Seeing as this is the ONLY content in game that requires time/coin/laurals or other resources to get AR added along with the time prison it locks us into~~~ FoM is severely under rewarded. Rush-stack-melee dungeon paths offer more for a lot less time/coin investment & headache.
I can play 3-4 FoM daily "box reward’ levels each day for 6 months & not recover half of the coin it cost to get my AR~ in the sense I choose to spend my 2-3 hrs locked into one portion of game knowing FoM content rewards less than other content~ I am in reality LOSING money that would easily be made elsewhere even in open world PvE. FoM is a GOLD SINK for players that like it.
To play past lvl 10 for others is a total waste of time if they don’t like FoM or need to make coin during their game time to meet their other needs ~which sadly depletes the population options for those that like to climb the ladder. hehehe C’est la vie.

I like Scarlet, and I don’t feel like I need to go on a big huge rant to convince others that they should share my opinion. The fact that she is the most talked about villain in Guild Wars 2 yet means improvement for the writers. The reason why you don’t see “I like scarlet” posts is because these people are off enjoying the game or really don’t have an opinion either way.
Most of the Scarlet hate posts here are perpetrated by maybe a few hundred players out of many thousands that want to impose their opinion on other players and convince Anet…. to do what exactly? Just up and remove her from lore?
I don’t suspect everyone is going to enjoy every one of their ideas. If you really don’t like it to the point it makes you rage, I would suggest a break until it changes. The actual game content is still plenty enjoyable for me and my guild of different opinions.
well said
In the whole equation of things I come to kill X mobs (that can be replaced by any mob really), the community & scenery, hopefully not a lot of bugs & some decent rewards for my time/money contributions.
They can replace Scarlet with Mr Pickle Head heheh I will be honest I have 7200+ achieves & have ZERO clue, nor has anything in the game thus far piqued my interest to learn, what this “story” is all about. Others love to keep up with it. I’ve never been a “groupy type” so outside learning tips on how to kill or defend against the nxt x y z mob, my limited brain capacity has no use for explanations on why this mob or that wants to own some pixel parcel of land or object. To me it’s just a bow on the box~~pretty barbie doll fluff, nothing more.
That said the type of content they add as illustration every 2 weeks is beginning to be a pain. Makes everything a rush job & takes players out of the loop of various content as they focus on racing to be the first to get this latest picture painted on their achieves. Wish they would do it every 3 weeks+ at least. Really tired of dealing with the new bugs & glitches that roll in with this on a REGULAR basis & content interruptions.
Guess that means yes, I am tired of the story lol.
Fractal lovers invest in the gold/time sink that FoM truly is, for no feasible reason. They like the run, that is it. The resources/time coin laurals or w.e used for AR that is needed NOWHERE else in the game ensure making a profit in FoM on a regular basis is a no go considering other dungeons & content available require very little time commitment & zero financial investment to accomplish for the same or better rewards (FoM wep skins & endless tonics are not real rewards lol)
. A player makes more coin taking their lvl 80 to a lvl 5 zone & killing little mobs for 1.5 hrs than they do stuck in a sloppy FoM for 2+ hrs. It is a sad truth for those of us who enjoy FoM, we sacrifice a lot of other game content, time & coin to play it beyond lvl 10

I love how Aden Celeste.3650 expressed this! I am an extremely active player & find the 2 week releases & all the bugs & glitches that come with them as tedious & frustrating making me feel more rushed & taking other players out of the loop for other fun content way too often. Even 3 weeks would be a lil less annoying than two. Way too much stress that tends to cause conflicts in the community as many feel rushed to try & get it all NOW & bugs & glitches that affect players everywhere run, not only the newest addition.
This games leaves little time to explore all the content or enjoy a few relaxed runs~ puts too much pressure & emphasis on the releases & totally ignores the communities stability & mindset are being negatively impacted.
Dungeons allow time flexibility & are mostly accomplished with rush~ stack ~melee & no added obstacles like AR or JPs yet they are rewarded on par or more for A LOT less time.
The added expense/time of of acquiring AR that is ONLY required for FoM is a gold sink unless a player really enjoys FoM or there is something available in there that makes it inviting for the masses ( FoM weapon skins or yet another forever tonic are not it lol). The new additions don’t do that. A novelty that either will be completely avoided or lose it’s luster within a cpl of weeks. Then we return to the masses avoiding it again.
Adding new JPs in there isn’t considered a more exciting, more challenging FoM for those of us who truly love FoM~ it is just another thing for sloppy mistakes or off days of ourselves or other members to make, in an already LONG time commitment, more frustrating & sadly another thing over demanding rush parties will use to justify why they kicked a member 3 paths in & replace them with a guildy for the daily reward.
While I can appreciate the AR progression addition or some new bosses, FoM really is NOT worth the time investment & nothing added justifies that option over others available on a regular basis. Some players would like to do MORE than just spend their allotted game time in FoM. The dungeon allow them the freedom to run a path or two daily & still make it for guild events & some WvW/Spvp. FoM is too inflexible for such little return.
Btw I am not a bearbow ranger. Chances are the “great pretenders” probably outnumber the bearbow types 10-1.
Many of you don’t “out contribute” us in party runs as much as you like to imagine whether we play support or dps. Looks great on papier, but alot of you aren’t consistent or optimal in the application process. So in the end there isn’t a huge gap in dps if any.
Those of you that insist on keeping your omnom bar on despite the fact you are bringing down your ENTIRE parties dps with your up n down routine every 6-7 hits when they have to pause to help you up cuz you can’t stay alive between healing cds, perhaps you are the true leeches. After all if you know you can’t stay up long why omonoms over dps or defense consumables? Is that looking out for your team?
There are some AMAZING players in every class, some of you need to face it~ you may not be one of them no matter how closely you copy their build, or use their lingo.
Flexibility is a good thing for all classes to be, not just those you expect “nonstop support” from.
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
So you don’t want to dps and you don’t want to buff, and you don’t want to take advantage of buffs of others, and you don’t want to help res others, and you don’t want others to help res you, and… why should anyone take you into their group again, because you basically admit that your build is useless for everyone but other rangers? Why don’t you just create “rangers only” group and enjoy your awesome ranged buffs.
No. I don’t want to hear B.S. about rangers & other medium armor classes to be at fault when players that live in a fantasy world want a scapegoat to hide behind the fact, that although the math is there for certain “elite squads to accomplish” efficiency the MAJORITY of those here complaining about “support classes” failing to give them what they want, in reality is they themselves are not actually contributing the same numbers in the equation as true elite glass cannon built party players do. Even the BEST squad of solid players will not make it to max potential efficiency every run or even close. So their whole blame game is as ridiculous as some of the things mentioned in my replies to others. It’s all magique on papier, but let’s be real about the usual applications of ALL people in the party. I can do everything absolutely perfect as support, it doesn’t mean every “dps” wannabe will know how to use it. They can do everything perfect, it doesn’t mean the other dps or gaurdians are going to be as solid, therefore their argument is B.S. witch hunting.
