Some clarification on a bit of confusion I saw:

  • When a dolyak reaches its destination it contributes to the upgrades of both the objective it is reaching and the camp it started at.
  • Rally order is closest-first. Combined with the rally limit of one this means that only the nearest downed player will rally off an enemy death.
  • Resurrecting the dead cannot be started in combat, but entering combat while already resurrecting someone will not force you to stop.

I still say 1 rally is too big of a nerf. Rally to 3 and I’m satisfied.

My guild and I actually try to keep eotm relatively fun. Ktraining is boring and gets me sleepy very fast. I find it more enjoyable to zerg fight and cap at the same time. My four objectives while commanding in eotm:

1. Loot / Bags.
2. Raise personal achievement: Ultimate Dominator.
3. Raise WvW Rank Points / Heroic Points while capping.
4. Help uplevels level up.

I believe some commanders avoid fights for a few reasons:

1. Does not yet grasp the concept of ZvZ but will eventually want to later.
2. Just wants to cap as fast as possible for karma / champ bags.
3. Avoid conflict because they’ve already lost a few fights.
4. Other.

If you’re in a map with me, I’ll more than likely derail that Ktrain because, to me, like exercise, it releases a protein called BDNF aka Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor which transcribes to my happiness. That’s what keeps me playing this game.

In my opinion, nerfing 5 rally to 1 rally is pointless. If I can only get 1 rally off you might as well disable rally altogether. That’s such a HUGGGEEEE nerf considering as a commander you’re in the frontline and you’re going to need the support of the rest of your group composition to down and break enemy lines while you barrage through. Those multiple rallies are important for commanders to tag, bag, and rally off of if he gets downed.

I would rather see a 5 to 3 nerf AT THE MOST. Seeing that we can only rally once AND if we’re full dead, we can’t get power rezzed I’m sorry to say this but we’ll be seeing a TON more P-O-O-S-Y plays coming from all sides.

What I can see happening is this:

- Commander calls for a stack and push.
- Commander pushes but rallies once and dies. Cannot power rezz.
- No commander to hold zerg together. Zerg dispatches.

or

-Commander calls for a stack and push.
-Commander doesn’t push but stays in the backline for fear of death.
-Rallies once and decides to run back to wait for death decay to be removed and re-engage.

or

-Commander calls for stack and push.
-Enemy commander rallies once and dies.
-Fight dissolves pretty fast.

I have over 30 million karma in which I’ve never had to karma farm.

I have over 2k gold in inventory in which I’ve never had to farm for gold and I have all my Legendaries that I wanted.

I have 7800 Badges of Honor remaining after buying my HP scrolls from initial 15k pool.

My primary game mode is WvW / EoTM. Some people even say that I live in wvw.

I have over 2k Proofs of Heroics and all the sieges I need currently. If I buy more siege from the Notary NPC my badges will deplete very rapidly. There isn’t an equilibrium in badge drop rate versus proof of heroic drop rate. If badges were more and proofs were less then it works, but right now there’s a massive influx of Proofs that I need to get rid of. One or more things need to happen:

1. Increase Badges of Honor drop rate and keep Proof of Heroic drop rate the same.
2. Decrease Proof of Heroic drop rate while maintaining Badges of Honor drop rate.
3. Add new vendor items to help deplete Proofs of Heroics (gold + Proofs vs badges + Proofs)
4. Lowering the cost of Badges requirement per purchase in current vendor list.
5. Make Proof of Heroics either soul-bound currency (much like individual Hero Points only tied to character) or account-bound currency.
6. I might have missed something.
7. I think I also might have missed another point.
8. Anet needs to fix it.

Golems unusable - Travel Runes don't work

Traveler’s rune stopped working in a few other areas of the game as well. Any transformation (polymorph, tonic, power suit, golem, assault roller, scorpion, etc.) will not have movement speed buff affecting since it’s probably coded that no passive boons shall be permitted while inside a transformation.

I actually agree to this as well. As a form of currency this area of the game, Badges of Honor has produced the fewest in my book.

More and more items have been introduced to WvW and uses BoH as an alternative means of gold for those, like us, primarily plays in World vs World. I can generate gold that much more faster than Badges in an hour without even trying.

