Yeah felt for Darkhaven – [Asg] had been prowling the maps looking for a scrap and found one in their northern most supply camp. They were just pushing us back with roughly even numbers and some siege defense when it got dropped.

Also as an off-peak guild member – I’d like to express we’ve had nothing to do all day/evening…

This weeks win is primarily down to the peak-time forces being outclassed by FA. It’s not what everyone will want to hear but it’s factual.

Well if nothing else I’d say it quells the whole DH and FA working together theory!

I’d consider that the comments about “joining the winning team” are a little ill-founded. Yes in the current match Fort Aspenwood are wiping the floor but in essence they are the number 13 server from 24. As an off peak player, from an off-peak EU guild I can say that in this match from day 1 we’ve had very little to do. The peak time forces were just outclassed by the always strong FA peak forces.

So, in short, don’t whine about transfers, and coverage hours etc. FA are just better in this case at this current time.

For the record there have been a number of tough units from both opposing servers that I have had some cracking ad intense fights with over the course of the week welcome and talented adversaries and an absolute credit to their respective servers. Those of you at the cross roads, in the south of the map, in Darkhaven borderlands yesterday evening (GMT) gave us an excellent run for our money!

I have to remeber you, you have to say the REAL active member you can deploy on the field, that is not more than 10 ppl.

Your guild was invited to exit from the Alliance cause you speak about great plans, but never done something for the World. 1 day per week taking 2 camps is a bullkitten for an alliance.

So go to deploy your brave men on FA or others winning servers. Lefters are the cancer of this game.

I pride myself on remaining respectful throughout forums though you clearly have no clue. The pure fact it took you almost 10 days to spot this post shows your alliances approach to current affairs. Not once have we claimed to be 150 strong, perhaps English lessons required too?

Furthermore – I’d suggest that the commanders and guild leaders we have liaised with on Fort Aspenwood would testify to a small and organised force dedicated to making a difference. We’ll let our playing do our talking, and continue to liaise with those members of FA as required.

This is the exact attitude we left to avoid….

Hey all,

A clairifcation for you on The EU Guild situation as mentioned by Isyu some time above. The Asgards have now almost completed our transfer and with 40 or so active and dedicated members are filedingg a consistent 15-25 members on a daily basis. Naturally there is limited time overlap for us to line up with primetime US guilds, and being at the end of our day (early hours of the morning) we’re typically fielding 5-10 players at such a time… We’re thoroughly enjoying the server. The match up though one-sided is proving that the other two servers are determined and have a dogged resolve in the face of adversity.

Many thanks once again to EE, FF, PTX, Pro, WTF, Echo, BT and everyone else who has made us welcome, supported us in WvW and found out late night members a lesser role to fulfill alongside your members!

So much for a fair fight. Fort Aspenwood was using a hack elementalist. 6 of us were hitting her and she wasn’t going down. In addition, she had pretty much every buff in the game (regen was stacked 10 times) when no one else was near enough to buff her.

I think FA should be disqualified this round for cheating.

Sea of Sorrows are currently winning Tier 2, one of the strongest NA and oceanic timezones but ZERO euro aside from the PRX euro section. You want to fill a hole and compete in tier 1 for 1st place, SoS is the place to be.

A kind offer and one of a few we’ve received. Whilst I appreciate your competitive approach and a keen eye for an opportunity The Asgards aren’t looking for a winning server more a server who’s play style and politics suits us and ours.

Can I just re-affirm that having spent the whole last two days speaking to off-peak guilds on FA. There have been 0 significant transfers into the server since the arrival of the Japanese guild posted openly on the forums.

No EU guilds have transferred across during this game. We will in the near future however.

As for people suggesting people dislike Yaks Bend. With the exception of a limited number of players who have been less than polite and have let their server down with petty attitude over issues they have no grasp over I’ve found Yaks players to have a great attitude towards WvW, a healthy respect for good competition and a bloody good resolve whilst fighting on the ground.

I’ve also been contacted by guild leaders from Yaks Bend, offering us a place to go should FA not be what we are looking for. This is gratefully received and all of the above mark Yaks Bend as a worthy adversary for any server.

Again close. We initiated some contact with the Italian alliance upon arriving in the server (some weeks back). They were in the start up stages and seemed fairly focused. Without turning this into a flaming session they had other ideas about the running of an alliance, their position and how guilds should participate. This has led to the ongoing in-fighting on the server and is essentially why Whiteside ridge is failing to hit it’s full potential. Their typical “bio-ball”, zerg focused approach wasn’t to our liking and they didn’t like our more tactical role as such we were just a bad fit for one another.

Close. We’re a mixed EU guild (almost every EU country is represented!) and have members from Canada, Israel, and S.Africa too. We’re not looking at taking as many as possible – merely a night shift that can coordinate an effective defense of the territory taken during prime time.

We’re The Asgards [Asg] as mentioned in the first post. We are currently in Whiteside so your friend was half-correct.