I am a ranger….
I’ll just say it’s rangers like you that give the class a bad reputation, and the kind of pug nobody ever wants to see in their parties. Not all rangers are like that, some are actually great players.
LMAO rangers like me? Why because I am aware that MOST of those that build glass cannons are not solid enough players & are extremely demanding, unfair, & high maintenance egos that 8/10 is inflated? Maybe it’s because I am tired of hearing people put rangers on the back burner as useless dps when the majority of us come prepared to support whatever the situation calls for~ even after sitting in LFG for 45minutes watching other parties with NO RANGERS ALLOWED fill up & move out.
This game gives all classes some defense skills & helpful consumables as well & it’s fine if they want to sacrifice those options for higher dps for the party, but just cuz a honda civic can go as fast as a porsche doesn’t it mean it handles like one & certainly not everyone knows how to drive the latter to get the most out of it no matter how much they stomp their feet & yell in the forums blaming the “support classes” for their inability to admit they just aren’t as OP as they think they are.
Let’s deal with reality & admit, not all of you live up to your individual hype ^^ If being able to make that distinction & voice it among the sheeple makes me a terrible ranger to have in your fantasy squad so be it.
“sperge or not” rangers main weapon in this game are bows & our traits & damage are increased as we are further from the target or not?
Every dungeon run & every FoM want us to play like chanters of AION. Buff grp, heal grp, use 50% of your limited skill options to enhance THEIR playing experience or time frame wishes. Meanwhile they are going to ostracise your class in LFGS & down talk your dps in the forums & make guilds that say zero medium armor/rangers welcome etc etc. Is that not sperge?
I am all for grp effort, but it goes both ways. The wannabe elitist wants to shine their brightest & want me to polish their nobs with my “support skills” while they dps & play their toon as always then turn around & say how great they were & tell us about every crit they hit lol as if they didn’t have support to keep them up & running & enhanced. Like they would have survived or dps that consistently without the viagra “support players” contributed~ well spurt dps-downed zerker guy- 2 others stop dps to rez downed guy (with his MF food & only indivdualised dps skills slotted)-spurt dps rinse repeat is not exactly the most efficient approach^^
GRP effort requires the almighty dps to make a few concessions as well, in the name of the team. Things like appropriate consumables & building themselves in a manner that doesn’t require a full time bebe sitter & diaper changer will result in pretty much the same goal being reached with the average squads~ finish the run in an efficient timely manner without outrageous repair bills.
Just because many of the “dps are built to elite specs” doesn’t mean they are solid enough to play those specs, so instead of blaming the perceived “support” why not address the real issue~ the “pretenders” of the “dps” class?
Does this ostracizing actually exist, or is it a myth based on kittenty players getting kicked?
Here is my experience. I do a lot of speed clear and I like high level fractals. I see a lot of competent rangers using sword or GS. Does the bowbear with 450 APs get kicked from level 50 fractals? Yes. Does the s/w ranger with 10k AP get kicked from a CoF speed clear? Never going to happen. Not one single time have I ever been kicked from a dungeon speed clear. Not ONCE.
Yes it sadly does really exist. I have not played this game a year yet so I only have 7200 achieves, which doesn’t even reflect FoM or any dungeon run competency or lack of in the first place. If I have 10k achieves maybe I got them from two other toons I built before ever buliding a ranger. These are not reliable sources to measure player run knowledge.
I am not being biased or malicious by pointing out something that others shamelessly say in their lfgs “NO RANGERS” is completely their demands not my “imagination”. They kick if you even try to sneak in & they have 2 guards 2 warriors or w.e. for FoM 26 for example lol c’mon it is a 26 not a 50. Forget speed runs or anything that they don’t require a “cleric/spirit MELEE” ranger for. Heaven forbid it takes them 2 minutes longer to steady DPS a run than to allow rangers to join & play the game lol
I am happy to hear you have never been kicked, but you represent the filet mignon of rangers, not the hamburger. Yes I prefer bows, because I AM A RANGER (BTW I HATE bears ^^), but I do have every other weapon available in case a run I choose or an odd squad requires a different approach.
The issue isn’t getting kicked because I failed mid run or something, the issue is they put 30 million hoops up just in order for me to join a party. Only 1-2 that don’t care about what class fills in their party compared to 15+ that say “HELL NO~ RANGERS are useless.”
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
I am a ranger NOT a cleric for those dps baddies that wear attack food/mf food over other more useful options. Like you stated it is a GRP effort. Me rolling in from ranged to drop my heals for others leaving myself with ZERO heal as I roll back to my game range (then being looked upon as weak when my hp drops & I am downed & DPS is lost as they run to rez me instead of letting my pet do it lol)~ send pets in & use spirits when needed for the team while I go max range to get best out of my dps values giving up all my slots for others is not ranger at all. It would be different if the content supported rangers as they should be, but the truth is MANY DPS have the elite attitude that they should be catered to & that because the game content allows for melee to be so greedy & selfish that it is the rangers job to take it up the butt & be at their beck & call. How is that fair to expect 100% of the time? Is that “team work?” O.o but it may take 5 extra minutes to kill the boss if we actually allow rangers to play RANGED from time to time LMAO~ yah the selfish players you refer to are those demanding everyone build/play the dungeons to support those who do not want to be responsible in keeping themselves alive, nor do they want to meet rangers or others half way by utilising both an attk/def food. No no~ their mf & desires are more important ^^ I don’t get to use mf food most of the time, I don’t benefit from banners or guards buffs when I am ranged & if I am melee 100% of the time then I am not a ranger at all. Your expectations are bit lopsided ^^ How about everyone go ranged & share their goodies with the rangers? AHAHHAHAHHAHH You want the dungeon runs fast, which is fine, but some of us are here to play the toons we chose, yet no matter how much we rangers sacrifice using junk spirits that do nothing for us & keeping certain pets passive so they can run in & survive drop regen or w.e for squad, we still get judged & told how are dps sucks donkey balls & you all carry us. Well our best DPS & evasion is max range. If I want a melee toon 100% of the time I would have a warrior. Rangers support parties in many ways at a great loss to their own play styles & dps, yet it is NEVER appreciated because it isn’t measure in DPS directly contributed.
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
It’s quite forward. As soon as content becomes more difficult the heavy classes have the tools to deal with it and the medium armor classes don’t. Medium classes can deal with it if they dodge and evade perfectly but odds on they won’t. Rangers needs pets alive to get full value from traits and utilities and as soon as the content is difficult the pet is either not pulling it’s weight or not alive. Utilities are often weak and do not form versatile builds. Missile defense is awful. The class role as a ranged damage dealer is not fully delivered but there isn’t enough utility and trait support for melee either (compare rangers to warriors).
Well said.
The truth is, for me, rangers in this game feel more like very low quality bargain basement knock off of the chanters from AION mixed with the an even lower quality knock off of venomancers from PWI & very very very small amount of archer/ranger.
