how to know you got yourself good team

How to know you have a good team:

1. You have a good balance between damage, CC, support and bunker.

2. 1 person goes close who has good 1v1/bunking potential but ALSO mobility, and calls out when something they can’t handle comes to point.

3. Warrior/necro doesn’t go close – too immobile to help elsewhere and get back on point.

4. you win the mid-fight (lol).

5. someone stays on mid and calls incoming (same as close).

6. your team actually respond to those calls. Having more mobile units roaming/rotating and leaving the most immobile on the mid point (ideal place for warrior).

As you may have guessed I’m playing warrior. Nothing wrong with a warrior first target especially if they rush in. Nothing wrong with ele as first target, especially if you have a nec to strip, war to burst. Everything wrong with a nec first target who’s playing off point at the start.

Just assuming the warrior was condi meta build right now you shouldn’t have left him anyway, only a terrible engi would lose that matchup with the amount of clear and avoidance they can generate against bursts as well as stability and ability to kite the warr.

You can’t berate someone for making a mistake that you then basically replicated pal! As much as anyone should know that the engi wouldn’t kill a decent ranger (engi can’t have been as good as you say 1v1ing a ranger on a captured point…) but you then ditch a warrior to go to mid when it sounds like it was already lost. It also sounds like mid wasn’t contested when the warrior left and he was coming for the +1.

Now I will say this, the warrior is probably not a warrior player. Not that they are bad in +1 but they are not mobile at all so running for a +1, so it is never a good idea with the current LB/MSh meta to do so. He’s probably used to rotating on a class which can disengage properly in order to get back to the mid point.

I’d actually argue your rotation choice was more detrimental than the warriors!

However, to your main point… yes there do seem to be some rather appalling players in the ruby area, a number of ele’s I played with last night running to far for 1v1’s on already capped points springs to mind…

Anywho… What can you do?!

Trading post bids - how to track / cancel?

So I put in a bid last week on a chaos longbow skin – needless to say the price has now inflated and techinically my bid is lost, in other words, my gold looks basically unrecoverable until a random time when the bid wins out.

Is there any way to cancel the bid and get the gold back? If there isn’t this seems like stupid system!

Nerf CONDI

Let’s clarify some stuff:

Condi CAN’T be applied through block evade or invuln, JUST LIKE POWER

ON TOP OF THAT you can remove it or use resistance to cover the burst.

So you actually have MORE ways of protecting yourself from it HOWEVER it’s supposed to be balanced out by Toughness.

If there’s an issue with condi it’s simply that. In my opinion the fix is simple. Take away the differential and make condi deal less damage based on toughness (maybe rename the stat) and make “toughness” give resistance and armour (yes that’s how you spell armour, Americans can’t spell).

Secondly, balance damage accordingly and remove condi cleanse/resistance from the game, since if you can dodge/block it, then why have more effects to stop damage for one type than another? If you make the above change, resist and cleanse can be removed.

Finally, condi being easier and not requiring skill is a complete myth made up by people who die to it because quite simply it’s annoying to die to a DOT even when you’ve disengaged. In actual fact there are additional REACTIVE WAYS to respond to condi bursts – remove condi or resistance, so just pay attention, you probably haven’t actually played a condi class and so haven’t learned how they work if you’re complaining.

Whereas power based damage requires more skill to mitigate because you rely on blocks/evades/unvuln solely and toughness which is passive, but doesn’t assist with bursts.

TL;DR – yes changes need to be made but stop complaining, condi is actually just as hard to play and easier to play against (as long as your class permits). If the meta is so heavily condi, stop playing your weak kitten build which hasn’t been adapted to deal with it – you freaking scrub.

Also, just based on “condi meta” DH isn’t going to be as poor as last season.

Hahaha! I love it!

It goes to show, there is an anti-warrior bias from some players. They were SO getting used to warriors being a free kill, now they might actually have to -gasp- work for it a bit.

Condi warrior is easily the strongest 1v1 class at the moment. I dont usually cry for nerfs, but I pretty much rage quit last night because of them. A warrior and thief combo on far is pretty nasty.

anyone that can kite can ruin a condi war (even the LB M/Sh variant which is becoming prevalent) no problem at the moment. Warr is only strong in 1v1 on point now (obviously as they need to be within range to contest). I literally destroy noobs and get kitten on by decent players, sure changes are needed but nerfing? No. Learn to play more like, don’t just assume it needs a nerf because your couple of weeks experience fighting it hasn’t yielded much. That’s your problem.

