Hey there,

I just started back as well after stopping roughly 4-5 months after release. I can report back to you saying very little in the game has changed, and whatever caused you to originally quit would still be its valid as ever.

PvP is still just conquest, and the only major differences I have noticed are better rewards through “PvP reward tracks” and one or two new maps. Compared to Guild Wars 1, and frankly most any other MMO on the market, PvP and its’ support from the devs is quite lackluster. That’s not to say the actual PvP isn’t fun, it really is, but the lack of variation of gamemodes and maps really ruins it.

WvW is essentially the same too. The largest difference is Edge of the Mists which is a floating archipelago roughly the size of a single ordinary WvW map. It functions much like ordinary WvW, however it is on a 4 hour timer as opposed to the normal one week length. They also added a trait-like addition where you gain skills in particular areas of WvW.

PvE is virtually the same (notice the pattern?). No new dungeons have been added apart from temporary ones in the episodic living story. The major source of new PvE content are the living story episodes, which are released fortnightly and only offer 2-3 hours of straight content (which is free though, mind you). The only long term content these episodes give is the grind for new skins.

However, the seemingly majority of new skins added to the game are only attainable from the gem store. From my perspective, it seems like most of the new character customisation content has come from there.

Also no new skills (apart from some healing slot ones) have been added to the game. No new professions, races and very little traits (if any) have been added as well.

Compared to this game, the one you have ome from has released orders of magnitudes more content in the past two years (two expansions and all the tier updates within them). If you got bored with WoW, you will undoubtedly get bored with this sooner.

Also to answer your original question, the player base is still quite active and you won’t have a problem finding people to play with ;) .

Yep, I can’t even queue up for a match other than Practice Arena.

If I click either unranked or ranked I just hear the click noise and then nothing happens…After 20-30 seconds a pop-up then displays with the error shown in the attached file.

And does Arenat sell this game into Asian countries? I thought I had read that they didn’t, but I have no source for it.

In my guild on SoS we have people from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and more.

So yeah, the game is somehow available in those regions although I do not think they are officially supported…which makes sense why they aren’t catering to them.

The jumping puzzle was surprisingly easy. I hadn’t played the game in a week and came on to check this tower out. Took me about an hour and a half to beat it then I beat straight after a second time. Took another 5 tries after that to beat it the third and final time.

With that said it would be nearly impossible if you had some physical disabilities.

EDIT: I am a Human made it easier.

Just for additional info, I certainly don’t blame the Oceanic players of SoS, when we had you last week it was boring but there really wasn’t anything you could do about your timezone so we accepted it and did crap like Ramalot to amuse ourselves.

But the NA guys that have transferred to your server have quite literally ruined this week of W3 for both us and Dragonbrand, for their own selfish reasons, and that is what is unacceptable to the majority of us. Sure you might be getting a new server, but you will be ruining t4, t3 and t2 on your way up the the top with your endless 50+ zerg. Do us all a favour and at least give Dragonbrand and Magumma one borderland to have fun in where we won’t immediately be steamrolled for 4/1 odds in every engagement.

I know it is frustrating, but look at it this way: The more points we accumulate, the faster to the top we go and the further away from you we are.

I know you’re braindead, but look at it this way: Your selfishness and naïveté is ruining the game for the other servers. You could go join one of the other servers this week and have a lot of fun (holy crap everyone talks about how fun Maguuma is; join us and actually find out!), but instead you would rather just zerg zerg zerg to make sure your numbers get maximized as fast as possible.

After two weeks of this crap, a lot of the regulars at Maguuma are still running strong, but I can feel our population thinning out now because none of the pubbies are playing. Instead of holding near our tier now, we’re probably going to have to spend even more time in downward flux due to the population dynamic changes. It turns out that a lot of people don’t like waiting two weeks for “Rankings to Stabilize” when they are never going to stabilize thanks to people like you.

To be honest, you probably don’t want to rocket up as fast as possible. Your oceanic team has no coordination and you’re going to get stomped in Tier 2 and likely cry a lot and transfer to another server.

