I still think the best way would have been to make diamond skin apply something like 6 seconds of resistance every 6 seconds while above x health threshold. Since resistance is a boon, it could be stripped/stolen/corrupted. Giving conditions enough time to dmg the player below the health threshold. But what do i know. ive only been playing this class for 3 kitten years.

dont count on it. If you look at the patch history as a whole for this game youll see that 80% of the time ele gets nerfed. anet made it very clear that they dont want us playing ele in pvp and since 90% of what i do in this game is pvp/ele related i will be focusing on other games. In fact, tom clancy’s division is coming out soon. Maybe ill check that out.

ok now that thats out of my system lets review:

1. Diamond skin is now useless in pvp because the amount of condi that get slapped at you in pvp, that cleanse is useless.
2. Auras are getting a duration nerf
3. Celestial amulet which is the amulet used most by ele is being removed
4. other classes getting buffs

so im guessing someone in anet hq REALLY hates ele. regardless they lost me as a customer after this BS. justify it all you want they took a massive dump on ele for the past 5-6 patches with visual and skill nerfs. So i will not be playing this game NEARLY as much as i did before and i sure as hell will not spend another PENNY on this garbage.

GL anet, youll need it.

i wonder if devs realize that in the current meta its impossible to have a cleanse build…. i mean with the amount of condi aids being thrown into mix the only way for a non condi build to survive is to avoid condi. you cant cleanse it…..oh well,bye bye power builds, Condi Wars 2 it is…

on another note, im getting very efficient at ticking checkmarks….

ive never bought a single outfit in this game and i refuse to do so simply because they arent armors. i cant mix different peices together. if i could i would buy em

We all know that the removal of “visual noise” is only for the benefit of PvP Tournaments, and so it should not apply to PvE players at all. All we are asking Arena Net to do is to restore the full special effects for all professions & elite specs to PvE.

I play ALOT of pvp and i can tell you that these visual nefts an not AT ALL beneficial to the pvp players. The guards elite trap is basically invisible and makes players who are immobolized think they are free to move. The new aura nefts makes pretty much all of the auras invisible so this is basically a buff for ele and will make fighting them even more annoying. not to mention the kittened egg shape that they are now…… i mean WTF.

next time on gw2 patch:
reduced particle effects on all legendary weapons to reduce clutter.
removed all animations from characters to reduce clutter.
removed all back piece particle effects to reduce clutter.
removed all skill animations to reduce clutter.
remove environment to reduce clutter.
remove all players to reduce clutter.
remove the game to reduce clutter.

in case youre wondering anet. im basically telling you to go kitten yourself.

well, now that we’ve established that anet doesn’t give a flying kitten about what we think, i will no longer be recomending this game to anyone, and i will likely be looking for new mmos to put my time into. congratulations anet

i stopped playing staff ele since this stupid patch, which is saying something because ele is my main, been playing it since launch and i have 4 ele. I wont be touching it until they fix the kitten animations. Add a toggle for the people who find the animations distracting or for those whose machines cant handle it. I have a pretty beastly rig, so im not worried about fps drops and so on. FIX IT!!!!

can we get the normal animations back now please? there are already 5 threads on this issue, alot of the skills just look plain stupid now. ele fireball is the biggest let down so far. A toggle to switch between the normal animation and the reduced clutter animations would fix this issue for everyone! Also would like to add that the new guardian elite trap animation is actually a problem in pvp because you cant see it after the initial ‘snap’ animation. so it seems as though there is nothing there but you keep getting knocked back. a pretty big issue considering the traps are already insanely powerful.

ive been wanting to get the light guild pants since HoT came out. to make it i need 5 of these kitten things and i nave no idea how to craft em. Some people in the guild say its bugged. The description of the item says you need the shimmering or tenebrous shards. If those unlock at the same time as the weapons then you need to wait to guild lvl 40 which is stupid. its even more stupid that something like this isnt unlocked at certain crafting lvl for the appropriate crafting proffesion or be allowed to purchase from the same guild armorer as the armor recipe. Please either fix this or point to where these are. I feel like this is ALOT more complicated that it should be.

If they want to make it so new players can see the game better by reducing particle effects. then they should create an option in the visuals of the game to reduce particle effects and make it toggleable. Helping your new playerbase is great but a change like this really shouldnt be mandatory. especially since we know something like this is possible with the “standardize player skin” option in pvp.

i play it and i still kick kitten , but its not what it used to be. Cant take on 2v1 and 3v1s as easily any more. still possible but you gotta know the class VERY well.
also fighting permadodge thieves is the most annoying thing in the world. i honestly didn’t think they could make thief more annoying that it was before.
Favorite class to fight on a d/d ele is a rev. Fights tend to look epic and require alot of strategy.

why even do this? wtf is the point? if they are trying to make it accessable for slower machines, why dont you just create a checkmark option in the visuals tab that turns this on and off. like “Reduce Visual Clutter”

The fireball looks like a ping pong ball with a red led shoved in it. i mean wtf.
