Jumping Puzzle Feedback [Merged]

I came back…just to say…I’ve made it!!!!

Spent about 3hrs on the first day, 3 hrs the day before, and 1hr yesterday which finally, successfully jumped into the box!!!!

Such joy!!!!

By the way, it seems to me that the ‘difficulty’ may also be down to pc specification and lag.

- Some may feel that it melts fast because their pc have rendered slower
- On occasion, I have started jumping but I’ve seen some others still at the start point waiting, almost 3 flakes away before they start.
- Lag sometimes helps and sometimes is bad, it depends when it got connectivity.

I’m not good at JP, I did not complete MKCT. I run GW2 on a notebook, with notebook graphics. If you need any advise from the average joe, like me, just drop me a message.

So those that are still trying, there’s hope.

I would like to make some constructive comments here.

Firstly, I love jumping puzzle, be it timed or not. For your info, I failed at Mad King Clock Tower, played till the very last minute. Didn’t even got close to the end point.

This one, I was just a few inches away. Yet, to complete still. Yes, it is simpler than clock tower and I am truly grateful that devs are listening.

1. 3 Platforms idea was brilliant. We have less players blocking each others view. +1

2. Timings I feel is just right.

3. A lot of better coordinated players, are complaining that it is too easy.
May I suggest that completed players be automatically “upgraded” to a higher difficulty upon every completion of the course?

a) This will also allow other players to have a chance to practice without them completing the whole course all over and over and over again.

b) This will minimise the “waiting” time for other beginner/practicing players.

c) This also solves the issue of players complaining that it is too easy. The higher the difficulty, the better the loot. That will be the carrot for them repeating it.

4. The observation tower is great, at least we can see other player’s progress and cheer them on. (Although, they will be too busy to notice)

Thanks!

and Happy Holiday!

Just to let you know…you are not alone.

I’m also having a pvp-phobia. I hate to be killed by another player. I just hate losing, hence, I stay away from it. I don’t want to get frustrated over it. Furthermore, I play GW2 without a mouse (just using a touchpad), which is a very big disadvantage. Why play knowing that I definitely will be killed?

However, I’ve recently started playing WvW. I find it less intimidating. Maybe because I’m always at the back of the pack, spamming AoEs. I do get a bit more support from other team players. I still die, but I die lesser. Probably is because it is slightly different game-play.

I think once you are used to being killed…you will soon be ok for pvp. (and skilled enough not to be killed)

Mad King Says, missing something from GW1

Loved it and got the hat.

After reading this, I realised that I didn’t miss much not having to repeat it (due to countless of hours into clock tower.

However, the first time I’ve tried it, I missed the first command and I was sent straight into the pot. Was that part of the design.

2nd try, I managed to get all of them right except 2. One of which is saying YES, and the other one is a bug. He did not say Mad King say…I did not do anything, yet was hit down to 1% health.

Any way, good work.

I would like to see some changes to timed jumping quests in the future…esp those in groups.

Please disable all skill, stops people from spawning elementals, it’s already packed full of people.

Change all the armor/clothes to something standard (like swimwear for diving), that’ll make it easier for all of us.

Alternatively, make others transparent/water like effect. So they wont obscure our view. I’ve seen nasty remarks made to norns due to their size.

Challenge difficulty to remain as it is.

Suggestions is only for timed jumping group quest.

(btw, anyway to keep this available even after Halloween? I’m driven by achievements. I don’t care about the loot. I like to try them till I succeed, even if that means I have to somehow use a mouse)

I love the challenge, yet I hate it being as an achievement.

I think the downfall is, I play GW2 without mouse, just the track pad on my notebook.
I know that using mouse to play is a lot easier and to see and look around.

I can do pretty much without the mouse in other stuff.

But I guess that as long as it is a timed-jumping quest, it might be something that I will not be able to do it.

I still love the challenge and I think it is beautifully made; without a mouse…there’s no way I could achieve and enjoy it. I’ve only managed a 25-30% of it. Turning left is too slow.

Exotics, y u no drop?