I have been running the rage heal with the M/Sh skullgrinder prim burst recently and it’s quite obscene. I’m not sure if the greater healing/damage from it is worth losing the resistance but would welcome some thoughts considering we have significant condi cleanse / resistance already with the first build variant.

Condi warrior are only OP when you don’t know how to handle them.

They are easy to kite. They have almost no disengage.

When they leap at you dodge (they will use elite)

Save a stun break. Save condi clear.

Kite invulns/zerks.

Out rotate.

Seriously they are super slow. And have a very tiny range. They are the definition of bruiser. Don’t trade blows with them. Even a full melee rev can out kite with prec strike. I don’t think there is a class that can’t kite them (thief = hit and run like normal)

Exactly this. However the condi damage is absolutely nuts that I can get off if I’m playing against a spaz monkey that allows it. 20 stacks of confusion and around 8-9 on burning + 16-20 of bleeding in a combo. It’s unholy. I’ve seen a 6.8k confusion on cast tick… it’s gross.

Honestly it’s easily dealt with but quite frankly they should adjust it so that they deal less but can at least stick to target somewhat. Longbow isn’t competitive at range.

Condi clear needs a full overhaul, I’m not going to make suggestions – I’m not well placed to do so having only returned to the game recently. I don’t think you can just buff the way to handle condi though, it needs normalising and smoothing so it’s still viable and strong / top tier but not overly ridiculous against some classes and useless against others.

Perhaps a good route to go down (instead of speeding up GS auto) would be to provide us quickness buffs, probably to self (i’d love it to be to raid but we can’t just fully push out mesmer as they are).

Quickness is just so amazing on GS, the only place we are getting play in with GS is in fractals where the cleave is nice and the 5 skill is great for mob management. Being self sufficient with quickness would at least help us there, all the better for it being a group wide effect. Gravedigger and sword auto (not that you ever use it) actually feel right with quickness.

Great ideas. It’s indeed the defence tree and based on the current meta in pvp at least almost every class is using their defence tree in pvp. The fact that necro isn’t is a testament to how poor and inflexible it is.

Don’t take the above statement as me backing the current pvp meta of course…

I really don’t think the OP is suggesting to nerf GS skill 1 damage, rather up the dps it does and make the swing more viable. I get that it’s part of the design for it to be slower but at least make it so that when clearing lower trash it’s not so spiky/clunky (in other words you’re mid animation and your party has already killed everything).

Deathly Chill change, +1. Not burn though and no to extending chill. They nerfed chill for good reason. I’d prefer to see something that boosts the damage of current condi and maybe something that gives some sort of condi cleanse protection (not 100% of course, but a penalty of sorts for cleansing that makes it still worth doing but we don’t lose all the damage).

In general damage tuning is just needed, GS reaper doesn’t add utility outside of 4 & 5 skill pull (useful) and 4 skill field (overlaps) and let’s be honest they aren’t great.

In essence we need more support or more damage to compensate, if the power build utility remains as it is there’s no excuse with our lack of utility for us to be so sub-par to thief/ele dps.

How viable is Burnzerker for raids atm ?

I believe people have moved into arms since the nerf and are still seeing good results, placing it 3rd best overall for condi (engi 1st and necro 2nd ofc) It actually matches necro or even slightly pips it on fights where necro isn’t able to keep horrors up or epidemic often/at all.

Wanderers was already better for this build (S/T M/S) with the strength > Disc variant. Nothing changes on that front.

The Disc variant is now nerfed but probably still viable on wanderers or sage’s as mentioned.

People need to stop taking these changes as moving something strong (arguably top Meta now, but hard to tell yet) into unplayable when instead it’s just cutting it back a bit. Condi war was too strong and despite this “nerf” being more directed (IMO) to Mes, it was needed here too.

When are conditions getting fixed?

There aren’t many condi’s you can apply in the game when the target is evading / blocking and revenant has a ton of that. A good one can evade block and CC most condi classes for 10 seconds which will kill any condi apart from chrono, chrono is the issue not condi.

In fact there are too many ways to simply remove condi without punishment on a lot of classes… Condi will always fluctuate between OP and sub-par as it’s structured now, it’s hard to balance because there’s no way to protect your damage from removal, it should be met in the middle by penalising condi cleanse (but still making it worth cleansing) whilst simultaneously buffing resist so it’s not dealing huge damage (to make up for the change).
