bumping this thread, because the issue is still not resolved.

I’m still getting the clicking and popping, as it’s been going on a year now,
I’ve had this occur on three different computers, and it’s really crazy that
this hasn’t been fixed.

I’ve had the sound issues on XP, Windows 7 & 8 as stated on three separate
systems, with three different sound cards, on-board audio and it even happens
on usb audio. so how is this possible and there’s no fix?

yes. “clicking and popping” randomlly.

this issue didn’t happen during beta, nor the first few months. I was under the impression that
the thread was also about the clicking sounds, i had posted with others about this issue for over
9 months,. and basically had to install another audio device to use that as the default, just to allow
myself to enjoy the game.

it’s the same sound, sometimes it’s really really loud, and always has a echo effect, like a delay.

I have tried without success to remove this issue on several computers, with different soundcard
as mentioned before.

it also has been referred to as the “Gunshot sound-pop” issue

I posted over 7 months ago, please fix this, going on 9 months now, my ears are bleeding
when on vent with guildies. I’ve tested this with fresh install, XP, Win 7, and same issue.
used all the suggested tricks. from the previous thread.

I have also used several different computers, with the same issues, i had tried different audio
cards, everything from the onboard audio, the SB Live! series cards, same random clicking/popping
sounds, even with the audio settings down in-game, the sounds still happen.

I’ve played with no-firewall, no vent, no skype, no other applications running in the background,
and it still happens randomly.

The only temp fix was installing virtual audio cable and selecting that as my default audic device,
which disables my audio sound card, so i don’t have my ears in pain.

Why hasn’t this been fixed?

my question was, why is it showing 14/16 even though ive finished the entire
achievement bracket for Queen Jennah’s Jubilee. Am i being forced to go into
the gauntlet side to complete this?

i was going to post this in game bugs, but im not 100% if this is an actual game bug ~

i finished the entire achievement panel for Queen Jennah’s Jubilee but its only showing 14/16

is this normal? should it be 16/16?

Im aware that it says you can complete events in both achievement brackets to get the 16,
but was curious if its glitched.

You must start from tier 1 and work your way to tier 4 with both candidate separately. The top-most option will always be the highest tier. If you want tier 1 then select the bottom option.

i guess you didn’t read my post above, its not letting me even get to Tier 1

After i cleared Evon 1-4

I went back in, and it keeps starting at Tier 2, no matter what i do,
I did get credit for tier 2 Ellen, not 1, and 3/4 are still locked.

so it either starts at tier 2, or 3, and it never goes back down to tier 1.
ive tried everything, down a few notches, down a setting, nothing.
but i do have the achievement for tier 2, not 1,

I have also tried to re-do Tier 2 & 3 several times, and no reward,
so either im still re-doing the Evon side, but since i cannot tell when
you enter the instance which side you are working on, its frustrating.

still bugged for me, day 3

still have this issue for the last two days.

I have finished the Evon Tier 1-4

Then went onto Ellen side for that achievements, it started at Tier2
automatically, and it wont go to Tier 1, i’ve tried everything, from leaving
the instance, going up a few notches, going down, it either goes to Tier3
or back down towards 2, but never 1.

I have credit for Tier 2 on Ellen, but not Tier 1, so i cannot advance to 3,
this is all very confusing.

also, i would like to know how you are aware of what side you are doing
the candidates on with these Tiers, ive heard you dont need the buffs,
ive tested this out, hasn’t solved the issue either way. any ideas?

For the past week I have been going hard at it for World Completion… I was saving Divinity’s Reach for my last area to complete.
I cannot complete DR now because I need the new 21 POI!!!!

How lucky am I, a day before I finally finished world exploration you guys implement a new (inaccessible) POI…

dont feel bad, all i needed was one vista in WvW. i get that the other day,
thinking im all done for world 100%, and i get the loot, and realize no achiev, no title.
so it was very anti-climat….ic

and that very same day, they added the new POI, and its just basically waiting it out now.

lets hope they fix this soon

confirmed as well. so bummed, just got my last two vistas in WvW for 100% World Competition,
thinking i was all done, chest reward came up, got the 2 gifts of exploration for the rewards,
but no achievement, or title, until i realized a POT was added today.

So im going to camp that closed gate lets hope they address this soon

I have been doing testing with clean installs on Windows XP/7 X64 & 32bit,
and all the same results, random clicking & poping sounds.

Never had this issue in beta, or the first few months of gameplay.

But lately its been about 5-10 per hour during large events.

doing the southshore event today, have had about 15 pop’s in the last hour.

please fix this, going on 7 months now, my ears are bleeding when on vent with guildies.

add Anvil Rock to the list, bugged as well.

i took a 2 month break from this game, due to the sound bug with no resolve, and with a new install
tested on Windows 7 x64 and also XP pro X64, still the same issues.

- clicking & popping sounds

so nothing has changed, i have tried all the tricks/methods posted as before, nothing works.
would love to be able to play the game without this issue, and it still occurs with my sound
totally off in game.

there has been some moaning on our Anvil side about how the numbers are against us,
it doesnt bother me personally, i enjoy a good challange. tho it seems we’ll be pitted against
old foes DR/NSP next week at this rate.

never had problems till about the last two weeks with these sound issues.

echoing & pulsating sound does — still occur --
- when game music is turned off
- when all the audio sliders are off
- when you alt-tab out too windows
- when you ask your fellow guildies over vent, and they all say “yes” they’ve had the same issue

and btw, deleting the local.dat doesn’t fix the issue, not sure why people claim it does,
would appreciate an official response if they are still aware after 4 months its going on.
