Aboot a month ago I was talking to my buddy about him getting a precursor and decided I felt like gambling. So I went to the TP and bought 4 Rare Shields, Hammers, and Greatswords.
Threw in the shields, nothing.
Threw in the hammers, nothing.
Threw in the greatswords, BAM: Dawn.
3 tries so I guess I got lucky.
So I heard there was a new balance patch, yet many of the biggest issues in PvP were not addressed whatsoever.. again. Sure we got some fancy new heals, but we saw no changes to:
Automated Response
Fear Chain
Cleansing Ire
Healing Signet
Just to name a few.
Arguably some of the biggest problems in PvP, these seemed to go unnoticed once again. Not only was Healing Signet ignored, we actually got more Heal Signets! I don’t understand the logic behind that at all, a skill mechanic (passive healing) is obviously broken, it promotes a faceroll play style and let’s players ignore their health bars, they don’t need to heal as the game heals for them. Instead of addressing the fact that the skill mechanic is an issue, more of the same problem was added.
When will we see a balance that addresses the issues people are actually concerned about?

I don’t enjoy PvE, I shouldn’t have to play it to have an advantage in PvP. By allowing some to have the heals unlocked, while others do not, it puts these players on unequal grounds, as one has access to a skill that the other does not.
Can we just add PvE stats to PvP gear and call it WvW Arenas at this point?

It and the Masquerade set will both be available only through PvP once PvE and PvP armor is merged.
It was taken out, in pve at least not sure about pvp, but was in the game for a long time. I think Masquerade set might have been taken out of pvp as well I haven’t crafted it in a while though so I’m not sure.

Once ladders are implemented, ranks will be retired. To honor the effort that players have put into the rank system, existing players will be able to keep all unlocked rank finishers and will earn a special title based on your rank to show that you were there from the start. Variants of existing rank finishers will move to the ladder system and will be used to show your current standings on the ladder from season to season. The original finishers will not be earnable again.
I have mixed feelings about the changes, but this change is the one that infuriates me. This is essentially giving exploiters permanent rewards and making them unattainable to legitimate players.
Why should players who exploited Skyhammer get to keep their cool finishers while those of us who have been playing legitimately since the beginning never get the chance to obtain them?

Why do the skyhammer farmers get to sit at the top with their fancy emote and title while were stuck with whatever rank we can grind legitimately before the change.
Stop rewarding cheaters and exploiters, it has been happening since launch. No rollbacks for skyhammer farmers and booster exploiters, while they sit there at r60+ with 1mil+ glory and laugh.
Extremely disappointed in the second half of the post, Gear and Rank changes need to be rethought. I planned on having r60 as a long term goal, now I need to sweat about “Can I get r60 before the change? Will I finish in time even if I try?” I understand that rank was essentially devalued with hotjoin heroes and skyhammer farming but this seems a bit much.
I’d like to see glory/rank stay tied into hotjoins and a new ranking system (preferably with new GW1 similar emotes) that is tied to tournament match wins, much like how Hero Rank in GW1 was tied to HA match wins.

The universal healing skill makes me happy. FINALLY Rangers can have an active condition cure instead of all these passives. Also, I have a feeling Toxin will be across the board, in all forms. I just hope that Toxin isn’t that abundant…like maybe 1 thing that can give it for certain classes (like how Torment is).
If you get knocked out of the spring then what this removes 4 potentially devastating conditions from you and on allies right then and there so already its more powerful then the spring in a sense also what it dosent remove combo feilds can do better
Well if CC and condi is an issue for you as a ranger you should rethink your build. Ranger has some of the best passive condi removal and the most evades. Also I’d say healing spring is active condi removal considering you must activate the skill in order to proc the cleanse, that’s like saying Well of Power is passive just because of the clean on pulse mechanic. Signet of Renewal and Empathetic Bond are good examples of passive, and Sig of Renewal has an active cleanse. Either way I hope this condition and the heal are treated as racial skills, we don’t need this in pvp.

He’s not broken at all, you just need some luck and patience. Also those “Rejuvenation boosters” work and they restore quite a lot of health. Good luck trying – I like achievements which are possibly not reachable for everyone :-)
Players can participate in Belcher’s Bluff, a new and permanent omnomberry juice drinking activity where players can seek out masters around the world to learn their signature skills. Players can also challenge other players in a PvP version that can be purchased from bartenders around the world.
“Permanent” it won’t be gone in 10 days which means they’re in no hurry to fix it.
I’ve tried with boosters and the water + belch technique on his signature, this guy needs a rework.

Been at this for hours.
Even with regen buffs and max heal power this is near impossible.
He rupts almost every time, stops almost every heal, and spams his signature.
Worst design ever.
Now we can wait weeks for a fix, awesome.

- PvP…I believe Anet is focusing way too hard on PvP right now, especially when even that is dying. Yes, I understand some things need urgent nerfs and such, but don’t neglect other aspects of your game then. Also, don’t make PvE players suffer from PvP nerfs. I’m glad you’re finally realizing that there needs to be a split between balancing PvE, WvW, and PvP.

Its taken 8 months to get a simple leaderboard and now that they release it and spectator/CA they are focusing too much on PvP? PvE and WvW have gotten significantly more attention than PvP so I’m glad they are trying to show it some love. Not to mention every month being “ok this month is big PvP patch” only to be let down again and again.
D/P Backstab burst? I havent used haste on a teef since PW back in like October.