An entoruage of spirits & uncontrollable dead pets cluttering the screen & nothing in the game that requires max range dmg to kill faster. There simply are not enough skill slots available to make rangers work well enough to compete with classes that the game content favours.
I love my bows & I love my traps yet in this game I am penalised for using them or I must invest double the time of hvy/light players to participate in daily farming content as a ranger.
So many forced traits spots wasted including pets that don’t dodge agony or aoes like their masters, they just stand there in any circle they can find, or pop out of passive hiding landing smack kitten first in your face if you take a lil fall dmg in a JP .
I have met only a handful of truly impressive rangers in GW2 & even those moments were extremely situational. Average playing rangers like myself eventually hit a fork in the road to reroll another class or find a game that rangers are rangers & not some hodge podge of mediocracy that are forced to give up more time & resources than hvy/light classes because the content doesn’t include them in practical ways. Well, I have a warrior, a mes, & a guard, but I am at heart a ranger so they are currently high level storage units. Give it a few more months & try acouple of sgst mentioned here & see if the relationship grows healthier or if this game simply is not feasible for rangers like me to play in. =)
Nowhere in that paragraph did you talk about the OMG ITS SO EPIC! ITS OVER 9000! damage that Rangers can do. Groups only care about Zerkers and dealing as much damage in as short of time as possible.
Healing Power, Toughness, and Vitality are all not as effective on a point for point tradeoff as Power, Precision, or Condition Damage is. Rangers also recieve only half the damage increase from Power as other classes would because of the pet, so those groups do have a point, Zerker’s rule! (as long as they aren’t rangers!)
(…and Not that I agree with that, I use Magi gear almost exclusively now, regardless of what other people say, since some pets with 25 stacks of might and the appropriate traits in Skirmishing and Beastmastery can deal alot more damage, and survive longer than pretty much anything else)
What you say is true, but also other party members that go down & are struggling to get back up forcing the rest of their squad to stop & rez aren’t contributing consistent nonstop dmg & actually bring their totals down. So really what is the difference of having a medium armor class that does steady consistant dmg or a party of “spurt down spurt”? I am not talking of “elite organised parties” because truth is they are really few in comparison to average parties that prereq as if they are elite, yet are barely avg players themselves.
This link will give you the reasons why there’s so much hatred towars rangers in PVE.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/The-sad-truth-about-RangersCurrently the meta in PVE is about stacking in corners to LoS mobs in melee range while wearing full berserker gear. This is just the opposite of what the vast majority of the rangers enjoy to do. Instead they like to stay at max range doing poor damage and sitting comfortably on their healing springs while not giving any buffs to their team mates nor reciving any from them. Also the pet AI feels a bit slow and can mess up with some bosses like jade maw and if your pet dies you lose a chunk of your damage.
However, rangers can be a great adition to any party if they go melee and bring spotter and frost spirit. This is harder to do with a ranger because sword animations root you and make you bounce all over the place but it can be mastered nontheless. The devs have said that sword is working as intended.
Hope I helped you.
I see so it is more about the convenience of the squad with zero regard to the fact many of us rangers come prepared to those runs with our aoe traps etc. They feel their shortcut can only be preserved by prejudging medium armor as a whole? Our bows still work in melee range (if a player chooses not to equip a melee weap) in those situations & our aoe pets or heal/protection pets make up for what dmg we don’t directly contribute~ so this really doesn’t seem like a well thought out reason for so many to adapt to totally ostracise medium armor players. Thank you so much for reply, if it is a simple case of community ignorance & bandwagon jumping then rangers & other medium armors can wait the lil popularity trend out. Much easier than waiting for devs to let us know if others are accurate assesing us as a whole "useless’.
While I do not take personal offence that other’s in the community don’t desire medium armor, especially rangers, in their dungeon or FoM parties & in some servers their guild lol~ the trend is becoming more than a mere annoyance kitten much time is wasted standing waiting for LFG group to form as I watch 5-10 others fill n go that want ZERO rangers. Devs why is this? Why do players feel they are “carrying” rangers in FoM or dungeons to such an extreme they ostracize us as a whole even on already easy/fast runs? Are you aware this is going on? Are those that participate in leaving rangers out or kicking us as soon as we join a squad because of our class wrong in some huge way? Is there some secret power we hold that no other class can do better?
We are so middle of the road ~ we have a lil of everything, but master nothing. Nobody feels they need us & therefore have zero desire to include us & some that do sit & remind us how they are “carrying us”.
So are the medium classes just that useless~ are the others really just that more OP & begging to be nerfed down to our level, or are they ignorant as a community to the benefits of medium armor classes & what we can bring to the run? What in the Devs mind do you think we can bring without having to retrait after every room/boss?
I really would like to know what others think. If you are a player that likes to boot medium armor or simply request anything except for rangers &/or medium armor~ why? Tell the devs why as a community there are so many of you forming guilds & squads for heavy & light armor ONLY or leaving us medium armor toons out of the game~ so they can fix it. I am not ranting or judging, I am just looking for what I, as an average playing ranger, can improve upon in order to play the game in a normal amount of time without having to jump through 30 million hoops to impress upon others I am carrying my own & Im not just there to rez those warriors & others that insist upon wearing berserker to everything yet can’t get themselves up. This situation can be fixed if its a misunderstanding, & if it is indeed mechanics etc then tell the devs why rangers suck in your eyes.
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
rangers are already middle of the road dps so by nerfing endurance you are making us even weaker as we need to dodge roll so often & the trait to do more damage with endarance full will be obsolete.
o.O Jin you did make out well! Gratz =)
I understand your frustration. You have a bunch of XP and Kill Streak boosters, which has like a 20-25% chance to get one of them in every chest, and you are mad as heck that you aren’t seeing the rarer items like the contracts. And by denying you extra keys for something you don’t care of like skin tickets/scraps you feel that it’s a money grab.
I’m not attacking you, I’m just trying to talk some sense as to why what you suggest will never happen. Keys have gone from a common to rare drop to make room for skin tickets/scraps, whose purpose is to sell more keys. Boosters and common one time use items will always be the majority of what gets dropped from a chest. And when you do get something uncommon it will likely be a BL salvage kit or one of those laughable gathering tools.
And as of right now, for the cost of roughly 225 keys when bought with gold, roughly 800g, you can buy those two contracts off the TP right now. That’s around $325 in gold bought with gems bought with cash. That’s your alternative. Playing “scratch tickets” hoping for a one or pony up the gold. Just putting it into perspective.
1. I have no emotional attachment to keys, boxes, or the items inside.
2. I 100% understand how gambling boxes work, as do any other players that ever played PWI or GW2s sister AION. ^^
3. You are underestimating the staff here if you think changes to the mall products will never happen. This staff has gone to bat for players on more than one occasion & in my personal opinion~ the only way we tie their hands is by not giving our opinions at all on various products. They cannot always ask for certain changes even if they see it could be different/better, if they don’t have our voice behind it. It is alot easier for them to get their superiors to adapt their ideas if those players whether in game gold gem buyers or cash gem buyers make the product high repeat demand. That includes removing or lowering the rng rates on items like kill streak boosters.
