A quick question regarding macros in gw2.. I know the game doesn’t support macros already… But my keyboard has the functionality to record key strokes so the macro technically doesn’t require the game to support it.

Please can I get some confirmation on the legality of this in game?

Is there a dungeon in wayfarer and dissea? are they different?

I just feel the ability to be able to duel a player anywhere is a must… I dont want to have to go to a private server every time i want to fight a friend

I’m just standing around waiting for world events to start with other people… and I find myself thinking whats missing?

In various other MMO’s you could duel a player anywhere in the open environment…. Do you think this is a feature Anet are likely to introduce?

It’s definitely a good time killer when you are in groups waiting… and its a good social event too

I don’t know if this is the right place to post… but I am looking to join / create a 5 man spvp team.

I have a mumble server that we can use, my main character is mesmer of which I have pvp’ed on alot. I am also experienced with Ele and guardian.

If any one wants create a team with me or has a team I can join please let me know:)

It’s not easy to meet randomers to create a consistent team so this is the only way I could think to get a team going.

Just a quick one regarding the ranking system for PVP.

I’ve never properly taken PVP seriously before, but now there is a ranking system I kinda want to work my way up on the ranking system…

No I notice in game that your games played / won is sorted by profession… does that mean the ranking is sorted by profession?

What I was thinking of doing was making a new Mesmer and taking it a bit more seriously.. but will the new characters games won / lost start at zero or will it continue from my other mesmers rank?

Don’t know if there is a post or not, but is any one else experiencing players hacking in W v W? Enemies are just appearing on the keep walls even though there are no gates down.

Currently we are fighting off several hackers from Underworld who keep doing this..

Just thought I’d create a topic for people to add too.

Iruwen, I play the game legitametly. I can only speak for myself of course, but I believe it’s a bit of a rash statement to say that all the bigger players on one server have been hit by a Trojan:)

Rule number 1 is to use a different password for your email and game.. I made this error on WoW. Now i use drastically different passwords ! Though that didnt make a difference in this case

I understand and appreciate how the tool may not be backward compatible.

I wont hold high hopes for recovering my deleted characters to save dissapointment, however, if at the time it is possible it would be awesome.

Dawn wasnt cheap and I am going to have a tough time collating the gold for it again!

Can you confirm if players who want to recover their characters can do so with characters that were deleted / hacked before the tools are available?

If you can recover characters prior to the tools being release I am going to love you forever and give you a cookie..

I would presume so. It wouldn’t make sense to delete the account after the trial.. You probably just have to log into your account and upgrade to the full edition of the game when you have the money. Hope this helps

I think the first step for anet is to admit that there is an issue. A lot of us have been told things like our emails were not secure (when they were and still are).

I would accept a public apology at the very least. A lot of us love anet and the work they are doing, but can’t help but feel somewhat alone in the dark at the moment.

I only hope that a server rollback will be done if anet decide it is an issue at their end. Dawn was not cheap..

I have never spoken to the guy as far as I am aware. I was hacked way before that image you see of some one whispering the hacker

We know for sure the guy is targeting commanders and people with the golden title. It is a French guy being malicious.

He is targeting commanders and people with the golden title because we are more likely to be wealthy.

He must have really hated me as he deleted my characters, as far as I know, no others have been deleted.

We know its a french guy who has some sort of vendetta against the richer and more known players on our server… thats the extent of our knowledge .. It feels like we know more then anet atm unfortunately:/

Just to confirm that image – the player ‘Freyn’ has been hacked – we are witnessing the live – ANET Pick up on it please! catch this guy.

A common occurence is we are getting the email saying ‘We have recieved a request to change your email, hopefully from you!’

Alot of people are getting this in french …. so they are french hackers potentially?

Some one in my guild had the mobile authenticator on their account.

They just got their account back – the hackers didnt take anything though. Very lucky in comparison to others

It is nice to not have a response that bascially says ’ check your account security’ or ‘we cant be held responsible if your email account isnt secure’ when they are.

Unfortunately they wont be able to recover you items.

My characters got deleted and cant be recovered.

Keep posting though – hopefully we will get the issue escalated.

Furthermore – My guild friend that got hacked today had the mobile authenticator on their account.

Their email address is secure too – no one has accessed it.

Yet more hits on high ranking player accounts on Ruins of Surmia.

Anet, every day that passes make this seem less and less like our issues and more and more like a security threat in the game.

This issue needs to be escalated and a proper investigation needs to be done.

In the same boat mate. I had everything for sunrise and just needed the event not to bug.

The hacker deleted my chars and cant be recovered.

Hopefully anet will take note if people keep logging the issues.

My email address was verified.

Furthermore – I had the function enabled which requires authentication when a new email address is used.

Surely this should stop any one compromising my account?

I posted regarding my account and my guldies account being hacked yesterday.

Today another big player on the server has been hacked. The only thing all three of us have in common is that we all have commanders / are popular players on our server.

My email account was secure as was my guild wars account.

Both accounts used different passwords.

I am aware that anet believe this is not an issue at their end – but this just seems all too fishy.

How could he know my email address? My computer is safe – I have a newly installed copy of Windows 8 and I have used multiple antivirus software to attempt to find any key logging threats. All came back clean.

I would like to reach out to Anet and ask for further investigations to be completed as this is hitting players who have put a lot of time and effort into their accounts.

Nope – Non of us have.

I am speculating that there is an exploit in their security, I’ve noticed that they have taken down the password reset functionality. It tells me to log a ticket…. It seems very suspicious to me… if it is their problem and they cant restore my character they are in a very sticky situation

I had a ticket up for mine – I got the account back and was informed that they could not restore character or gear – 700 hours wasted.

My guildies acc has not had a response for his ticket.

My account got hacked earlier – I have all requirements for Sunrise. The hacker was not a gold seller they simply logged on and deleted all of my characters.

This was bad enough – I am absolutely fuming at this. Anet responded quickly and recovered my account then told me non of my characters or items can be recovered. This is an absolute PISS TAKE.

Ok so thats me hit badly – and that is ridiculous.

Now I make a new character and start recovering from my massives losses. Only to find out about an hour and a half later my guildies account has been hacked in the same manner. ARE YOU SERIOUS ANET? You recovered my account and let the perpetrator reoffend? Do you really not have any method of tracking who has done this?!

I am extremally angry, and i apologise for my appauling language.

BTW this hacking is STILL in progress and no response from ANET as of yet.

If you disagree with the way Anet are treating dedicated players please bump this post.

I hope you take heed of this message Anet – I love this game alot. but players wont stay around unless you sort this account hacking out or atleast implement player / item restoration.
