it feels like all the gvg guilds are leaving for different games, so my question is what guilds still do this??? Let’s make a list
Torcan Of Mordred [TORK] from Tarnished Coast
http://tork.enjin.com/
Is there any server that still has consistent trains and roaming groups?
TC still has many guilds devoted to Havoc, GVG and roaming play. During NA time, we have zerg trains too and our off times are getting them as well.
Here is a decent place to start: http://intothemists.com/guides/931-enkis_legendary_juggernaut_build
All the best.
I’m just gonna go back to my Wildstar Beta
Dude, you’ve seen first hand what NCSoft has done and more-so what it hasn’t with GW2. Why would you want to potentially set yourself up for disappointment again?
Nobody is making you play GW2 my friend. Just walk away knowing that you’re not missing anything but in fact you’re saving yourself future disgust as this LS is nothing more than ridiculous, re skinned fluff each and every time.
NCSoft’s/Anet’s main focus is the gem store and how much people are spending on making their Barbie’s look a certain way. Most people who play this game are more concerned about a friggin kite or back-piece than true story and game play. Until enough of us say enough is enough and stop buying their way they will not feel forced to give us real content and they will continue to give us this junk. But hey, you’ll get more awesome back pieces, kites and minis!
I’ve walked away and I will only return when they give us something rich and rewarding. I’d even be willing to pay $60-$100 for a true expansion with a revamped WvW but alas, GW2 will be shelved until they do that but I’m not holding my breath.
I’m going to nominate Disco from TC. Purely on the aspect that following him is an absolute RIOT of a good time – no equal when it comes to the absolute fun factor. You will never laugh so much, and he has lots of skill and knowledge, very approachable, and never harsh with even the newest of players.
Close second would be Nightelight (sorry bro, the crappy Mic was the deciding factor :P ) . They are both very much the reason I went and got a tag myself, and decided to join CERN. Never once regretted the decision.
I second that about Disco. The guy is hilarious and nobody can question Nightelight, he’s the cornerstone but for me personally it’s Chuu Chuu. In fact CERN on the whole are doing a bang up job and every one of their commanders are knowledgeable and personable with no noticeable ego but that’s just what TC is all about.
Just a side note, I’d like to say thank you to all the other commanders of TC like Zen and Azelroth and Sgt. Laiken from AARM it’s been great running with you guys too and you guys deserved to be mentioned. There’s many more but I apologize for not being able to remember all of you. Also like to say Odinzu from EP was my all time favorite. Sad to see you guys go and it sucks fighting against you but it is what it is.

I used to run the normal 10/20/0/30/10 Boon build taking advantage of Zerk’s Power and HF, but as we all know they’ve moved them. =/
I refuse to go buy new armor, runes/rubys or trinkets because I’ve spent enough on this char over the months so this is what I’ve come up with: http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=Vt;4RKFO0Z4BL-60;9;4JJ-T-18-49;257B;1O-F0;2TutbUPbSn-FW0-T6;3wV1X6Y9ZH4Ma9g0QN-5V8aNX8aN;9;9;9;9;8792;2Ek3G
I used this build in the new Pirate dungeon amongst others and did surprisingly well. I crit often, though not as much as before due to no HF, but with this build I still maintain 25 stacks of Might and Fury and Swiftness almost always.
For me, this build lets you deal very good dmg and allows you to take some hits and buff your group and not be a liability as you still have plenty of time to exit the battle and switch to Rifle and continue to help while waiting for CD on Healing Surge. I also make sure to dodge as often as possible anyway.
I don’t claim this build to be perfect as none are and it’s not for everyone but it seems to work well for me and my play style plus I’m not going to allow A-Net to make me shell out more gold for a new build. I refuse to do that with my war.
Please feel free to let me know how I can improve this build as all criticisms and suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
I also feel that build diversity has been decreased. I ran a hybrid knight/zerker and I feel that my build has been hit harder than pure zerker. Way to go about promoting diversity.
This build has forced me to actually increase my damage output and decrease my defenses since it’s the only viable option. Otherwise my build will just be worse than pre-patch.I really hope they understand that promoting build diversity and just ruining a class even worse is different.
I ran a GS/Rifle Knights/Zerker Shout Build with 60% boon duration and took advantage of adrenaline based traits in Adepts in Strength and Discipline only to see they were moved to GM.