If you are sincere in you quest to gain insight to my lack of sense you are welcome to track some of the trends @ http://global.ncsoft.com/global/ir/structure.aspx.
Anet/GW2 cannot live up to it’s potential without player support. They cannot please NCsoft if spenders don’t repeat spend. So after glancing that , do you still think Anet/GW2 is so inflexible they would ignore the concerns or perceived concerns of their players? You think they wouldn’t go to bat for their product to get as many resources from the pool as possible? Do you think they want to be the next NCSoft tax write off? Do you still believe it is players that have the only thing to lose if things get stagnate even over a perceived mundane gambling keybox boobie prize selection?
IDK maybe you are right & nothing an average cash spender like me says will make a difference. Maybe writing & expression are not my BIGGEST flaws hehehe. Either way I am glad you came back & cleared up the misunderstanding & I do apologise if I came across unfairly about your opinions. I do say though that I really hope you are wrong about our inability to influence change You can be right about everything except that :P
Not sure if this would apply here, but would really like to see some “gem sales” or reward system (nothing grandiose) a few times a year for gem buyers. If can’t afford to do that how about a couple days a year where if we purchase gems a small portion goes to a national or international charity like feed the children or something like that? Not sure if your business could use that as a tax write off, but it couldn’t hurt when seeking potential sponsors or enticing new spenders to try out the mall for a good cause.
I would like:
1. monthly or fortnight coupons sold that offset some if not all of the TP selling fees.
2. mini pets that could be used for storage or as auto looters (the kind that auto loot anything that drops & i don’t have to push any button or mouse each time).
3. Mounts would be great! Flying as well (I know this one isn’t a simple just add to the mall, but I do so love them ^^)
4. A commander tag dye pack, would be nice for all. If commanders could change the colours of their tag, it could allow more commanders to tag up & carry out various missions simultaneously with a lot less confusion.
5. more fashion/skins for armor
6. Harvest tools be account bound (same fashion as the mf) so it is on all without having to swap all the time.

Now looking at that wall of text that was your 2nd post. You seem to believe that the Chest’s primary purpose is to provide more keys and scraps. As much as I admit I enjoyed cascading one key into opening several chests it only became an issue when they introduced scraps and tickets. Think this through. People weren’t buying keys because the chest contains mostly uninteresting stuff. As for tonics, who cares? Oh I’m a chair. Oh, I’m an imp. Oh, I’m a tree. But I digress. So they add skin tickets and scraps to up demand (oh boy did it up demand) in keys so why would they keep the free key chance the same now?
So now I get it. Your complaint is that you want skins and feel it’s unfair that the odds of getting a ticket or skin is relatively small in relation to all the stuff the chests have always contained, most you consider junk, even though tickets and scraps have only been added recently. I think the argument is better directed at the conversion rate of scraps to tickets and tickets to skins because scraps are never going to be a one in two shot with an extra key tossed in for good measure.
I know it can be aggravating not getting what you think you should be getting out of blind box governed by a RNG you should know by now that your odds are slim and that we are talking about opening hundreds of chests on average to get enough scraps and tickets for a single skin. And unless you enjoy milking keys out of the human person story, those keys will cost you either real money, $1.05 – 1.57 each , or an ever increasing amount of gold, 4-6g each, depending on quantity bought at once.

Yah~ I am NOT INTO SKINS AT ALL. I do believe I said trying for the perma tp/banker if you really must know. Scraps were mentioned because Anet/GW2 recently said they chose that rng to be tweaked & lower/replace the key reroll which are much better to many than some of the other items that have extremely HIGH rng in the chests. So in short I am here stating I would rather have key rerolls untouched over some of the boosters could be lowered to make room for scraps.
Honestly, I am not understanding your motivation. Are you saying I am illogical to point out there were potentially better/different options for scraps to replace? Or are you truely happy with things exactly as they are & are here defending it’s safety from possible change? Everyone else who joined the convo whether they agreed or disagreed with me expressed their own opinion of what THEY found useful or liked/disliked.
I get it, you don’t like me, but you have yet to contribute anything helpful to Anet or players as far as solutions or ideas or even what you like or dislike with the current state of affairs. All you have done is act condescending & shown your kitten without shame to pick my post apart piece by piece with no particular goal…
You feel you can say it all better, super! Give me your email & next time I decide I want to make a post I will use you as my secretary, writing & expression are the slowest part of my recovery & I really could use someone else to do it for me so I don’t have to put myself out there to be unjustly ridiculed or belittled by trolls that see poor writing indicative of stupidity & inability to have valuable input. I will even pay you what I don’t spend in gems ^,^
Fine, let’s look at your OP in detail shall we. And it wasn’t grammer, simply a little white space adds to readability. How many, like me simply read the first line or two of your reply and simply moved on from the wall of text?
I am touched by your concern, so worried about others & if they are interested enough or not in the topic to read my poor presentation.
Obviously you don’t like what was put in it but you didn’t say what exactly is ticking you off. What do you think it should be dropping instead. What was manipulated negatively, other than keys that you though should be dropping? Can’t be scraps and tickets because they just added scraps and tickets.
I believe by many of the other opinions here, that others understood the content I was talking about the fact there were other rngs to manipulate to fit scraps into the equation & that they chose key rerolls to be downsized rather than something like tonics or some of the boosters. If the lowered the rng of some other item in order to make room for the scraps it would have been better for all, & if they removed these particular boosters no1 truely would have felt an earth shaking difference in their gaming experience especially the kill streak booster. Let’s be honest it is a non grind game so really how many alts wear these booster & kill the mobs over & over again to level up vs those who do the story quests & a variety of other “non mob killing” things that boosters don’t affect? ^^ Do you thinking lowering the rng of those particular boosters that can be bought for less gems than gambling boxes will really impact those players leveling ability? Are the demand for them so great? Heck I really don’t mind getting them if they weren’t ACCOUNT BOUND, then I could help those players out by selling them dirt cheap in the TP along with the millions of other PvE exp boosters that would find their way out of bankers & into the TP.
White space please?
We don’t feel that items like XP boosters are essential but they are there if those players want them. Why take them away? Your point seems to be since they and other items at the Gem shop aren’t useful for you and/or you think they cost too much they should be removed since they are a ripoff. Who are you again and why your opinion trump all others?
You do realize that the purpose of the gem shop is to generate income with the sale of Gems for cash. Nobody is holding a gun to you head and forcing you to buy anything there.