I have a few exotics I believe. I never really pay attention to the items I have. I don’t have much MF, maybe just 2% from amulets. I’m not sure where I got them either. Out of those few only 1 can be used.

The only one I can remember is yesterday while playing Mad King. Played about less than 10 times, and I’ve got 1 exotic. But of course, can’t use it on my ele.

I think plainly luck perhaps.

4hrs wasted -- giving up on clock tower "puzzle"

Just curious…anyone completed the jump without having to use the mouse?

I’m playing this game on my notebook with a touch pad, viewing around is already tough enough; having a timed jumping quest seems very difficult.

Next gw2 Expansion Class?

Something that can fly. Of course, time limited though with cool downs.
Existing race/class can equip ‘air’ gear, to get the ‘flight’ ability.
Henceforth, new ‘air’ traits/skills.

Hence, you’ll have all land, sea and air attacks.

Dragon, dracula, vampires.

Thinking out of the box. Feasible or not, very subjective. Just a thought.

I think you have just shot yourself in the foot.

If re-installing resolves your issue, it just goes to show that it is YOUR computer that is messed up. Don’t expect someone else to clean up your problems.

Clearly, they can’t and they won’t.

I’ll just also state here that I uses both IE and Chrome and it is working for me.

I…

- hate chatting with people, I’m anti social
- hate playing in party, because I’m anti social, leave me alone
- hate joining a guild, because I hate to contribute and the reasons above
- hate PvE, because I’ve seen all the mobs
- hate Vistas, because I’ve been to all the places
- hate POI, because I’m tired of the “interest”
- hate PvP, because I suck at this game and hate to lose to another player
- hate WvW, because it’s just a mass orgy
- hate dungeons, because I’m claustophobic
- hate cooking because I’m not a chef
- hate tailoring, because I’m not Zegna
- hate jewelry, because I’m not Tiffany&Co.
- hate the rest of the crafting, because I hate to collect
- hate swimming, because I don’t like to get my clothes wet
- hate jumping of cliffs, because I’m afraid of heights
- hate snowballs fights, because I’m afraid of the cold
- hate dancing, because my prom nite was a disaster
- hate logging in because I have to click the login button
- hate playing game, because it makes me look childish

….Nope! this is not who I am.

So what is there not to do in this game?

Basically, yes.

I think there’s no debate there. Loads of people, lots of different time zone, pple playing at different time.

Whatever time they’ve decided on, they probably have picked a time which affects the least people.

It is perhaps, unfortunate, for you.

And yes, it will mean that you just have to make time for it.

BSOD's

Hi,

I don’t have the same issue as you, but I had BSOD on another game. Same issue as you, cpu runs very hot. I’m having a NVidia card not same as yours though.

Eventually, I did found out what went wrong. I upgraded my card drivers to the latest drivers and as long as I ran something graphic intensive, I am prone to have BSOD. I was expecting better performance from a new driver, but it caused me more headaches.

I downgraded my drivers to the originally installed, and the game ran perfectly without issues.

Hope you solve your problem.

GW2 launched to soon and to buggy.

I don’t blame you.

But I think you shouldn’t jump into conclusion that it is the game that is buggy.

What people these days don’t realise is that any software needs to talk to the hardware. Apparently, most people thinks that it’s easy and it should work. The problem is that there are hundreds of hardware combination that a user could have. How can you develop a software that is bug-free for all?

Furthermore, other bugs such as BSOD can be caused by software in your computer apart from the game. Not to mention, virus, trojans and all sort of junk software that has been installed before.

I ran GW2 without any problems and had a smooth experience. Fortunately

In another game I’ve played recently, I had BSOD and I was so ready to blame it on the game. But after much trial and error, it boils down to my graphic card drivers. I was using the latest version of the driver, and it always BSOD if I ran something graphic intensive. Not to mention that the card was on the supported list.

So, as a general rule, which may also apply in real life, before you start pointing faults, step back and check that you have sufficient assessed if you did anything wrong.

The mentality of “I paid $60 and it must work”, wont get you far in real life either.
