I have sent an email report and all what support did was sending me instruction how to use report option. I wrote in my email I wasn’t able to use report. Does support even read their mail?
I play on Aurora Glade server.
Please take at look at the chain event for opening Arah cause it’s almost impossible to find it accessible. I like Arah and I’d like to finally finish my achievement.
Right now we are unable to get in there for a month or so(to get inside you have to be lucky enough and be there when the event started for the first time after patch). Even after updates it’s accessible for a short time and than bugged again.
The message on screen is ‘The Pact are strategizing…’. Nothing happens.
Either someone is bugging it on purpose cause finds it funny either there’s other cause.
If someone likes dungeons it’s only the matter of that person preferences. Some ppl love them, some hate them.
I’d like to point something for the ppl claiming that grinding dungeons is required.
I have spent some time in Aion. After looking at 3.0 I gave up completely. From my point of view and experience: instances in Aion after first run are boring like hell. As far as I recall I almost fallen asleep in Besh. I did about 200 runs there and never got full armor set. I also thanks to the help of my friends was able to buy weapon cause it never dropped.
This is also connected to the holy trinity. In Aion my friend playing tank was falling asleep at some of the bosses (seriously, we had to shout at TS to wake him up).
Ok let’s say I could give up this set and get Abyss one – requiring millions of AP and hundreds of medals (what means farming AP instance twice a day). The third option is arena set – the easiest way of getting eq but also requiring time especially when you start with no decent gear at all.
Comparing to the ‘grindy’ style MMOs GW2 has very low grind level required for getting eq with max stats.
It has higher grind level required comparing to the GW1 but this was a bit obvious concerning the higher max level and higher difference in equipment statistics.
The thing I’d like to see improved is chest loot cause now it’s disappointing but first and foremost I’d like the bugs to be fixed I won’t even have a problem waiting for new content to see those fixed.
Thanks for advice Pritst but I want to point sth. We already knew that method with blocking her and damaging while she’s stealthed. We tried twice. Instead of standing in one spot she teleported to the room next to the statue.
I don’t think dps was our problem having two time warps.
The major problem was we were not able to get her out of stealth fast.
Maybe someone from developers should take a look how sparks work and correct them cause I suppose if those were going into the rings as they should we’d manage.
Today me and my friends were doing path 4 in Arah. We had some serious problems with Simir (Acolyte of Dwayna). We did some research about the tactics but either the sparks are bugged either we do not know what we did wrong.
According to the information we found Simir at 50% HP goes stealth and we should bring the sparks to the circles near statue. Than Simir goes stealth basing on timer not HP value. The problem is we did as we read we should and the boss never went to phase two. Sparks didn’t want to go into circles even if we used the tactics where two players pulled them. This caused Dwayna to reach almost full HP and we again had to bring her to 50%. We tried over and over but we were not able to make sparks enter circles fast enough.
The other description said we should bring 4 sparks, let her get full HP and than bring the 5th spark. This didn’t work too.
Third way we found was to pull boss outside room and block near rocks. This wasn’t the right on either.
We definatelly were not undergeared cause all of us have full exotic sets. Regarding the proffesions in team we had: warrior, guardian, ranger and 2x mesmer.
Could someone be so kind and give us some advice about Simir mechanics?
I’m not sure if it was ment to be done the way it is.
I was fighting the pirate hydra queen in Bloodtide Coast. I had to do it twice to get achievement. For the first time when she was on low HP I started ressurecting a downed player next to me. Before I was dealing damage to her all the time. I didn’t get the achievement.
Me and my friends noticed that to get this boss achievement you should still hit her while she has no HP and gets the invulnerable state.
Please fix or at least inform us if this was a bug or a feature.

Let me point you the major difference in your as Arena Net approach.
When I reported bots with screenshots via email in Guild Wars 1 I received:
1. email with information my message was sent to investigation and information it will take about 48h;
2. After those 48h I received email like “hello, we have checked all reported players. On x accounts we have found bots. Those accouns were permanently banned.”
3. Three days later I saw no bots in their farming spots (I checked all the districts).
Now lets take a look at the email I receive in GW2 – blah blah blah use in game system.
Sweet. That’s NCSoft approach of telling me politely to GTFO. I know it well from Aion and definately I don’t want ANet which I respect to get the customer approach from the NCSoft. NCS was capable of making quite huge amount of Aion player base to vow not to touch anything with NCS logo.
The group of bots I reported a month ago is still farming same two mobs in exactly the same place. I know cause I run past them almost every day while gathering materials.
Please don’t tell me my respect for Arena Net as a group of artists, designers, authors (and so on) with real passion for creating games was a mistake.
