@Falky, Are you using Windows 10? I had a recent update that caused a hazy red/green over the entire screen. I also was seeing double of everything, which resulted in a light outline of my characters………one red, one green. I did a rollback and the problem was fixed. GW2 was coming up as incompatible with Windows 10
Why is there an cap for achievement points concerning daily/monthly totals?
Per wiki : There is a cap of 15,000 Arenanet Points.png for daily and now-defunct monthly achievements combined. Once the cap is reached, additional points from the “Daily Completionist” meta achievement will no longer increase the account’s achievement points, but individual reward bonus chests will still be given out.
Rewards, including bonus ones, are determined by your personal reward level. For example, a character whose personal reward level is 8 but completes a fractal at difficulty scale 12 will have no chance to receive rings or weapons. [Note: this may be outdated]………This is from Guild Wars 2 wiki.
Please increase the limit of in game mails that can be sent. 2 is far too few. There should be no limitations for guild members, mutual friends and people that are in your squad/party.

I was having the same issues and the best thing I could do was to completely uninstall everything. Then I found myself trying to constantly log in and it would lock up continually. Now just a bit ago I go what I consider to be a suspicious mail that is supposed to be from an Anet GM. Here is the in game mail as follows:
