I’m rooting for Tengu, I always wanted to play a tengu in GW1.
The excessive messaging thing, before someone pointed me towards gw2lfg.
P/v/t gear seems to work well for my Guardian so far, also using knights accesoires. Though I never used berserker gear so I can’t really tell if theres a huge difference.
I can’t wait for a “Matrix” esque console :P
Theres a thread dedicated to listing the things you miss about GW1 here is the link:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/What-GW1-feature-would-you-bring-to-GW2/first#post2136522
The lack of diversity in skills and the pathetic cooldowns that come with their use.
Amazed no one has said this yet: spectator mode when you’re dead.
That feature saw so many good uses… Teaching people how to do certain things, skill rotations, etc. Not being bored to death when you get defeated and your party is stuck in combat for a couple of minutes etc…
That and UW/FoW as a proper elite area with some decent rewards would be a nice change.
I completely forgot about that! Yeah spectator mode was pretty nice to have.
It would be easier to say what GW2 feature I would bring to GW, and that feature would be jumping.
Granted it would be easier to say that but I would like to see some GW1 features go away first.
No heroes/henchies.
No PVE only skills.
I think its safe to say that the 2 listed above pretty much killed off a large part of the social aspect of gw1.
No grind this amount of title before you can proceed.
No titles that give you an edge in PVE content.
No useless skills (as in the skill can be used ,but there are better versions available that kitten your build less)
Though I liked the cross proffesion system a lot, I would like to see a better dedicated to a single proffesion system instead.
GW2 thankfully removed a lot of these gripes, but brought issues of its own for me. But instead I’ll just say what I wish it still had from GW1.
The skill diversity (not the same exact skills save for a token few, but the option to do your own unique thing)
Skill quality (I cant stand skills that do something for 3 seconds with cooldowns hitting up to 1 minute or more)
Skillbar customisation (you could change the order of your skills to the one you prefer and decide wether you wanted to use a elite skill or not)
Team synergy as in real synergy not just spamming boons and hope for the best.
Example: Mesmer dedicates to shutting down mage class enemies, so the warriors/eles/etc can mop them up. Rangers utilising spirits to turn hostile enviromental damage into a different element, so the elementalist can cast a superior defensive ward against that type of element or simply deal more damage with their spells that were previously at a disadvantage. To name a few.
The superior UI (you could pretty much customise EVERYTHING the way you wanted it to)
Missions ( I probably miss these the most, theres barely a reason to group up in gw2 except for dungeons. You can solo the rest of the content, except for group events. But everyone just meets up there and dissolves after the event. I loved interacting with other players in missions, actually saving them from a tough situation or the other way around. )
Armor variety (Not just I’ll just pull this human armor over my charr and hope it works)
Enemies (at the end of the game some enemies had pretty balanced fighting groups and were pretty strong if you underestimated them. Bossfights were more engaging for me, but thats probably just because I hate 1shot mechanics. Regardless the bosses werent much alone, but in a group they could make a huge difference.)
Skillhunting (It was so much fun hunting for elite skills in all the parts of the world. Actually giving a reason to explore the nooks and crannies of the world, other than just for the sake of exploring .)
Its a kitten shame that I’m missing so much from its previous installment. I can barely have fun playing this game.

We’re aware of this bug and I’ve personally already seen to its fix. He was/is indeed attacking with a 240-280 degree arch from his front, so for the time being you will have to get directly behind him to avoid being hit by the screech. This will be fixed!
Even with the large aoe its still doable, I would suggest making the aoe a little smaller so it cant reach behind him and adjusting the animation for its size. Hes definetly a good learning boss.
I whent a step further and bought it for a friend, he got to level 34 before he got bored and quit. We both played GW1 for years and now we’re done with this game within a few days. Sure I whent on alone, hit 80 got exotic gear and quit. The only thing GW2 makes me feel now is nostalgia for GW1.
Or they could make fighting those mobs rewarding.
Steps in water AAARGH IT BURNS, I avoid water like the plague in this game.
I haven’t done Arah yet, but ironically the toughest dungeon I ever completed in this game was AC story.
It was a mess of dying over and over and over, due to the mix of inexperienced players running the dungeon and the fact that most of the bosses one shot you with their special moves.
This does not encourage people to attempt other dungeons. AC explorable, for instance, is easier than story mode if you do path 1 and 2
I had that with SE story yesterday, mind you I was already in max gear and level 80 when I tried it (I farmed AC till level 80 from 35). God how I hated that constant boss fest where mobs throw you around like a ragdoll and then proceed to one hit you (seriously why give bossmobs a million hp and CC AND ONE HITS). Then did SE explorable path 3 and it was a breeze.
I too am disappointed with the lack of variety for skills and builds. I loved making builds in GW 1, the amount of customisation you could do was nothing short of epic. I don’t like how they brought it down to roll at the right moment or die regardless of class or build. Did your combo? Used your heal and utility skills? Enemies only at 2/3 of their health? Theres no choice but to bail out and run leaving your team to fend for themselves. One shot kills never impressed me in anyway, and they will never feel anything but cheap. I do not like to see how every enemy you encounter in a dungeon will brutally violate your character, reminding you how weak you really are and there is nothing you can do about it. Can’t change build, can’t rely on skills with insane cooldowns. Offcourse I understand they wanted to get rid of the holy trinity, but is that worth killing off all those customisation options?
I’ve had people in my groups experience the same thing getting 8 or 15 tokens instead of 60 for their daily.
Yes I need to rebuild my Jungle Troll collection.
Smells like a dead server.
Error Code 42:6:3:2060 here aswell.
I got kicked off and get the same message, the login server is probably offline.
Can’t enter Ascalonian Catacombs.
It should give the option to replay story or enter explorable. It only gives explorable and when selected nothing happens.
1 out of 100 times I get the right message and I can enter, but my party can’t or gets seperate instances.