It took me some time to learn not to die instantly. I have chosen ele because it was my main and favourite class in GW1. I manage, maybe I’m not immortal but I manage.
I got used to the fact I can’t spec ‘glass cannon’ like other classes but …
Lots of skills are bugged and not working as they should. Some of them need serious changes to be more efficient. I only hope it will come quite soon cause ressing someone in critical moment with glyph and seeing him still dead is annoying (this was only one example of bugged skill, cause it works only when you’re lucky even if you’ll stand directly on dead person).
Another thing is that seeing you’re doing 1/8 damage of your warrior friends is kinda sad. If I get eq for ‘glass cannon’ I doubdt I would reach more than 1/4 of their damage.
Good job fixing the exploitable bugs in CoF. I just went there to check if those were really fixed (of course I was taking a look only at the things I knew about). I haven’t check if the reward system works well but I’ll probably do later today.
One thing I want to point after watching the movie with a group killing mobs spawning during bomb planting. This will not be doable with totaly different profession setup. I also clearly see why it’s doable with the setup I saw.
So it would be nice if someone in ANet considered if as promised explorables are hard but doable with all the setups (I’m not thinking about 5 elementalists setup but rather balanced ones but not necessarly made from 2 warriors and a guardian as a core).
Regarding this exploit – I went two times to see if it realy works as said, I reported exploit and I stopped going to CoF at all. I like my account.
Concernign that the famous speed clear in CoF is impossible cause ppl can’t get in the dungeon (everyone finds themselves in other instance than rest of team) I’m not sure what to think.
I know they admitted the system ‘bugges sometimes’ but it’s rather all the time than sometimes.
My point was to say someone in ANet has taken a wrong turn in the starategy thinking cause some paths can’t be called speedclears, they are done properly and still hit the ‘speedclear limit’. I do not claim it’s doable with a PUG group but I play with guildmates using Team Speak and we have our tactics for different routes.
Why the hell should we be punished for thinking about tactics and mastering it? Is running into mobs and dieing 100 times a proper tactic according to ANet?
One more thing ANet should consider after thinking about the SC guilds in GW1. Lots of them were doing it to achieve the shortest possible time. They were proud when they made a better time than others. Me and friends were doing SC also. Not for farming but to see what will be the best time we can achieve.
Concerning this facts we can assume there will be people who will find hitting the shortes possible time fun but if they will not be rewarded at all they will not do it.
This DR should be reconsidered and clear for all the players.
I do not say anti-farming system is totally wrong but should be more reasonable (and properly working).
For the 5 years of waiting we have heard ‘When it’s done’. Guess what it’s NOT DONE.
For the Christ sake fix your kitten system.
We went with a friend to make complete AC (all 3 explorable paths). We went with lower level characters (1x lvl 80, rest above 40). We took a friend with us WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN IN ANY DUNGEON BEFORE. We didn’t speed clear cause all the runs took longer than an hour (with lower levels it’s not as easy as with 80s).
Our friend got 1st run – 45 tokens, 2nd run – 30 tokens, 3 rd run – 20 tokens.
Will you finally admitt your system is broken or should we stop doing dungeons at all not to hit this so called ‘anti speedclear’ block?
Right now ANet is acting like the NCS in Aion (it was not a compliment). What has happened to EU Aion playerbase everyone who was there knows.

And FYI going to Twilight with full lvl 80 team and killing everything takes about 25-35 minutes but I wouldn’t call it speedclear. What we should do? Sit before boss chamber for 30 minutes?
You seem to have strange definition for both speedclear and exploit (I will never understand how ppl who killed everything in the path can be called exploiters).
After seeing lots of different sets of weapons I ask myself ‘what the hell has happened with GW1 designers’. I’ll explain why.
In GW1 even if I look at common weapon skin I feel it’s ‘polished’, shaped with care of the final design. Right now the GW2 weapons seem to lack this ‘polish’ which tells us how detail the work of artists and graphics was (this is about the dungeon weapons mostly). I play with all the graphic options set to high so the chance I’m missing something is quite low.
Maybe it’s hard to understand what exactly I mean. The skins are rough, they miss this ‘something’ what catches the eye. Some of them are nice and have potential if they were tweaked a bit.
Having weapons dyeable would also be nice (for example I like the nightmare weapons design but I hate this pinkish color).
I would really love to see some skins from the GW1, not necessarly the rarest ones (for example my beloved mursaat hornbow).
I guess my elementalist definately would present herself better in the GW1 dance than ‘shuffling’ ^^.
