+1 please bring them back

Before we get thrown into this discussion I gotta know something. People are saying that they love getting CC’ed 5 or 6 times…. This would imply that you are fighting a group/zerg or a really annoying hammer/mace-shield warrior. If this problem is persistant in group fights you need more guardians for Stability. Plain and simple. Guardians are the key to ignoring CC and for supporting those who are affected by it. Now if we are talking about just fighting a certain class than I can understand. But for say zerg/group/havoc fights, Guardians are a must have. Just how the meta works.

And no I’m not implying people MUST run those runes/food. Just suggesting a way to combat the CC’s without the use of guardian stability or Group condi removal

BG is so big now they can fill a 5th BL – OS.

There weren’t many sor players because half our server is not stuck in queue.

Wouldn’t OS be the best place for your " Play for fight " theme ?

It definitely is a huge power creep and it shoudln’t have been implemented in the first place. Anyone arguing that WvW is supposed to be imbalanced is just trolling in my humble opinion. You don’t advertise your game for being imbalanced. In it’s current implementation ascended gear is just a terrible addition to the game.

My vote goes to BG.

Trolling aside (I troll a lot and say some mean things ) this is a server that has hovered around the top for the longest time. They have a core group of guilds who have kept the server at the top in WvW for the longest time. Oh, and that pride. Of course, there is #magswag, but the ammount of hashtags applicable to BG is unmatched.

Their roamers are also some of the best and most coordinated. When the mid-tier servers call T1 zerg trash, it is the might of RIOT and oPP that really show off their small man might to a level that just makes them unmatched. The RGs of the roaming world.

First to kill Teq, and clear winner of season one WvW. BG deserves my thumbs up.

If I were to pick a second, I would pick Maguuma. I server which I can respect, AGAIN, trolling aside. A server that doesn’t care about winning or losing. They care about the fights and having fun. Some kitten good roamers too, and all around just an amazing mindset to be for a WvW server. Thumbs up.

My initial response was far angrier in tone so I am reposting it after taking a dose of my own medicine.

Is that how you want to represent our server? gtfo? I made a comment about the majority of the people in the borderlands maps this week. People who are still a part of Blackgate, people who make Blackgate a great all around server (we are tier 1 in WvW and PvE). Elitism is one thing, but your tone has no place in the conversation in my opinion.

If you dont like it, gtfo.. please.. is that better?

I realize this post is a little late… but I did not get time to post it last week durring JQ’s match up with #magswag.

I did not get a lot of time to play WvW this last week VS. Maguma. But the times that I did get in, when I wasn’t sitting in Queue, I ran into a few of Maguma’s roamers and they seemed to enjoy dueling at the windmill. So I hit record whenever they wanted a duel. One duel I did not record was vs. a mesmer that made me look like I had never played the game before. Sorry I didn’t get the footage.. but you know who you are.

I think you’re understating how many bags I’ve been dropping. Probably by a factor of three or four.

I was going to go get some coffee and a muffin this afternoon, walk out to my car, battery is dead. Blackgate saw us painting the BL green and actually physically sabotaged my car. I checked my brake lines – all cut. It couldn’t have been the ex-wife, it had to have been Blackgate.

First Blackgate gets a new guild ZD which their guild utterly just destroys 3 time zones. They only play in 1, but that doesn’t matter – it’s one of those “inbetweenzy” ones. And another guild from awhile ago – but it matters now, it didn’t before – does now.

Blackgate isn’t even Tier 1. It’s Tier 0, or .5, I don’t know I’m not a creative person, I only work here. Can’t believe this is happening. It used to be balanced, but BG got a whole bunch of guilds like totally a bunch, like oodles, el grande numero. SOR has become the Spartans. Blackgate now has 24/7 coverage, which is apparently, 24 more hours than SOR does now.

What a nice team work BG and SoS are doing right now! You look like a true couple, SoS from north and BG from south at our EB keep… are you guys on the same TS? Because it is so organized now… like twin souls.

Thieves need more condi clear. I like everything else in the change.

