Yeah, snowball effect is definitely at play in a lot of areas. Perhaps it’s to get the stomping servers into higher tiers as quickly as possible? Hmm.
It’s true that red does have a really good corner for pressuring SM if they can hold onto it. Pangloss is also the easiest camp to defend, probably to make up for Speldan/Anzalia.
Alright, some players may have noticed that ELO determines your world’s color in WvW. The top seed is green, the middle is blue, and the bottom is red. In the borderlands, this isn’t a big deal…
However, in EBG, the three corners are quite different. Most people consent that green is the easiest to defend as it’s all very close together, where red and blue are much harder to defend due to how spread out some of their things are.
The only logical reason I could see for the more easily defensible corner being given to the top seed is in anticipation of the other two ganging up on them, but even then, it actually encourages the harder to defend corners attacking each other because they’re usually less organized than the top seed.
This isn’t a complaint about the corners being laid out differently from each other or anything. I’m just curious as to why the seeds are assigned in this way.
Melee builds in WvW currently rely on either a good skill set to get you in and out of the fight quickly, or sustain through either damage reduction / regeneration.
With neither of those things, success won’t be found as often in large fights where there’s an active “killzone” (where everyone dumps AoEs) unless you are carefully skirting the zerg, choosing your fights, rather than trying to Leroy them in the face.
Yup, the buff shows up to allies and enemies alike.
Enemies can’t see the actual commander badge; it’s the “you are a commander” buff on the buff bar that they see. It would be nice if they disallowed others from seeing it on your buff bar, but it’s of strategic use sometimes if used as bait.
World completion stars showing up to enemies was a cute idea, but for practicality purposes, it shouldn’t show up in WvW. As a mesmer, if it’s staying that way, I’d appreciate players seeing the star on my clones/phantasms as well.
Love your threads, Fubuki, as well as Kaineng’s attitude in general.
I wish you well in your efforts for promoting unity in your server. It isn’t easy to work with what you’ve got, but it’s how you build a lasting foundation.
You want screen shots ok I’ll post what BG chat looks like. Lifa is in this one.
You want to know what my team is doing while Im fighting? Read the chat log.
HAHAHAHA.
Uh, ok, Iifa reporting in. I was told to come look at this thread for a laugh, and all I have to say is just… wow, lol.
I feel no need to defend myself, my words, or my actions, as I feel everyone here has come to their own successful conclusion about your motivations here.
Thanks for the laugh, troll. Ciao.
Things like this = why I finally gave in to all the requests for me to buy commander. I saw some of the others who were aiming for it and thought, “well… I sure don’t want that guy to get one and there to be no one with presence / server trust to discredit them…”. =/
Do you know what waypoints cost? No one would buy them if you added that on top of them being so easy to contest if you are smart enough to do so regularly.
If you want fair solo encounters, play a roamer in sPvP instead.
It’s happening on NA servers as well. It really needs to be dealt with if these match ups are to stay interesting.
It’s just too problematic that a few exploiters lead to the altar and/or lord bugging out, which becomes a whole new issue on top of the fact that there are cheaters.

I don’t think they should be removed. However, I do think they should reset every 6 hours, to the altar in the north.
If you looked at the rankings that were posted, you’ll notice that Henge is up ahead alone, and then the servers after that are close together in twos rather than in threes.
Thus, the matches are alternating all the way down, with one server either pulling way ahead of the other two, or two servers being relatively equal with the third one getting stomped by both. Pretty much every match up is dealing with this right now.