Just clarifying – The European contingent we may receive are currently just scouting the server with one individual and are voting on the transfer within their guild. We haven’t had any “massive population increasing” transfers this week at all other than a Japanese guild that I have yet to see in WvW. Through the daytime it was just the same bunch it has always been. Let’s not pretend you’re “more often that not” outmanned in EB, that’s just not true. We have equal peak forces, you carry more overnight unless we can secure a decent PPT as a small group on one map and attract PvE people to play. That’s what happened and will continue to happen.

Don’t be under the illusion FA has ever had a queue on any map in any matchup since the first hours of a matchup reset. Yes, this week isn’t over but in regards to the scoreboard it is an extremely unlikely uphill battle. We’re still going to be wreaking havoc where we can.

Thanks for the continued support guys. A big thank you to the personal touches added by BT, PTX, EE and FF and ISA and RK (I’m sure there are some I’m missing so apologies in advance).

EU Guilds – speak up now – a unified strike at this would make a marked difference and be tactically more sound than a trickle!

No drama – I’m with you that server transfers were a nightmare of late. Which is why we’re looking at a complete change of role as opposed to moving to pitch our tents with the winners.

Fully understand ongoing frustrations with WvWvW set up – though have little technical/game design know how so can’t present a fix. However increasingly mixed servers seems like a solid community answer to a design-based issue in the game.

I like it – will allow a broader tactical view for those of us who aren’t interested in finding the nearest commander and joining a bio-ball of doom

@Cybertx – A good point well made, we aim to increase general coverage but admitidly Oceanic guilds and those in Asia will be required for 24/7 coverage. We are but part of the answer… not a complete cure =D

To give an honest account as to why we are looking to move I’d need more time however it boils simply down to being a server stuck in limbo. We are good enough during prime time (if a little dis-organised with a general disquiet among the ranks throughout the server due to inter-guild politics being played poorly) but lack off-peak coverage. As such we find ourselves jumping between tiers where we can’t compete with the greater coverage of the tier above and wipe the floor with the tier below. Subsequently we are looking for a fair fight – somewhere that presents challenges whilst not being a lost cause. We picked Fort Aspenwood for that exact reason.

Throughout my time looking at the US servers I have been massively impressed at the professionalism of the guilds, and most of all the “Esprit de corps” between rivals – genuinely reveling in and respecting your opponents strengths. Until now YB has been excellently represented by it’s members in this thread and others – you sadly have just put a stain on that record and shamed your comrades.

We’re an EU guild who are considering a move to Fort Aspenwood (the US server) to provide a tactical presence in their WvW during non-NA prime time.

In short, we’re 150 strong – whilst that can make a difference we are looking for other EU/Oceanic guilds that are considering a similar move OR members to join us in this quest.

So if you are:

-A guild leader/officer who is already considering this
-One of the above who would propose this to your guild
OR
-An EU player who is interested in joining The Asgards[Asg] to assist us in providing this night shift.

Would welcome (educated) opinions and ideas below and will happily respond to PMs or replies here should you be interested.

As a brief rundown I’ve moved across as a “scouting party” and have been in contact with guild leaders from the NA prime time active WvW guilds. So far the response has been encouraging and the WvW scores are reflective of the servers dedication to a coordinated effort. The map paints an amazing picture during prime-time however as they openly admit they have a limited non-NA prime time presence. In my opinion this server has everything it takes to go up a couple of tiers IF they get the right level of support in these times.

Remember a coward dies a thousand death whilst a warrior dies just one!

I’ve been in touch with a number of guild leaders on server now and will be putting forward a case for moving to here to the rest of my guild. It’s a good cause and to see other players from opposing servers praising and enjoying the level of WvW commitment is very encouraging.

I’m really interested in hearing from other Oceanic/EU guilds who have or would consider making the move. It’d be nice to have some sort of co-ordinated alliance of guilds who can make a real night time stand before the yank cavalry arrive each day.

If you lead/have some say in a guild who is considering the move (or has already) please feel free to get in touch so we might discuss an alliance. This goes for other guild leaders in prime time as the more co-ordinated we can make our efforts the more they count =D

We are currently scouting out a number of servers to move our 100strong guild to. We are a WvW focused guild who consider our specialism to be in small unit “smash and grab” style play and are firmly ANTI-ZERG.

People need to appreciate that there is limited organisation inter-guild on this server. It’s not “unfair” and we’re not really massively outnumbered. We ARE however massively fragmented as Askil mentioned above.

In my eyes the solution lies with;

- Individual players joining organised guilds, communicating with voice servers and with good advice on sound tactics.

- Small disorganized guilds merging into bigger, organised guilds or combining to form more substantial units. There are TOO MANY chiefs and not enough indians.

- Alliances which are being organised need to stop bumping heads and start working together. Why waste four times the administrative progress for four alliances that all have common goals.

The “Little Hitler” grasps for power need to STOP. If ever there was a banner available to rally under this sort of issue is it.