I believe a few months ago they nerfed badge drop rates from player kills, supervisors, Lords (Tower, Keep, Castle), etc.

With the introduction of the Heroics Notary NPC, once you’ve actually acquired your PvE Hero Points and you’re left with thousands of Proofs of Heroics, the only sink for the Proofs are used to buy sieges with Badges of Honor. One superior Shield Generator Blueprint costs 48, yes 48, Badges of Honor. Superior Treb costs 60 badges, wow, SIXTY! There’s no way I can acquire that much badges to match my Proofs of Heroics flow. IMPOSSIBLE.

Edge of the mists player numbers and matchup

I’m pretty sure this a map-up is of EU servers. While true in a sense it’s not always the case.

For the past couple of weeks my server has had the pleasure of being Badlands (red) which supposedly has the lowest number of players based on EoTM server matchup, next to Frostreach (blue), and lastly highest numbers at Overgrowth (green). In my opinion, two things matter in every match: (1) Numbers in your combined servers and (2) Capabilities of each player / server.

Numbers do matter but more than than the driver that brings everyone together has the most impact. If there isn’t a commander, people will either leave that instance for another instance or do something else in game (PvE, PvP, WvW, AFK, Chat, etc.) And when there’s a good commander running, people tend to flock to him / her.

I, myself, am a commander specifically in eotm. I’ve had the pleasure of outnumbering OG and FR at all hours of the day for a few weeks now. I’m not sure why OG players believe they always have the upper hand but I love crushing that mentality. I actually believe BL has the best offense capabilities and FR coming in with the best defensive capabilities leaving OG with merely scouting capabilities which does no good if you don’t know how to use it.

I do also agree that the matchup needs to have more variable both in WvW and EoTM, though. I believe Anet said they are working on a new match-making system. Good luck out there!

XP (not WxP) gained in WvW doesn’t do anything or go toward anything

This. With the experience split between PvE and WvW the experience from mobs, rezzing players, repairing, etc. doesn’t count towards WvW rank tracks nor does it go towards PvE core / HoT masteries.

@Nate: Yeah I’ve noticed that as well. It’s only used as a sink. I would not even think about using my proof of heroics until I can fully obtain all my Hero Challenge in HoT and even then I’d hold onto my Proofs just in case of new content.

@Fellfoot: Hehehe. I was looking through my list as well and I saw you on there! I’ve checked out the area and I don’t think I see a merchant / NPC that lets me build my own sieges atm.

@Catalin: I actually do that at the moment. I also use Scroll Keys and just move my mouse and not have to use my mouse click to click and just rapidly press my + button for quick click. I can get 100 stacks pretty fast just it is a hassle.

@Downwood: I know. I’m just saying it would be beneficial to add it as a “craft-able” recipe in the Scribe schematics since Scribes now craft WvW-related things for their guild anyways whether automatic, a dropped recipe, or even discover-able.

I’m primarily a solo player playing in WvW and I frequently command on my own especially EotM which I have to buy / build my own superior sieges. My questions are as followed:

1. Buying Siege Masters Guide: Previously, I could purchase as much as I like without a confirmation window. Now I’m forced to confirm if I really want to buy the Siege Masters Guide. It’s been like this for a while now and I absolutely HATE it. Will there be a change again to where I can just buy without confirmation?

2. If NO to the first question, will there be a new option to buy in bulk such as 10xPhilosopher’s Stones, 5xMystic Cryatals, etc.?

3. If NO to this question then the Developers really are not focusing on WvW content.

4. Will superior siege be craftable one day? There is now the Scribe Crafting Discipline. Forging is so stupid.

5. I used to be able to build my own Guild Sieges pre HoT. Again, I’m a solo player. I don’t own a Guild Hall nor do I have any players in my SOLO guild. Am I just SoL?

Collaborative Development: Commander System

I rarely hit up the forums and/or post about things but this topic has piqued my interest. I’ve skimmed through some of the comments and I’d say there are quite a few ideas that I do like but currently I do feel that everyone speaking forth is primarily worried about WvW.

Sadly to say though, I do wish that the community does not push to separate PvE and WvW commanders and it’s ability entirely. As far as I can recall, there is a level of fairness that Anet provides even if we don’t agree. I, for one, have the commander’s seal and I don’t play a part in any guild. I’d like to remain transparent until needed if that makes sense. I understand that a tree of skills may be obtained for guild but it should not affect or exceed global commander abilities.

