Our Competitive eSports team is coming along very nicely.
We’re in the middle of setting up practice times for the current recruits and team members, so apply now while you still have a say in scheduling!
I’ve been informed that we’re looking for more skilled Elementalist, Thief and Engineer players who think they’ve got what it takes to play with us competitively.

We’ve got a few solid recruits from the past few days here on this forum. They’re looking pretty promising and should be a good fit for us.
Keep ’em coming guys.

We’ve been having a great time in the past few days organizing jumping puzzles and dungeon events as mentioned above.
There will be more to come. We’ve just put together a very large TS3 server to replace our old one, so you can expect some great things in the near future.
I wasn’t using any minions, until the elite skill. Even that, just because none of the other 10 pt elites seem worth using (why is Plague so weak?) and I don’t have the 30 pts to test the next ones, yet.
Plague is probably the most overpowered support elite in the entire game for Dungeon running. You have 30 seconds to spam Blind every second on only a 3 minute cooldown. It makes large mobs of creatures laughable, and takes off a lot of pressure against hard-hitting mobs so group members can regen/heal. Do you really think it’s weak?
As for Minions.. the Elite minion is really good for leveling solo as it’s a meatshield, and it’s active skill can be handy as a clutch skill. I really don’t like the inability to control it beyond that though, and it irritates me to no end when it rushes off to attack something randomly while I’m standing still (alt-tabbed out).
I find Bone Minions synergize very well with our Wells though. Why does everyone assume we need to fill our heal, 3 utilities and Elite with minions all the time? Why not mix it up a little. Try using Bone Minions’ Putrid Explosion on a group of enemies sitting in a Well of Suffering. You’d be surprised how much damage it does (plus it Blinds everything).
Not saying they’re “great”, but they’re definitely not useless.
EDIT: Forgot to mention. Well of Blood is a much better heal for MM if you don’t plan on spending any time underwater. It heals the minions, and the previous example of Bone Minions.. Putrid Explosion is a Blast Finisher. Blast FInisher on Light fields (Well of Blood) = Retaliation for all.

We’re still actively recruiting for our competitive team within Guild Wars 2, so check us out and show us what you’re made of.
All classes are currently open for recruitment (even if you’re a dirty Mesmer) but we do prefer those who have experience with 2 or more classes in the game for adaptability.

Have you ever wanted to be a part of the gaming community that not only owns face but does it alongside friends? Have you ever wanted to be a part of something bigger than just a “Clan” or a “Guild”? If so, VexX could be just what you are looking for…a multi-gaming community with the goal of increasing our gaming skill while having fun with friends.
Mission Statement
Our goal is and always will be the focus of PvP and player progression. We strive to be one of the best and to remain at the top of the food chain in a fun and professional manner. In addition, we aim to always have a great time with people that do not care about the unwritten rules of the community. We believe in maintaining an environment that focuses on combining player excellence with a solid community. We do not settle for being average.
About Us
VexX Gaming is a gaming community that works to find like-minded players to build team of professional-level gamers. We currently have a number of divisions within our MMO branch (such as GW2 and WoW), our FPS branch (such as Firefall and Planetside 2) and our RTS branch (such as Smite and League of Legends). Currently we have a strong member base in each of these divisions.
In addition, we are currently running Competitive teams for Guild Wars 2, Firefall, Smite and League of Legends and we are always looking for “Fresh Blood” to help fill the ranks!
Structure
Our structure is pretty simple and direct, but here is a run down or the ranks.
CEO
Head and founder of VexX Gaming. He is the overall leader and has the final say in any clan related matter. He is also responsible for the focus and direction that each Division Leader takes for the game they are currently in.
Executive Officer
Helps maintain overall balance and keeps things up to date both in game and on the forums. More directly focused on game events and progression in both our MMO and FPS divisions.
MMO Director
Has direct control of operations in all MMO games VexX takes part in, making sure that all Division Leaders have all the tools to maintain a successful environment. Also responsible for helping with recruitment and overall progression.
FPS Director
Has direct control of operations in all FPS games VexX takes part in, making sure that all division leaders have all the tools to maintain a successful environment. Also responsible for helping with recruitment and overall progression.
Division Leader
Divisions Leaders are responsible for the overall command of their game. They ensure that the path is clear, and the tools are available, for any member under their leadership. They set up in-game events and keep a record (if required) of the progression of players to ensure that everyone is keeping up and on target.
Community Member
This is a full member of VexX who has proven themselves to be of value and to be a good fit with our community. They have the full right to join any game we play and are allowed to vote on new applications.
Division Member
Division Members are players who choose not to be a part of the overarching community, but play with VexX as members within a single game. They do not have any voting rights, and have more restricted access to forums. Typically division membership is the starting place for any new recruit with the option to apply to the community at any time.
Recruit
This is a player who is in the process of becoming a community member. Such a player member must prove to the current members that he/she will bring pride to the VexX name.
The Process
1. Head to http://www.vexxgaming.com and register an account.
2. Apply. There are instructions in the application forum for you to follow. Please make sure you follow them, and please spend some time on the application itself!
3. Keep up your application. You will be expected to participate with other VexX members in-game. In addition, you are expected to maintain a presence on TS3 and on the VexX forums.
4. Final decision. Based on the feedback from the current VexX members, the VexX leadership will make a final decision regarding your application.
If you have questions, feel free to post in this thread or send me a PM. You can also contact me directly in Steam (rade_harkin).
Thanks for looking us up, and best of luck to you on the application process!
- Harkin, MMO Director of VexX Gaming
So for a non hardcore player like me, without a headset – the rule would seem to be: GW2 dungeons are not designed for you.
Nobody is stopping you from joining a guild and buying a $20 headset. That’s on you. Welcome to modern gaming!
My fiancee is in a guild with a headset and she plays no more than 5 hours a week.
Sounds more like you’re just making excuses to complain?

The repair bills can be a bit high, but as you play through the dungeons and learn them you’ll die less. My last group died plenty of times against that explorable melee boss in catacombs that does the group pull + whirlwind until we learned the timing, then we plowed through him, barely being caught in the attack.