However, be careful adding “cast” times on a class that should be mobile and fluid or you will damage the playstyle and people who like that playstyle will give up on the class.

The thief should not have as much evades, I agree, but we do need the fast pace “hit and run” feel which you may be limiting with the sword.

ITT: Soloyolo roamers who got 2v1d by some oPP guys map zerg.

I play on SOR, and I am ashamed that we aren’t showing up to fight. I continue to fight to the last, including in Hills in BG BL last night. Held you guys off several times, including contesting the circle successfully 3 times.

Come now, SoR, life isn’t fair. Get over it and fight.

A 2 hour+ queue in every borderland, and we can’t find a single person in the Bloodlust area. The area is as dead as the quaggans were.

Problem with meeting an oPP is that they run from most 1v1 and come back with their team and than you get /laugh to death.

As the GM of a somewhat well-known roaming group (yes, in T1), I can tell you that the Bloodlust changed everything for my guild. It completely revitalized our GW2 experience.

For about 2-3 months prior to the BL, we had to BEG the other two servers to run more small groups. Most of theirs quit the game at that time, and we were seriously considering moving to T2. We resorted to trying to fight zerg stragglers. Then bloodlust happened. SoR and JQ began to care about small groups again. My guild doesn’t care about the PPT; all we know is that the Bloodlust mechanic created a lot more small roaming groups in T1. Not only that, but our server’s community actually cares about us being on the map now. Our 3-8 roamers make a difference for once! It’s been an amazing month.

I am just afraid that what Rackhir Tanelorn.9123 says above about denying the 1 point from one or both servers won’t be enough incentive for SoR and JQ to continue bringing out their small roaming groups to cap Bloodlust. 3 points per stomp vs 1 point… that’s a huge difference for the SoR and JQ communities to consider. Will it still be worth their while bringing out small groups on more than one map? My guild isn’t the only roaming group on Blackgate. We need a significant population of enemy small groups on every map.

I don’t know how the Bloodlust stomp points affected the lower tiers. My impression was that the lower tiers didn’t care that much about PPT anyway, and just wanted good fights. Have the Bloodlust areas not created a more enjoyable skirmishing environment in the lower tiers??? And the argument above about losing by 100k vs 130k… is that worth removing a mechanic that is considered by many zerg and non-zerg players to be the best mechanic in WvW?

The ignorance of some people in T1 servers is astounding, just like those in lower tiers spouting crap about queue times and skill lag. Funny, you dont play on that tier, Im interested how you know this to be fact.

I’ve played on BG in a small roaming guild for the last 10 months. When we are on a Borderland capping every supply camp and don’t see a soul for 15 minutes outside of the zerg, I would say my observations are accurate. SoR zerg players have no idea how active their own server’s roaming guilds are, or how active their opponent’s roaming guilds are for that matter. Same goes to Blackgate and JQ. So unless you are a roamer, you probably shouldn’t comment on roaming in T1. I’ve even had SoR roamers tell me that the SoR community frowned upon roaming guilds prior to BL.

As I’ve said above, SoR is getting more and more roamers. TW is making an effort to roam 5 mans or less, and I’ve seen some 10-15 groups out there too. I’ve almost NEVER seen this from SoR prior to the Bloodlust. So, good for SoR for changing with the meta. We’ve enjoyed the change very much, but the stigma of SoR being the ultimate blobbing server is not completely undeserved.

Apparently if you’re EVER found in proximity of more of your own players than there are enemy players, even co-incidentally, in a game mode where people can move anywhere of their own accord and there is absoloutely no mechanic balancing the fights towards an even number of players, then you are a bad player.

I love editing quotes, to add further evidence to my obvious stress management problems. I’m a good engineer but my group, my pride, my team – my guild, has yet to learn how to take on larger numbers. For example, that one stream where it was a 6v4. They stood no chance. I’ve personally seen those oPP guys killing folks in a zerg, sometimes as large as a 3:1 ratio, I am just frustrated at my peers own inadequacies.