Attacking my lack of proper writing skill doesn’t excuse the over dramatic tone you are using with my post. I am assuming you didn’t bother to read it because you prefer perfect grammar & presentation over content & intention . Had you read it you would have seen my admission it was an individual opinion & how I am a small fish in a very big pond. Most would interpret that to mean I am aware of how little I contribute financially compared to others :P
Your implying consumers should give no feedback on products ~just to spend blindly or don’t spend at all ~doesn’t solve anything for anyone involved. Yes, this is a business that does indeed need to generate income but I always understood the gems I sold to other players were used by them in the gem shop , is there somewhere in game they use those gems for or something that I don’t know about? ^^ They need paying consumers. This is their livelihood it is just our hobby & maybe they appreciate the warnings that they may lose a lil monthly income. Perhaps, my opinion is something valid then again perhaps it is B.S. but at the end of the day they want to make money & not all consumers are just throwing temper tantrums so knowing GW2/Anet they will consider various opinions & scenarios before doing anything, they are professional like that. They are actually pretty good at sifting through the emotions in opinions & seeing if a complaint or suggestion has merit or not without taking poor grammar or bad presentation as a useless opinion or wallet of lesser value compared to those who are perfect. In case you weren’t aware of that knowledge they possess it is basic business 101 ^^
Maybe this particular game makes enough selling NON gambling items like bank expansions. I really don’t know what their overhead or profit margins are. That is their business.
My explanation of why I CHOOSE to spend money on the game was for them to use how they see fit, even if that means it’s toilette papier. Perhaps improving sales means keeping things the way they are~ lose a portion of one consumer monthly spending maybe gain 10 others or improvement can mean losing too many average consistent consumers will hurt & a lil reassessing may be in order. Again that is their job to review & decide which one holds true to their particular formula. They cannot get the best out of their investments if we all just stay quiet & stop spending. It can be helpful if they avoid that, because once you lose the interest of repeat spenders it is very difficult to entice them back. If too many do as you suggest & just don’t spend because they don’t like the product that means in game players that buy gems are SoL too as gem prices will go even higher as their are less sellers.
So please I beg your forgiveness, for attempting to communicate to the business I built a relationship with that things are feeling a bit rocky. Your financial relationship with them is your business & may not be anything like mine. Yes, I could be imagining the rockiness, but that is for them to decide not you, unless ofc you are an employee & my opinion is adversely affecting your payday.

So those of you here that feel the exp boosters are so essential to casual players leveling ability, truly feel they would require the rate of those particular booster to be higher than scraps, key rerolls & tonics among other things? When there are consumables in the game that can be used for costume brawl what does anyone need with 1k of them from chests? How many exp boosters do new players really require to make it from 0-80 wearing one every hour they play? PvE exp is a GIVEN in this game & to have the rng of PvE exp boosters set to where players get over 100 backed up in their banks pretty much shows they are not needed or else they would never accumulate so many.
Perhaps I over exaggerated with loosely saying “useless” instead of bad value, but at the end of the day from my individual wallets percpective it is valid to say that the rng of keys for rerolls being replaced by scraps instead of just altering the rng of scrap drops on their own, leaving the reroll keys in place &adjusting the rng of other items like these particular boosters would have been more friendly to real money investors as well as ingame players or at least tone those two down & make ones for enhancements like running, hp regeneration etc higher. There truly is a a very low number to how many PvE exp boosters any account needs.
It is not as well balanced as it could be.
I love the staff here & is why I personally choose to spend money on the game, while I am very aware the amount is not much in the scheme of things, I am running out of justifications for supporting it with real money when all I am left with is to sell gems for gold.
The new key packs while exciting , just aren’t enticing when my odds of getting more & more PvE exp boosters & tonics than anything useful is like just handing them money. At least before I could say "it’s ok that 700th tonic came with a key I get another shot at the perma item I seek.
It is not good for business when I can sell the gems & buy what I want in game rather than gold sink a few into gambling boxes, that means I spend LESS real money if any because there are zero mistakes as what my money will buy, whereas before I would buy a few extra gems to get some keys~ I was willing to accept a few boobie prizes before gambling for the empty dream of acquiring the perma items like TP/Banker etc~ even a frivolous spender like me can’t ignore the house is taking advantage a little too much in this instance.
If they continue to alter this product with total disregard to the consumers it forces consumers into only spend exactly what is needed instead of getting a few more gems to gamble with or just stop spending at all to avoid the headaches.
I am not saying my ideas fit every player, they represent my gaming experience & therefore are just an opinion. I just honestly feel the imbalance is too great to ignore any longer as they alter other items before these particular ones.
Nobody that spends real money to get the keys likes being forced to destroy hundreds of tonics (aka throwing real money away) etc to make bank space on top of accepting the other boobie prizes that are necessary to protect the value of the rarer ones & make a solid profit to maintain the overhead. I will never use all those boosters or tonics, even if they raise the cap tomorrow to 120 or made some achievement that upped the amount of costume brawls I would spend game time on. I am here expressing my opinion as a consumer, & if Anet & other players disagree with me it is ok, it just let’s me know I was completely wrong & therefore I should keep 100% of my real money in my wallet based on I have no clue & it is very possible I am out of touch with the average consumer. There are more than enough consumers to keep the lights on & contribute towards expansions. If I feel I must throw money around, the casino is just down the road from me & I know I don’t spend enough to affect Anet adversely if I pulled my monthly spending. I am one small fish in a very big pond. If it is their desire that I farm keys in game over buying them, that is what I will do~ I honestly have no problem with that option.
Thank you all for the honest feedback, it is nice to see the diverse players representing what items mean to them.

Remove XP & Kill Streak Boosters from Black Lion’s Chest
The PvE xp boosters are 100% USELESS in a game that has zero exp death penalties & a complete new casual player can come in & get to lvl cap in two weeks using consumables & just doing map explore & story quests. It is one thing to add items, but to manipulate the rates or to replace keys with scraps over other items that are 100% useless is a rip off. No one needs 1 of those boosters let alone 100s. There are enough other gold sink boobie prizes in the chests, such as the endless tonics, the mystery tonics, & the tiny bags of coin & many of the account bound crap. You added a nice new 25 key package, but the product is getting worse especially when considering a key is valued at about 3g. Please in the future be a little more fair to the consumers.

Our keep in Gandara has been doing this since yesterday. The WP & for some players simply running inside the keep.
No longer watching this post.
Many here are jumping on the wagon to “teach this ignorant OP a lesson” yes yes it takes so many of you to silence one voice ^^ I am so jealous of your strong spines & that is exactly what is needed to pull an already bully filled bandwagon
If Anet had created the dueling system these & other confusing encounters resulting in discord among the community wouldn’t exist. In its place would be the average player drama of who “cheated” & used a skill they all said you can’t use, you know those silly rules they create like telling a sin, “it isn’t fair for you to use stealth qq^^”
Instead here we are bickering with each other & all sorts of attacks & speculation & no solutions or assurance you have control or boundaries within of the dueling system you created which hardly promotes good intentions to all in the community only protects the “no rules” of those that participate in fight club. That is a mistake of inexperience & short term thinking, & why most games don’t let players attempt to run away with such things that they themselves are capable of creating in a more appropriate & community healthy manner, if they so desired.
