I think most people posting are aware SOME groups kick for low perceived performance. At the same time SOME groups don’t kick for it. Just because a poster talks about kicking and how it’s happened etc doesn’t mean they are saying every group does etc. Exaggerate much?

It sounds like it. Why even bother making a thread out of it if it only happend once or twice? Some people will be kittens. Doesnt matter the tool they use.

I’ll take your advice on finding a guild, and make sure to check out some guide videos on Youtube.

Most of my classes besides Druid and my second Guard (tank healer/boonshare) are built for maximum damage output, and after tons of WvW, I’d say I got the DPS rotations well covered. I think I’ll try Dragonhunter then, but I’ll ask my future guild members on what they would like me to run.

One question popped into mind: is Teamspeak usually required for clearing raid content? I know it’s probably very much a standard and makes things a whole lot easier, but I’m not very comfortable in talking to strangers. Listening is fine though. So will this become an obstacle?

DPS Rotations in terms of WvW and PvE are different tho. Seriously, hit the golem at least once.

Most groups I´ve raided with required teamspeak. Most of the groups want you in there to listen and not to talk. My current group trash talks its way through the raids.
I often see a german raid guild looking for members that runs without TS. Maybe some english speaking guilds run without ts too.

Make sure that you have Leyline Gliding. Its not needed for most bosses, however you need it for Xera and its pretty handy for the towers during the escort event.

You should search for a guild. It doesnt have to be a training guilds since many more exprienced guild groups would take a beginners if he is willing to learn.

If you raid with beginners only i wouldnt recommend heal druid. I´ve done this once and was like: “Dude, ill shove those heals right down your throat so dont run away from me.” In more experienced groups its imo one of the most chill classes.

Power PS is also really easy if you only want to stack might. The DPS rotation however is hard. Furthermore i think Condi PS is to good to pass for a Power PS.

Guardian and Condi Ranger are some really easy so play DPS classes.
If you go for a DPS class hit the golem a few times to see how good you really are.

So you or your friends have never used it to exclude or judge others that are not in your “group of friends” based on what numbers they are pulling?

Cant speak for his group. I can however speak for mine.

My group runs multiple DPS Meters and we’ve only kicked one person due to lack of DPS. That being said we didn’t need a DPS Meter to tell that is damage was awful. (Longbow 1 Pew Pew Guard). That player was just plain disrespectful. He didn’t even try to do something else so he got kicked.

If you pull your weight (e.g. Now and execute mechanics properly) and at least try to do some DPS we are totally fine with you staying in our group. We have enough DPS without you to not fail encounters based on DPS.
However, we will kick you if you fail mechanics repeatedly or just have a jack kitten stupid attitude towards us or other players in our squad.

We do use our meters for self improvement only.

Its highly unlikely that he joined a trainingrun either. At least i cant think of any serious trainingrun that would kick you after the first few attempts.

You know, in more civilized and serious raid MMOs people usually telling you if you are doing something wrong, not kicking you without saying a word.

Idk. If i look for exp people to raid with i dont want to explain the mechanics of bossfights. If you join and exp group i expect you to know what you have to do.
I wouldnt kick you for one single mistake tho. Everyone does mistakes. Its something that happens to all of us and is just human.
If you however repeat the same mistake over and over again while claiming to be exp i´d kick you without a word.

Well, if you dont know the mechanics you are a waste of time for 9 other players.
If you dont know the mechanics join a training group or look for a guild. Even some experienced raid groups take beginners. Just dont join a group that requires you to actually know the encounter (and im not speaking about knowing the encounter through guides).

There are groups that wont require TS or Discord. I just found those groups to be exp.
Heck, if i wouldnt be such a lazy little kitten i´d take you with my group.

There are groups who raid without ts. However those are exp groups. I´ve never seen training groups or something alike without ts.

If you are exp I probably wouldn’t kick you because you can’t use ts. You provided a valid reason to not join. However, since you only know VG i wouldn’t take you with my group. Simply because I would have to write down every mechanic, every mistake so you can improve. That’s something im not willing to put my effort and time into.

There might be groups who will take you. I´d ask in the guild recruitment section and maybe reddit.

I get why you don’t want to join training runs. IMO there are way to many people that don’t know their class, let alone boss mechanics.

I´am fairly experienced in raids, kill all bosses multiple times a week.
Last month or so I finished gearing my chrono and thought: “Hey, lets join a training group to train chrono tanking.”

Figured out 1500 toughness isn’t enough to chronotank… Someone other than me was always aggroed. Nope, it wasn’t the druid. Sorry guys, if you don’t understand game mechanics or think a DPS class like Tempest should have more than 1k toughness, raids aren’t for you.

I started raiding late April of this year and killed my first Matthias mid May or something. I encountered him once before and that’s it.
I joined a group for Sloth. No problem, killed him first try. Since it went so smooth our group decided to go for trio. First try as well.
The group wanted to go further. I told them that i don’t have any kill exp on Matthias, encountered him once. I told them that I watched videos and I´ll leave if they won’t or that they could just kick me if I do something wrong.

Since i haven’t made any mistakes during Sloth and Trio the group decided to give me a chance.
We killed Matthias after 4 tries.

If you play good, groups will most likely give you a chance. Be honest with them and don’t tell them you are exp if you clearly aren’t.

Oh and btw. The order for the Sabetha cannons is South West North East South North West East.
There will be orange swords when a cannon spawns. So you can just use your minimap.

I’m encountering a hell lot of “Hambow” warrior these days with my not-so-zerker Ranger.
Put up all stunbreakers possible, yet there is no chance at all to win a proper 1v1.
TBH, what else can be done with this issue other than NERF IT! ?

Sorry, but if you are not able to dodge the Stuns from the Hammer with a ranger, you are just bad. I am playing Guard, Ele and Warrior.
No one of them got problems with a hambow.

I understand that you want to test the patch at firt.
However, I got a question.
Will you release the patch, when its finished or do you wait till next Tuesday?

Personally i don’t think its a hack. There must be a place where you can jump far enough. I mean why should they hack themselves up to this position, if they could hack themselves just into bay?

I don’t really see a problem with Healing Signet.
Compare it to other Healing Skills and you will see what i mean. Thief and Ele are close to Warrior Healing Signet, Engi and Mesmer CAN heal more than the Warrior.
I compared ALL Healing Skills from EVERY class with the Warrior Healing Signet. I did this in german so i need to translate it befor i post it. Maybe i will have time for it at the weekend. If someone want to translate it for me PM me. I´ll give you the text.
Otherwise you need to wait for the weekend.

Healing Signet got another problem. You CANT heal bursts well. If you take a burst you need a lot of time to regain your health.