This patch annihilated my build and I’m forced if I want to increase my damage and CC output to trait differently and spend gold on complete zerker trinkets. If I wanted to play a Zerker warrior I’d have done that. This patch IMO has pigeonholed GS warriors and not given us the diversity Anet apparently said it would.
Farming CoF is better than Skelk farming for mats in Southsun?
@Drek Thalon:
There’s some good advice in your post, but having said that, tactics like these always look great on paper. What I mean is, it’s easier said than done and takes little to no consideration of what your opponent is doing (nor their level of skill.)
“The best-laid schemes o’ mice an ’men, Gang aft agley.”
Much of your advice, such as “cleanse conditions”, “avoid AoE” and “keep up the pressure” are generalities and to be honest, quite obvious. The problem being that much of what you say is precisely what Warriors have trouble doing. Read the forums; you seem to be under the impression that everyone else runs a greatsword/Bull’s Charge/Frenzy/glass-cannon build when that’s clearly not the case. Shout builds, hammer builds, longbow builds, etc. have all been played and discussed and lo and behold, they all ultimately suffer from the same (if not similar) problems. Of course player skill is a factor but you cannot seriously insist that the class is not at a disadvantage in many key areas in comparison to other classes? “L2p” is as arrogant as it is unhelpful.
On this note, if you do believe it’s just a learn-to-play issue for most, fine, but learning to play the class means putting in hours and hours of dedicated practice. Most people I’d guess don’t have the luxury of being able to spend 4, 5, 6, 7 hours per day to do so. What we’re left with then is a PvP game which is unfriendly, unwelcoming and frustrating for the more casual players. An important point when you consider that a thriving PvP game needs as many players as it can get.
I’m not saying dumb it right down, but PvP shouldn’t just be for the elite, highly skilled players – it should be something everyone can play and enjoy. For this to happen, first and foremost, the classes must be balanced fairly. What’s the point in having a powerful class that very few can play successfully? Bravo to you if you’ve mastered the Warrior class to the extent that you can win most/all matchups or duels. I wish I was that good, and I mean that with all sincerity. Sadly, myself and (I suspect) the majority of other Warriors are struggling for the most part despite our best efforts.
Responding to other players who would like to play and enjoy this class more by simply saying “l2p” is, quite frankly, a churlish attitude to have. Very few are calling for Warriors to be made into and over-powered, easy win class. Most of the “biitching” (as you call it) is actually just Warriors who would like to see some parity. If you think the class is fine and we all just need to “l2p” so be it, but understand you are firmly in the minority.
tl:dr We’re not all as good as you. Like I said, bravo.
Very well said. I started out with a Warrior, leveled him to 80 using GS/R and have 3k+ power, 3k+toughness and 21k+ health with good crit stats using all Knights gear. I’ve also logged over 100 hours of WvW with my Warrior and I’m very competitive.
That being said, I’ve come to a conclusion about my beloved Warrior; our window of opportunity/success vs. most other classes is dramatically smaller in comparison. The room for error is minute and to consistently beat great thieves, mes’, ele’s takes almost machine-like precision and execution along with using all the right equipment and shouts/signets etc and having them ready at all the right times for each unique situation which is not going to always be the case as we know we never know what class is coming around the bend in WvW.
I excel in PvE (who couldn’t) and WvW in larger groups but in 1v1’s or 1v2’s with my Warrior my win/loss ratio vs. great players is not good and while I do not consider myself to be great I feel I can hold my own pretty well and should do a lot better but as I said I feel Warriors aren’t given the same concessions as thieves per say.
I have a level 80 thief using a DD-short bow stealth build and have only logged roughly about 8 hours with him and my kill/death ratio in WvW 1v1’s and 1v2’s is tremendously better vs. all classes even tanked up Guardians and especially vs. my beloved Warriors. I feel as a thief, the outcome comes down to how well I play as opposed to what class I am. Plus if I’m in trouble I can stealth+regen or stealth /teleport out and come back to terrorize again. Warriors have no such security blanket. Not even close.
IDK, if all the stars align and you do everything right all the time a Warrior can win the day everyday but that’s a fantasy IMHO. I’m sure I’ll take kitten for this and as I said, I feel I’m not an uber great player and this is just my own personal experience having played hundreds of hours with my Warrior and I’m not trying to whine. I just think it is what it is…
