amazing difference. really changes the experience. awesome job!
support this. i also pitched this idea a month ago- https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Allow-us-to-wear-previously-equipped-styles
i really hope this goes through, the more people asking for this the better. i’d probably play this game non stop if this was possible.
Obviously you haven’t played the higher end dungeons where the closest waypoint is ridiculously placed 50 seconds apart w/o speed buff. Also, with dungeons that already work a player through sweat and dirt, walking an extra mile more than a few times is absurdly stupid, especially for a purely damage-built character.
yeah, I’d love to see the OP do subject alpha last stage after his suggestion made it live.
he also doesn’t seem to know that once enough players die at once the boss resets because he loses aggro.
I much rather lose over and over
with that change you will. wanna bet how fast you’ll be back here asking to roll it back?
I have played several games where bosses are almost impossible to beat. I’ve played 3 hours on a single boss before (if not more) several times. I’ve gotten annoyed out of my mind, but the feeling of accomplishment you get from defeating these bosses is just that much more rewarding. I’d rather have that, than being handed the victory on a silver platter. I play for a challenge, not to be given a participation medal.
Adding this would be great: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Allow-us-to-wear-previously-equipped-styles/first#post168176
As for the rest, I have faith that the devs know what they are doing.
Twiddlesticks, I couldn’t agree more. I was very disappointed to see this was possible. It feels like a cheap tactic- luckily enough I have only encountered this in AC story. But yes, it is a sad excuse for a fight. I much rather lose over and over than win with the use of running back. It removes all sense of fun and challenge.
EDIT: I’d like to add- maybe not lock waypoints, but seal down the boss room somehow. This would allow the players to go and fix themselves if they don’t want to stick around and watch the fight unfold.

The reason the system is the way it is now is because they need to make money. There is no monthly subscription fee. It has to be this way or the game will make no money, and henceforth shut down.
I asked for a stone to give us the look of other gear archetypes (medium can use graphics fom light or heavy etc…) and I would be willing to pay for it. That is a much more realistic request because it makes them money, where as your request loses them money.
So with that being said, I think your suggestion will not happen to be honest.

PS
You can buy more bank slots with gems. You know, to keep all those extra cosmetic gear slots you got laying around. Oh wait… that makes them money also… See a pattern here?
I’m not saying you are wrong (because I don’t know myself) but I believe that they’d gain money from this system. Currently, I only have motivation to get one style. Sure, it’s a long grind, but after I get the style I want, what is pushing me to get another one? Why should I get another dungeon set if I got the best dungeon set out there?
This could be remedied by making me able to wear several sets (that I earn) whenever I wish. Not only that, but they’d be able to sell gearsets on the Gem store for cash. They could as well limit the amount of styles you can carry- if you want more styles, pay up.
For the love of all that is good in the land, plz shut up vendors!

I’d like to add a suggestion, as I believe the issue is that whenever a vendor near a crafting station is being talked to (by anyone), they will be prompted to speak. If this speech was instanced to the player that is talking to the npc, then I believe it would be easier to live with them.
I think having more weapon skills to be able to chose from would be a great idea. You could choose which skills you could take based on your weapon choice (currently you are given a set 2-3-5 skills, you could chose what these skills would be based on a given list)
It’s the consequence of death- if you don’t want to have a big repair bill, get better at dodging or get a better understanding of your class. To be honest, I find that death isn’t consequential enough- people jump into frays in WvW without care.
Well if they could include what drizel is suggesting, then i believe that would make it good for everyone- wouldnt let you change gear all the time, but when you have the required stones, you could swap. Transmutation stones would become a kind of currency for switching styles (that you’ve unlocked, of course)
Sorry, but no. There are plenty of “designs” where you can only get in specific places/vendors, like dungeons or with karma. It’s pretty easy to get the best gear, everything after that is just purely cosmetic. Your suggestion would make it stupidly easier to get any cool design whatsoever, instead of having to actually work for it.
You’d still have to purchase said items to get the ability to sample it.
I agree that I’d like to see larger dungeons (more than 5 people) as it would make guilds seem more viable and useful. Bosses would have to be engaging though- no tank and spank, as it would be too easy. (someone dies? one of the 24 people can rez him while the rest keep killing the boss)
Right now the issue I have with open world bosses are that they don’t seem to scale properly with the groups- a big group can have no issue destroying these guys. Not only that, but if someone dies, a spawnpoint is usually right around the corner, allowing him to rejoin the fight. I’d like to see barriers go up after a boss is engaged, preventing more people to hop in, so wipes are actually possible. This also applies to dungeons (I’m looking at you, King Adelbern from Ascalonian Catacombs). Dying doesn’t seem as vital when the consequences are just a slightly bigger repair bill. Having to restart (or in the case of open world bosses, failing the event) is a lot more severe.
I agree- I submitted this as an idea to bypass this issue.
Since all the endgame gear is going to be the same stat-wise, there should be a way to get several different styles on your current armor without losing that style. If I want 2 end-game level sets with different styles, I’d have to farm 2 sets of end game gear to apply those styles. I find that kind of limiting- once you have a style, you’re not going to want to change it as it was hard earned, and changing it would cause you to lose it forever.
The thing I have against the stones is that if you want to have 3 different styles, you have to keep those pieces of gear somewhere to transmute later. That would be 12 slots of inventory space (2 * 6 slots, minus what you are wearing) just to keep a style around.

First off, I’d like to say great job with this amazing game.
As for this idea, I think it’d be great if you’d be able to collect styles from previously equipped items, and then be able to switch back to that style whenever you’d want. For example, let’s say I were to purchase a cultural armor chest- as soon as I equip it, that “chest style” is added to my hero’s styles. If I were to equip another chest (from crafting, for example), I could then freely switch between the two styles.
Not only will this give players more customizability, but it will give them so many new things to strive for, as well as reasons to explore dungeons they’d otherwise skip over. It’d also give the player a new choice when it comes to loot: “should I sell it on the Trading Post or equip it to gain the style?” as well as fluctuate the economy; rare style items (no matter how bad the actual item is) will go for a lot more money, giving items a new sense of value. Traveling half way across Tyria to get a single level 5 item will not be unheard of.
However, this would make transmutation stones redundant and useless- but I think that someone who wants to show off both their level 400 crafted gearset as well as their cultural armor should be able to do so.
I got this idea from DC Universe Online, which pulled it off tremendously well and made customizing your character a thing of beauty.
Let me know what you think when you’ve finally gotten the chance to read this!