At this time Anet is silent on the issue, perhaps they are working on a viable solution & require the patience of the rest of the community . Maybe not. Either way I said I would respect their answer & they gave one for now.
For the sake of peace I will refrain from utilizing my rights to sneak into the camp via the base back roads & to avoid the guessing game of my sever mates intentions I will refrain from assisting any of my server mates from any battle that are not organised.
I will give up my content so you can continue to have your fake duel system of zero value & shallow laughs. I will avoid your bullying tactics so you can have more energy & snarl to use on others. I am sure I am not the first nor will I be the last you abuse for your amusement
A side note to TDS I already explained how our misunderstanding got out of control & I apologized for calling you guys spies among other ignorant things I said. Believe it or not players do encounter other players in that area & they are not all respectful as you guys tried to be. I even said that very day as far as my death was concerned I had no issue with the fact SNAP killed me. You were just one of several misunderstandings I encountered before I knew of this “unofficial spot” or that regular duels took place there, & the straw that broke the camels back that sent me seeking info before submitting a ticket. OFC after I saw the info you being there in the manner you were two days in a row made sense & therefore I had no ticket to submit. I referred to your guild NAMELESS as an example of some of the encounters that added to my confusion. Not to attack your guild tag.
Some of you duelers here mad on me for discussing a few of the issues I encountered seem uninterested & passive with what some of your participants are doing under the guise of “duel zone”, which undermine many facets of the community & the very reputation you are bullying many to “respect”. Threatening to allow enemies to stomp players of your respective home server or personally choosing to ridicule them if they attack the enemy in their mists that holds the camp & then turning around after you get your desire of being left alone to have your fun, watch that very enemy that was spared on your behalf come & defend the camp anyway~ can easily be misconstrued as some form of conspiracy or w.e. form of point manipulation can be obtained from setting players on your own server up to fail.
This unfair expectation potentially puts me & others between a rock & a hard place. Do we kill the opponents who own the camp to ensure they don’t take advantage of the situation, with the risque of creating bad blood with fellow server mates or do we gamble with our game time etc? Or do we try to be courteous & trust our server mate & refrain from attacking in case that enemy will exercise integrity & stay in the unofficial duel zone we left them alive in?
How is that not a conflict of interest? How is that not stealing from your server mates game time? How does that strengthen trust that is necessary to carry other WvW content out later on? Oh fight clubbers can fall back on tears of “it’s not my fault I can’t control what the enemy does”.
Some of you act as if I am committing some form of crime for questioning the validity of something the game itself did not set up or promote. Some of you seem amazed & dumbfounded I could’t figure out what was going & just get with “your program”. Yet from my limited gaming experience via a handful of fantasy mmo games I have played to their endgame content, not one of them had dueling available in the war zones. Not PWI, not FW, not Cabal, not Aeria, not Aion. The simple fact that while dueling systems are not new to the mmo world, GW2 CHOSE to add NOTHING as far as a dueling systems at the moment. They have their structured sPvP & they have their mass player PvP. Dueling is neither of those & does not fit in a war zone environment. You don’t want to accept Gw2 doesn’t have a dueling system, yet you want others to accept your version of it & go to great lengths to bully & undermine the community & other content to to protect your claim that your rights are more valuable than all others involved. You are attacking community members for something that is not even part of the product, yet I am the dumb evil kitten for asking management instead of blindly jumping on & supporting something the game itself did not announce. Edward Bernays pulls your strings from the grave lol.
The generic form of duel system that players created here not only harbors some exploiters, it also promotes drama, ridicule, misunderstandings & can potentially divide a community who see WvW zone from the advertised & promoted standards. It isn’t an “event” & is hardly an acceptable replacement for a developer created duel system that has checks & balances.
Not one of you asked me for the name of the three players involved in that incident. Not one of you said O.o mail us the name so we can remind them of our fight club standards in regards to interactions
I don’t know of any player created content that is supported by a game that condones or allow player created content to represent their game that allows one portion of the community to run all over the rest with total disregard to other players rights. Many of the posts here illustrate that & further show the fight club crowd feels entitled & above the ToS when content & zones they feel belong only to them & no others.
The fact you will attack rather than admit their are weaknesses in your creation & are not open to conversation in those regards, you offer no assurances that you yourselves will take responsibility for any exploiters you may “accidentally” vouch for shows you lack the integrity & the foresight that is necessary to troubleshoot & find solutions for any players or content that are affected by your addition. Your smooth running totally relies on forced sacrifices made by everyone to avoid that area & give it to you. The enforcer of your standards is pure bandwagon rally & verbally attack or make them miserable until compliance is gotten.
I don’t even feel like dignifying this idiocy with a response but here goes. They have the “authority” to do anything they want in their game. They want to make money and have been good at that. Players who duel do spend money on their game and would not have as much of an interest in a game that didn’t allow them to have fun. And I’m simply pointing out how ridiculously stupid of you it is to ask them for “support” on something like this. Should I start a thread about whether or not Anet “supports” sitting on a wall all day and only ever attacking other players with arrow carts? That would actually make more sense than your thread now that I think about it…. Now try to make a logical statement for once in your life please. Matter of fact, don’t. That seems to be what you trying to do now. :S
Yes you speak only of those who are having “fun dueling”. None of the money players spent is towards dueling. They spend money on other items for other areas of the game, there is nothing in the mall for “dueling” in the manner they have set up.
Just as many, if not more players that do not duel whether they are for it or against it, spend money, yet you refuse to acknowledge their idea of fun to sneak up on camps or play WvW as described in the advertising that is supported by Anet are undeserving of a voice or an opinion. That they need to adapt to those players that are forcing content & social rules otherwise be ridiculed & pay repair bills that not even the duelers pay, when they accidentally or unintentionally run into a duel that they had no clue that content existed. You are implying that the fight club is the only voice that counts & Anet will lose soo much money if they don’t let fight club have it exactly their way with no boundaries. Meglomaniacs FTW. Not willing to respect other players or compromise through Anet. Not one of you has said you would respect any official decision Anet may or may not come to. Not one of you asked them please to make some form of announcement so players that come across your fight club will understand it’s purpose or value. You want to compare apple to oranges & aren’t seriously discussing the pros or cons of PLAYER CREATED & PLAYER RAN event such as this that affects alot more than those people wanting to duel, & guess who is left to deal with the reports? The staff works for free right?
I am dumber than many here~ that doesn’t mean I can’t ask Anet a question. Perhaps you are incapable of understanding the value of Anet making it clear to the WHOLE community what is & isn’t allowed as far as this trending “fight club”~ After boredom sets in then the next liberty will be taken & pushed onto the community by a select few. It will become a never ending cycle of “well you let so n so do such n such” & they lose control of their product all together as a few customers feel entitled to hijack & take the game in a direction they desire “cuz its fun for them, & they will bully any players that find it an interruption to their definition of fun.” If Anet runs or supports duels on their terms or fight clubs that is great & the community can adapt, but if players are going to continue to run & enforce it with ridicule & BS & unfair expectations & demands for the community to bow down to them & it’s inconsistencies without recognising the damage it is doing, then no I don’t see it as anything more than a divider.