A few of my suggestions include:

1- Commander’s Icon – The community had stated that they wish to see multi-colored icons. I would second this as well but with each different colors it would include the range in which players would be able to see the icon. For instance, if I’m a squad leader for a recon group, I’d only like to see 5-10 people max following me and not distract from the main zerg. The visibility would be minimal and promotes a chain of command. If I’m a defending commander, the visibility range for my icon would be increased due to the fact that I need to protect viable camps and towers. And then of course, full map visibility for main zerg for general purposes. (SHORT TERM GOAL)

2- Commander User Interface – As of currently, purchasing a commander’s seal is just a shiny blue dorito above your head. Once a commander’s seal has be bought, a new UI should appear in a separate tab in the Character screen with skill selections. (LONG TERM GOAL)

3- Commander Abilities- A commander’s ability should be limited. Give a person too much power and they’ll wreck havock on themselves and those around them. Any ability given should be learned through the new UI. Since PvE and WvW both uses the same leveling system and both can obtain Skill Points I would suggest using that to obtain commander abilities. Here might be some useful abilties:

  1. Commander’s Might – Gain +5 to all stats. Personal. 100 SP.
  2. Commander’s Presence – Those in squad will gain +250 vitality. Passive. Does not include commander. 100 SP.
  3. Commander’s Shield – Those in squad will gain -3% incoming damage. Passive. Does not include commander. 100 SP.
  4. Supply Info – Increased supply info range. 100 SP.
  5. Squad Limit – Increase the limit of squads by 50. 100 SP.
  6. Commander Icon – Upgrade that lets a user chooses different icons. 100 SP.

Please do note that only Presence or Shield could be active at a given time. Because of these passive abilities more players will be willing to join a squad for perks. These abilities would be viable both in PvE and WvW. I’m pretty sure I could come up with more if I thought about it. The reason why I would stake each ability at 100 points is the fact that you’re going to have to grind for them. (LONG TERM GOAL)

4- Map chat – Honestly, I believe only commanders should be allowed to use the TEAM chat in PvE, PvP, and WvW to reduce confusion. This would emphasis that a commander(s) is speaking map-wide to either issue orders and/or relay information. The squad chat command would then ideal have no suppression limits as he or she will be most likely to be communicating mainly through that channel. Realistically speaking, having an ability with ON-SCREEN text such as the Scarlet Invasion is way out of our leagues. An ability such as that is equivalent to that of a GM’s. However, if you wish to implement such a feature, I can only see it as being a GEM store item. At cost, 800 gems to purchase (1) ONE ticket that gives you a new command to do on screen text that lasts for 30 minutes. Granted, this command can only be used by anyone that have purchased the commander’s seal with or without them actually needing to have their commander’s icon on. (SHORT TERM GOAL)

5- Guild Commanders – I do like this idea but I don’t want it to intefere with other guilds / world commanders. People have stated that it could be a new addition to the Art of War trait lines and I would agree. A guild could upgrade this ability and queue up to 10 Guild Commander “banners”. Anyone with the ability to activate upgrades could become a temporary guild commander for 30 minutes. Such guild commanders will then only be visible to guild members and have a very very small and limited passive ability. (LONG TERM GOAL)

So we had this group in Fractals Dungeon 26 and the group leader decides that he wants to quit right when Jade Maw dies. He deliberately rushes off because he said that we were doing the dungeon too fast for him to collect any loots. In any case, the remaining party members were booted from the instance leaving us unable to collect the final chest nor the daily reward chest.

The group members were: Calpis Sour(Realive.1649), Lord Zendalle (me), Mikulanis (Murderface.3241), Kurosawa Shizuka (Wikus.7504), and group leader Barragex (Barragex.1925).

Is it a player abuse report worthy? Could we be re-imbursed for the lost fractal we succeeded in finishing? Is there anything we can do about it?

same thing is happening to me and a couple of buddies. We’ve been doing the JP daily and just yesterday we didnt receive anything on our first run on the JP. The second and third time we ran it we only got the Giant Wintersday Gift(s).

Honestly, I’m only doing it for the karma loot. Any dev looked into this?