We are a month after the game reliease. In my opinion some profession will need skill changes. That’s normal and I’m used to it after spending 5 years in GW1.
The point of my topic is – separate the skill balance as you did in GW1 but this time do it from the begining.
The impact changes necessary for sPvP/WvW might have can be very significant for PvE. For example in some cases we can find ourselves not able to complete explorable mode in dungeons.
Has anyone noticed that this skill is bugged?
Today me and a group of my friends were running TA. We had 3 elementalists. During the boss fight it happened that 2 of us died. My friend wanted to use Glyph of Renewal to ressurect us fast and the skill didn’t work at all. Later we even tried with shorter range, still no effect.
I am wondering if it’s the skill bugged or maybe the skill description is wrong.
Regarding this damage – I once went with my mesmer to jumping puzzle at eternal. Near the entrance I was one hitted by thief – I had 21k HP (unfortunately I didn’t take a screenshot). I do not claim there was no my fault in it cause I wasn’t paying enough attention to my surroundings maybe but I just wonder if I noticed him earlier would I be able to survive?
Efaicia I tend to use staff because of nice aoe chill/cripple combination, I often take the role of crowd controller. In case of elementalist I find other weapon sets ‘uncomfortable’ for me. It’s rather the matter of my personal playstyle. I switch for scepter/focus when I feel it’s better.
Are you serious Guen? I am an elementalist and consistantly the one reviving downed group mates. I rarely get downed, let alone die. I have more HP in my crap gear than my husbands exotic geared gaurdian o.O more hp than the necro and mesmer I play with. maybe you need to rethink the stats on your gear if your hp is so low? Glass cannon builds are horrid….horrid, and is probably the entire reason people around you have jsut stopped inviting ‘elementalists’
As an elementalist you can rely on dodge 2x in a row. After that you have reflects, blinds, shields even an ability to eliminate all projectiles. How are you still dying?
I am not glass cannon, I have the armor/jewlery version with vitality and max traits in toughness (also for condition damage), maybe not complete 100% set cause I’m still gathering materials for craft. I also plan to get full toughness set as second. The point is how the hell mobs hit me harder than mesmer with lower armor value than me (no vulnerability was applied on me). Even if I invest 30 points in vitality traits I will still have lower HP than my mesmer friends. I know I can use shields and dodges that is not the point. I do not mean to blame developers for my lack of attention but there are situations where some things do not trigger (like dodge for example) or character freezes not willing to move (not a lag, cause my ping is fine), or there’s not enough time to react – like to situation I described with ranged mob switching aggro.
Besides in the case of CoF runs I do not understand why people did not want to take elementalists there cause I was able to quite efficiently help in controlling mobs (chill, cripple) and thanks to lava font the last crystal was taken down much faster than without elementalist in team.
I do not mind making this route harder they were ment to be hard. However there are some ‘but’ frases.
Have you really checked if those are doable without creating the ‘must have proffession’ situation? I have already seen ‘no elementalists’ recruitment in map chat.
Have you checked if the armor statistic works properly? For example after reduction to level 55 I have around 1200 armor on my elementalist. My friend on mesmer has around 1000. Why the hell mobs deal more damage to me than to my friend?
Second thing is the difference in HP amount – elementalist has the lowest HP from all the cloth professions. Concerning the amount of damage I am able to deal I am to squishy to surive a fight. It’s mostly one hit from the silver/gold mobs in explorable mode. Sometimes I am not even able to use dodge esspecially when the crazy auto attack blocks any actions (yes such situation happen when I spam dodge to survive and it doesn’t want to work).
I also get mobs aggro a lot, ussually after using 3-4 skills. It doesn’t matter that another player delt more damage to the mob – the mobs love me more.
You say mobs deal in CoF around 4k damage why the hell in some dungeons I am one hitted to death? It’s annoying cause when mob is ranged and switches aggro to me I do not see it untill it attacks me.
Option show target’s target would be helpfull.
Some of the conditions bug, after their effect ends or is removed by players skill, the effect is still active (good example is the paralyze from spiders in Twilight Arbor).
Another thing is that mobs tend to have the stun or knock down/damage combo impossible to survive. Good example of this is fire elemental in Metrica Province – if you’ll be knocked down, you will not get up. By the way this elemental still ‘fixes’ fire fields on the bridge making ressurecting dead players impossible.
As far as I remember one of the developers (I do not recall exact name) promised to fix it.
I agree with lots of mentioned suggesstions but I’d like to add one from myself.
Please mark my target with red dot on minimap. In large groups of mobs/players I find myself not knowing which way my target is (esspecially after dodging few times or running around).