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
Look people again I have no issue with dueling. I am asking Anet to commit to an official stance on the issue~ say the spot is the designated spot or for them to lay out community guidelines that duelers & non duelers can mutually respect. You want the community to respect your definition of fun, & the community wants to avoid potential misunderstandings. The misunderstanding I alluded to are not the only ones that occur, there are those that feel dueling in this manner undermines the whole structure & purpose of WvW for various reasons. Why are some of you so upset to have clarification from Anet?
Is it bad for the community for Anet to take control & end this issue? If they condone it then the issue is over. If they agree partially & make some changes or rules, the issue is over. If they say it is a no go at this juncture in their content plans then guess what~ again the issue is over. So why don’t we stop picking at eachother & wait for them to speak? You want to be active or influence their thoughts on it, show them the positives via a SGST that other fight clubbers will support or add to or other community members can say what they don’t like about it & why.
Coming in this particular thread addressed to Anet & picking my kitten apart is only showing them it is causing negative drama & forcing their backs into the wall. My asking for Anets stance over accepting what some players say is allowed & agreeable or taking the other side that says “heck no duels should not be allowed in wvw”~ is irresponsible how?
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
You do realize no one is getting banned over something this stupid, right? No announcement of a “temporary official spot” is going to stop people from messing it up and with or without an announcement from the fight club police, people are going to find ways to duel on their own. Again, Anet will not throw the money either side is giving them down the drain because someone was buttmad about getting killed in WvW.
ahh so you are saying this issue is dividing the community? ^^
Not really. No one cares about it to anywhere near the buttmad level you’re at. The hell would it matter either way? People who like to pvp and people who like to zerg are going to think differently. Anet still wants them all to play their game.
Your insight to my question of Anet is so spot on & your total bad boy rebel attitude has me rethinking my whole approach to asking Anet their opinion on the matter. You are so right, they do not deserve the communities respect, & their word & authority is just for show. Undermining their authority is such a compliment for us to bestow on them. Yes, yes you are so right, these games are not revolving doors of consumers & that 60$ they already have of mine will be given back if they disagree with what I say here.. How dare I take the time to ask them, I should be more like many here & assume I have the right to do whatever I want with their product, screw what furture plans Anet has or what they think of all this, maybe they really like fight club & are at this very moment creating fight club boosters to sell in the mall…. LOL they have our money already, & any money given in support of the mall, while some may come from those who like to duel, none of it promotes or makes money from dueling itself. So speaking of money division is not a good argument supporting fight club~ try again. Players that spend in the mall spend ZERO on fight club items. What is you issue with someone asking Anet directly?
You do realize no one is getting banned over something this stupid, right? No announcement of a “temporary official spot” is going to stop people from messing it up and with or without an announcement from the fight club police, people are going to find ways to duel on their own. Again, Anet will not throw the money either side is giving them down the drain because someone was buttmad about getting killed in WvW.
ahh so you are saying this issue is dividing the community? ^^
Dueling is freakin’ great, especially the Aurora Glade & Gandara tradition (which is why I wish we will remain in the same tiers for as long as possible).
Once you’ve played WvW for months and months and attained a fairly high skill level, you will look for a break from the usual zerging, a way to test your ability against the best players the other server has.
The people complaining about it will eventually be duelists themselves if they play long enough. It’s just a way to get even more enjoyment out of the game with no official WvW dueling option available. No harm done since atleast in the Aurora Glade & Gandara dueling guild the duels never take part in a queued borderland and the location is as far away from WvW action as possible.
This guy speaks well on your behalf fight club, maybe he should make a SGST to Anet to make that spot the “temporary official spot”.
Either way they decide~ something from them should be posted so we aren’t fighting against our server mates over this issue. The only way the majority of the community will know about what you fight clubbers are doing & that Anet does not feel it hampers any othe rWvW content or community peace, is if Anet posts it, & if for whatever reason they decide that it isnt a good idea at this juncture, then those of us that get hit by less than honourable fight clubbers have an avenue to send reports to. It also lets us that don’t participate know we won’t get surprised banned down the road for participating or what the official rules & conduct are for it.
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
The duelling spot is quite far away from the map and even if you take the “back door” into the camp, it’s perfectly possible to go nowhere near it.
While the first time might’ve been accidental, I’m going to go ahead and assume that the other times you were going to check out if it was happening again, and if so that you were there to disrupt it.It’s not an official thing, but it’s not against the TOS either, and the fact that you even suggest that it could be… lol. Just lol.
No I only go there for the camp. Why would I avoid sneaking in through that entrance? How was it I was supposed to know that was some “special spot”? Am I some forum junky that reads all players posts? When one solos or goes in a two man team they don’t always approach from the direction you decide for them. LOL at you for assuming players have the same rights as Anet when it comes to adding “unofficial content”. As far as I gather from the ToS only Anet/Gw2 has that authority & they can take away the content you rent with bans if you promote anything that interferes with that authority or their content….. Or is that the make believe part?
It is easy, Anet just has post their stance on the issue then everyone will know & it will be announced where ALL players can see when they login. How is getting their thoughts on the matter bad?
Maybe they announce the spot players suggested is fine & even remove that camp for a space to duel until they implement something more appropriate in the future.
Instead of attacking me & my question or my babble why aren’t you fight clubbers directing some positives to Anet & asking them to give u a temporary spot & announce it? You attacking me or w.e you want to call it, just supports my arguement that it causes drama ^^
I paid for my game, ya didnt buy it for me.
I will let the enemy kill everyone from my server if I please, while running around in my social clothes laughing and waving, if I please.
I make my own rules, not the other players.
If ya have a problem with people playing in a way, ya dont approve of, then to bad.Ya need to get a backbone and start doing stuff for yaself, ya posts make ya out as a guy who needs permission for everything.
You RENT space like the rest of us consumers. Where does it say in ToS that it is acceptable for players to not only create content, but designate a spot & punish or ridicule others who do not know about it or don’t wish to conform to it?
Dueling is possible, ergo it is part of the content. I’m pretty sure nobody gives a crap what anyone has to say about their “support” of it when all it’s intended for is fun… in a game… in the only place you can really do it within that game. It doesn’t require a stamp of approval you numbnuts and there will never be a report option entitled “dueling”. Maybe if you were a little smarter, you wouldn’t be messing up duels and having these things happen to you. Btw, those other people who kill you in the camp are playing by your rules. Don’t hate on them.
Games that promote & support dueling have dueling settings made especially for ALL members of the community to see there is a duel & they are timered. PWI, FW, Cabal, Aeria etc etc all have a dueling option which is different than their arena, pvp, GvG, nation or their forms of WvWvW.
The need for Anet support goes to the fact that if there is no official announcement condoning where & how the players have set it up that MANY of their OTHER consumers are clueless & will file tons of needless reports. If Anet steps forward & says yes fight club continue & posts it to their main forum announcements, then players will know it is an event & if any abuse it they can then submit tickets to Anet to resolve the issue. How is it not important to hav etheir official say on it?
