Warhammer tried to give class defining stuff to each class and it doesn’t work outside of niche gameplay. I am not saying water the classes down but you would have to be new to pvp to not see that portal/timewarp are ridiculous (as is quickness without some negative).
Elementalists already negate the need for any other roamer atm, but that’s a different thread.
Mesmers > (spvp usefulness) Engi, Rangers
Eles > (spvp usefullness) War, Thief
What stinks about the idea though? Timewarp or Portal suggestion?
Time Warp has been removed the game.
Replaced with:
Signet of Time
Passive: 25% Movement speed increase
Activated: 4 seconds of Quickness
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Pick some random terrible trait to reduce the cooldown slightly or perhaps make ‘Signet Passive effects always stay in effect’
Time Warp can never be balanced as an AoE skill that lasts too long. Solve it by giving Mesmers much needed mobility.
Portal is difficult to balance since it is rather class defining. I believe nerfing it more (duration, distance, etc.) just makes it useless. I think the key is to give it to other classes (Engineer/Ranger) and limit it to only the player that created it.
Thoughts?
Looking for an Ele, Necro and Mesmer for team META. r40+ and a few paids ok.

Hello there,
I am looking to join a team, or create one, that is available to play 7PM-1AM M-Friday, and Sat/Sun (whenever).
I main thief (BS, Condi, etc.) and can play Warrior (100b or Oppa), Guardian (a few of the common builds) and Mesmer (just a fill-in).
I am currently r45 (70+QP) and am willing to make a team of similar individuals (r40+, 30+ QPs) that are willing to log-in, practice a little and enjoy the competitive scene.

I don’t think they are working. I tried adding 40% via runes, 15% via trees which should put me into the next second, it doesn’t.
I think those items only work on self casted swiftness. Not swifted gained by effects, traits or procs.
I see a lot of people complaining about this and saw some of the insane burst available using it while dueling so I tried it out.
At first I couldn’t replicate it but found that if you are able to (via being twitch or awesome) do your Shatters in a specific order and all while 3 clones were active or created after this first shatter, that you can get 20+ stacks of might and a pretty nuts AOE combo. The target of which is confused, dazed while you evade dmg.
I’ll be honest here, I hate playing Mesmer when asked. I can see why people ask though since this combo is ridiculous.
Not sure of a suggested fix but 3 stacks per clone per shatter is a little much.
PS. You only burn one utility to do the combo if you are twitch enough. My Area of Concentration Resulted in an Obvious way to do it.

Just going to list some observations.
-not fair to classes that lack mobility
-not fair to burst classes who have very low HP pools who die very fast now with reduced hp on down’
-ruins competitive play by making the first engagement the most meaningful
-takes the skill out of selective stomping
-warrior skill vengeance was never fixed so if you die fast while vengeance you get another 20 second timer while in spawn
The other system was fine. Just add another ‘point’ in the timer… e.g. 15/30/45/60 mark so the worst you can get is a 15 second timer.
PS. Please fix the game before you make anymore modifications. Loading bugs and this bloody timer are shrinking my friends list fast.
If I am about to give them an 18 second stomp they are probably faster to alt f4
Only one group we have run into so far doing it but they do it all the time and they are able to change characters quickly.

There is absolutely no reason to take a Warrior over a 10/30/30/0/0 Guardian, none in sPvP.
The problem is Toughness is a crap PVP stat and the Warrior has no good boon access, almost 0 combo field generation and plenty of crappy passive traits.
I think someone else said it best when ‘we think of roles in sPvP, there is always another class that fills it better than Warrior’.
Bunker – Guardian/Ele (prob more Ele now) >>Engineer>> Warrior
DPS Bunker – Mesmer >>> Warrior
Roamer – Thief, Mesmer, Engi Ele, DPS Guardian >>> Warrior
Treb Killer – Ele >>>> everyone else
Treb Holder – Mesmer >>> everyone else
Think role. Most classes have a ‘reset’, we don’t.
Thief – stealth
Mesmer – too much crap to list
Ele – mistform, etc.
Guardian – invuln, heals (boon, first heal is 8k, etc.)
Warriors, Rangers, Engis (in some regards) need resets.
Anyway, done with this class for now. The best thing about GW2 is that we don’t have to level up to play.
No Fast Hands fix either =(

I was hoping for some bug fixes and maybe a boon (protection, retal, etc.) or two =)
Back to the shelf. No reason to play a Warrior over a Guardian in sPvP really.
Our Condition builds are terrible, we have no bunker build that is viable (compared to other classes) and our burst build only works against teams you are most likely beating anyway.