Very disappointing that you had to resort to insults. I was trying to be nice fyi. I know what I said seemed naive, but what else am I supposed to say? I’m not moving, and no one else is until things turn to kitten.

On that note, I have been on SoS since BW1. I have not won a single one week match. So no, I will not be moving when we once again lose.

Jedahs from Sea of Sorrows hands down. From the beginning, if Jedahs was on your map you knew it would be predominantly [SoS’s colour] within an hour or two.

Initiative to start communication between guilds of different time zones would be great. Seeing as these guilds wouldn’t really see each other, times would need to be setup up for discussion and strategizing.

I have only done 25% of the map but I love the Harathi Hinterlands. I just love its atmosphere.

I also like Frostgorge and Plains of Ashford.

…In fact, they are all good :P (the ones I have been to so far).

I crash quite frequently, mainly during WvW (but also outside). I am wondering if there are any tips and tricks to help prevent this.

Also, I have the latest drivers for everything.

I don’t want everyone in my guild to move to another game but this is gonna happen if you don’t somehow limit night capping , and is not just “my guild” case .
You are not giving the same opportunity to be part of the “war” to everyone , you are giving free wins to people playing at night ,and i imagine them to be way less then day-time players, and this discourages people to play WvW , to invest golds in upgrades , to enjoy this part of the game , try to realize it ASAP .

So they should limit NA as well? Because, you know….you’re night capping us.

Yeah you guys did suprisingly well o.o. We were surprised by the amount of players you had. At like, 8pm our time you guys still managed to pull together a 40+ man zerg.

The main difference between GW and GW2 in terms of sPvP is the amount of content. In GW you had HoH, GvG, arenas, FA/JQ.

In Guild Wars 2 you just have one game mode split into tournaments and browser PvP….

They also need a ranking system

However, I thoroughly enjoy the PvP we have. It is amazing and there is no question about its quality. Just funnily enough they need to boost the quantity (or expand).

I took a screenshot of Xal attempting to make the legendary Bifrost. He obviously couldn’t as post patch and pre patch obsidian shards don’t stack.

It is possible to get the monthly achievement, however you must stay in the same zone to get it

If Kormir is going to be any of the dragons it would be the DSD.

Kormir is the God of Secrets and her element is water, both aspects of the DSD.

From what I have seen is it is entirely random. You have been quite unfortunate but there is a workaround.

Move to the other server (free at the moment), play WvW, get the POI’s and then transfer back.

Be prepared for a queue though, as most servers who do well in WvW are quite popular.

Bugged out for you. You’re meant to get two legendary crafting materials (something of exploration?) and a title.

Assuming that the recipe is as the OP says it is and there’s no easier way to get these clovers, Im all for a change to them.

GW2 is supposedly to be all about breaking out of the traditional MMO mold. Boring long winded repetitive mindless grinds to get a little shiny item that does little to nothing for you isnt the impression I had of GW2 when I heard of it or watched videos about it.

A month and a half for a hardcore gamer, or 6-12 months for a casual gamer for a single shiny item is a bit ridiculous.

Making items insane to get makes the game far less appealing for a casual game player. I’m not saying it should be spoon-fed easy, but that it should be reasonably obtainable. Lets remember we are talking about a single item here. There are several types of weapons and some/many people like/enjoy playing multiple toons (all the way into the meta game). Legendary weapons as they seem to stand arent an option for most people ~ regardless of how long they play or how `loyal` they are, and that detracts from the game only to fuel the ego’s of the overly hardcore elitist players.

I don’t understand why making a handful of weapons out of hundreds (potentially thousands) extremely difficult to get is an issue. Especially since they give no added stat bonus.

6 Months too long for you? Don’t want to spend the time getting them? Then don’t.

At least your character won’t be any worse for choosing not to.

There is item scaling. However, they have made it so that lower level items can still drop for you in order to get lower level crafting materials.