(edited by ItWasntMe.7102)
@FrouFrou.4958 How is asking a question from the liable source acting like a victim? Who are you guys to “warn” anyone about unofficial player made dueling? You really have some audacity behaving like myself & others should take direction from you all in a situation the Anet hasn’t posted an official support of it. Did ANet clear the spot you all selected? Did they lay down some rules? Some form of guideline for the rest of the community to follow if they encounter this “fight club”? If they have & I missed it then please post the link. If not what you all are doing & how you are handling unsuspecting players that walk into it~ can be construed as against ToS.
Your method of “teaching us ignorant fight club crashers a lesson for ruining your fun” is setting us all up for failure in the longue run. You guys want to duel in peace then make an SGST to Anet & ask permission & for a place & for them to announce it officially. Don’t take it out on those of us trying to WvW We are supposed to be building strong server relationships so we support eachothers guild when playing WvW, not tearing each other apart over something that isn’t even in the game that is causing confusion.
Side note to you.
I am that dudette that you are speaking of. The day before I ran into your guild was only a few of you & I had no clue about the “unofficial dueling spot” & nor did you inform me that this was an ongoing event that was going to take place daily there etc. I didn’t come back to hit you that day & left you be. Last night, that mesmer was there before me, & was a guildy that got off work late & was racing to grab a last dolly at the camp to complete his daily with only 8 minutes to spare, he had NO IDEA about this “fight club” either & hit your guildies from the other server thinking the same thing as I did, that you were on your way to take the camp & they were trying to defend it…. When we realised you were just “dueling” again & he had sacrificed his daily to aid some TEAM members that didn’t want it. Then yah, we were mad.
It was partially the encounter I had with you last night & one that happened a few hours earlier with a different group that sent that mesmer to google where he found the post about the “unofficial dueling” & told me of it. Until that post I had no clue what was going on there. He had asked why I was so mad & I told him of all these “odd encounters” I was having there.
Truth be told this post isn’t directed to you & your guildies or that incident last night that involved you, it is mostly asking a question to Anet. It is a problem when those situations I encountered with you & your guildmates from other servers ALONG with some others. Some of you “fight clubbers” are not honourable & I did run past them to take the camp, I didn’t attack a single one of them yet they came & defended their camp & killed me.
Yes, they should defend their camp as loyalty to their server, but then YES I should attack the camp owners that are standing around your “unofficial duel” area to ensure I don’t get attacked from them at the camp. You don’t see the problem with how you players have set this up? It sends mixed messages all the way around. That windmill is on the way to the camp via that base. Not all players enter it through the front door.
I ended up getting feisty with you guys over something you believed you were entitled to & I had ZERO clue wth was going on, why were you defending other servers before your own etc… My setting are so low to avoid lag I had no clue til AFTER you all killed the mesmer & me that you were the same guild the night before. See how your assumptions of what you thought the “extent” of my knowledge got us? I didn’t know jack crap. I don’t like to get feisty with server mates, it is counterproductive in more ways than one, but there I was thinking you guys were spies & sabotaging our team…. After reading the other post I know now that wasn’t the case where u all were concerned, but at the time when I reacted, yah~~ I showed my kitten Since you are here I will apologize for showing it & with the knowledge I have now, I would have handled it differently.
There is no problem with duelers, but you players of fight club do not have the resources to enforce “honourable interactions” nor the authority to set it up where & how you want it to ensure that it is not screwing other players not participating in it up. While your guild is willing to back off or stay out of it, not all are, & until you can ensure others will be as respectful, you really can’t be surprised when players go off the handle when the last straw has touched the camels back.
So you decided to ruin Fight Club and got ran over for it
Now you are posting about it asking anet to punish those players who decided to use thier $60 they spent differently than you.
Shoulda just left it alone mate
I have nothing against dueling, however I do have an issue with those who take it upon themselves to change the content then punish others who do not know about it or do not wish to conform to the “fake content”. As it is the current content does not support your premature introduction & unrealistic insistence that it doesn’t adversely affect the server community.
It is a conflict of interests no matter how you try & manipulate it. I am not in the wrong for asking an official response, you are in the wrong if you insist others follow & bend their game to allow your personal desires to be met despite the issues it is creating.
You put your server team in an awkward position & cause unnecessary confusion & drama to those playing WvW by defending an idea that is simply NOT working in the better interest of all varying type of players involved, that bad taste in the mouth then follows the server into the depths of PvE as peopel start leaving squad when Mr. Smoe Joe of fight club that ridiculed them over a “SOCIAL RULE” & beat them down the day before joins the squad.
When/If Anet decide to implement such a system I will gladly participate & support it, but I will not be hassled or bullied or ridiculed onto your WRONG bandwagon. Nor am I gna be forced to spend my game time pausing to try & figure out who is doing what where & are they going to attack me when & if I try to take the camp or are they going to abide by some invisible non existent code of honour this “fight club” has. If ANet doesn’t condone it, who will enforce the “rules” or deal with the complaints? You?
Your action created negative reaction from a fellow player & you want to avoid taking accountability so you can continue getting what you want, instead of understanding, while it was fun, in it’s current mode of “player ran” it is interrupting server community growth in many ways.
So please refrain from trying to put some distorted sense of blame on those of us players that see it as detrimental. We also pay 60$ for the game as it was ADVERTISED mate ^^

I returned to game after a couple months absence & ended up arguing with some of my fellow server players over something that a select group of players took the liberty of adding a “game within a game” & their rules trump Anets content & ToS. Finally, today I found out that there is some foolish “social rule” that I am expected to adhere to or else I am ridiculed , stomped, & labeled a trouble maker etc etc. I found out about this via~ https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Unofficial-Dueling-Area-in-WvW-Look/first.
I did not see any Anet reps enter that convo so I am asking “officially, do you condone this?”
This seems to be a total conflict of interest as I encounter same Guild Tag dual servers dueling each other. I go running in on my way to camp thinking I am helping a member of my server (my graphics turned low) so don’t even realise they are same guild or w.e. til they start commanding I “STOP IT”. How am I to know they won’t attack me when I try for the camp? etc etc. How is this promoting anything other than server misunderstandings & drama? Do you think I want to go help these players & their guild when they watched as their fellow guildmates on OPPOSING server took me out because I, with good TEAM intentions, didn’t know about their version of what WvW is?
Please address this issue or let us know where you stand so we can decide for ourselves if we even want to deal with the chaos that arises from the potential misunderstandings & abuse that may come with it. Players “pretending” to watch a duel I run past (to avoid confrontation & ruin their lil fun) come wipe me out when I take the camp…. I honestly feel this divides a server if it continues to take place as “player created & ran”, but ultimately it is your decision & I will respect what you say.

2/24 til present
When I load game I no longer EVER am able to get the news feed. Always get a message saying “it’s o.k. you can still play the game….”
