Honestly, it’s a great idea. Don’t force terromancers to run 2/3 trait lines to be somehow viable. I think terror should be combined with all the other necromancer traits that affect Fear and its damage should be buffed (even if you run all the traits that affect Fear and Nigtmare runes, you don’t have access to that many sources of fear).
What happened to this skill? I hate the new animation. Please change it back to the old one
I like almost all of these changes, but axe is still terrible and Curses remain to be our worst traitline. The Lingering Curse nerf is a bit too harsh.
I hope they rework curses. It’s such a terrible traitline at the moment.
That’s literally the best balance decision they’ve made since the game launched.
Good changes overall.
But why isn’t anything being done about Deathly Chill not working on bosses and most mobs in HoT? Well, tbf it’s not just Deathly Chill. Since Chill doesn’t affect any mobs with a breakbar, many of our skills are essentially useless against them. This makes me really sad.

Although condi reaper feels much better than in the previous beta, it’s still MUCH weaker than for instance condi ele, condi chrono and condi guardian. I think the main reason for this (apart from the fact that Curses is indisputably our worst traitline and in fact you’re better off running Spite/Soul Reaping/Reaper) is Deathly Chill being too weak. At first I really liked the idea. Chill dealing damage seemed amazing to me, especially when combined with Terror. Unfortunately, it’s been rather disappointing in practice.
There are two problems with Deathly Chill:
- it doesn’t affect mobs with a breakbar (which seemed to be ubiquitous in the last beta)
- it still doesn’t deal enough damage because it doesn’t stack intensity
The latter can be easily solved – the damage from Deathly Chill could be doubled, but that still leaves us helpless against bosses or even regular trash mobs with a breakbar. Perhaps the damage from Deathly Chill could be applied even to mobs with a breakbar?
Alternatively, you could replace this trait with something like ‘Chilling a foe inflicts Torment (2 stacks, 3 seconds)’. Of course, it doesn’t seem as fun as Chill dealing damage, but the fact that Torment stacks and affects bosses is enough for me to say goodbye to Deathly Chill in its current form.

MARJORY’S DAGGER OR RIOT!
Speculation: Don't let ele spec be warhorn!

Okay, so you’re complaining about the warhorn even though it could have litterally ANY SKILLS. It makes no sense to me.
Your only arguments are ‘warhorns look bad’ and ’warhorn’s animations are bad’, which I don’t think it’s true, but it’s a matter of personal prefrence. You should at least wait for the tempest to be properly revealed before complaining….
To be honest though, if you want to quit the game just because of one of your elite specialisations getting the warhorn as an optional weapon, then please do. I just think it’s very silly.
This is totally taken out of context. Please at least try to read through arguments before pushing them aside as nonsense as this gives zero input into the discussion.
There are several people who said already how warhorn fits the AoE and buff theme and that’s precisely not what the ele needs as elite spec which is meant to give you a new playstle.
And that’s on top of the warhorn being limited animationwise while also mostly having horrendous skins.
Stop being childish.
I’ve read through arguments, but most of them are really bad. Just because warhorn ‘fits the AoE and buff theme’ doesn’t mean, that’s what it’ll end up being. Heck, it could even be used as a burst melee weapon, you simply don’t know yet! As for the time being, we know practically nothing about tempest, so arguing that it won’t give you a new playstyle is just groundless.
Also, do you really think that because of this thread the devs will be like ‘Oh, we’ve been working on this spec for a year, but they clearly don’t like warhorns, so let’s just scrap everything and start over.’ Grow up.

“Oh, I’m not buying the expansion. What can I do with my free time now? I’ll let everyone know.”
As if someone actually cared at this point.
Hey, it might be a silly question, but I’m not sure about it. I’m moving to Japan for about a year in a few months. Will I be able to play GW2 while in Japan?
So recently I’ve had a lot of free time and created this build for my reaper:
http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgQB_AL0Brg~
I wouldn’t call it a condition build, it’s more of a PvE hybrid build. The idea behind this build is to deal relatively high damage (high crit chance) while dealing some decent condition damage.
Gear:
Full sinister + runes of Grenth
Weapons:
Staff/Greatsword
Originally I wanted to use Staff/Scepter+Focus, as the focus skills have chill and vulnerability, but the greatsword is probably a better choice due to the fact that Reaper’s shroud is melee. Staff seems to me like a good choice because of fear, chill and a condition transfer. I haven’t decided on the sigils yet.
Other skills:
Heal – Your soul is mine (Consume Conditions could be a good alternative, but I chose Your Soul is mine because it deals damage, chills (runes of Grenth) and gives you life force.
Utilities – Signet of Spite/Blood is Power/Epidemic (Epidemic only makes sense if you’re planning on fighting with at least a few mobs. But then again, that’s kind of the point of this build).
Elite – Chilled to the bone (mainly because of chill)
Rotation:
1)Mark of Blood (bleed)
2) Chillblains (chill deals additional damage and inflicts 3 stacks of vulnerability and poison)
3) Reaper’s Mark (fear deals damage, chill deals damage+inflicts more vulnerability)
4) Signet of Spite+Blood is power+Epidemic (lots of conditions including chill and vulnerability)
5) Putrid Mark (transferring bleed and vulnerability)
6) Chilled to the bone (more chill)
7) Your soul is mine (?)
8) Reaper’s shroud (fear, damage)
So, what do you think about this build? Will it work?
It’s a great idea actually. I don’t think the devs will agree though.
